October Club Meeting

We had another great time at our October Club meeting.  We welcomed back Ann from her summer hiatus on the river.  The first card we made used a lot of items from the Holiday Catalog.  The stamp set is called Friendship Preserves.  We first stamped the Thanks a Bunch stamp from this set in Cherry Cobbler and then cut it out using the new Window Framelits.  We then took the larger sized Window Framelits and cut a piece of Crumb Cake card stock.  We then used the new Paper Piercing template also in the Holiday Catalog.  We then embossed a piece of the new Core’dinations card stock in Cherry Cobbler with a folder in the Delicate Designs set and lightly sanded it.  I love the look of this new paper.  It adds a lot of dimension to the projects.  We finished off the card using Seam Binding ribbon in Crumb Cake.  I love this ribbon because it is so soft and easy to use..  It comes in a bunch of different colors.  The ribbon is on page 172 of the main catalog.

The next card we made was for Thanksgiving using an older set called Day of Gratitude.  It has some beautiful stamps in that set, including a leaf, acorn and a larger background stamp.  The Designer Series Paper we used is called Comfort Cafe and is one of my favorite papers for fall.  The colors used are Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede.

World Card Making Day

Yesterday was World Card Making Day.  I did not have any events scheduled that day but I did spend some time making some cards.

I love the new Window Framelits because they go so well with so many stamp sets other than Friendship Preserves.  They also go well with the Autumn Accents Leaf Die and the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set.  I CASE’d a couple of these cards from some wonderful demos on Stampin Connection.  It is a web site for demos only that is filled with wonderful ideas.  If anyone is interested in becoming a Stampin Up Demonstrator and would like more information, I would be happy to help.  Just give me a call.  It only costs $99 to join!
