Sending Smiles

Stampin Up Sending Smiles

This is another card we made when some of my friends came to stamp at our cottage.  It is another example of showing them a stand-alone die that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2022/2023 Annual Catalog.  We all see the bundles that include a stamp set and a coordinating die set but we often miss the dies that do not have a stamp set bundled with it.  There are quite a few of them in the catalog and I love them all.  In the case of this card, we used the Dots & Spots Die for the background.  This is a one-die product that cuts out all the polka dots.  What is the best part of this die??  It is offered as FREE with a $100 purchase during Sale-a-bration!  Just make sure you use the item number 163098 and not the item number in the catalog.

To make this card I first used the Dots & Spots die on a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock.  I layered this on an Orchid Oasis card base.  Next, I used the Fabulous Frames die set to cut out the frame in Parakeet Party card stock and another one in Basic White for the center.  This die set is sold alone but it does coordinate with the stamp set called Good Feelings but is not a bundle.

Next, I used the stamp set called Sending Smiles and the coordinating die set called Sending Dies (and, yes!  You can save 10% in a bundle).  I stamped the leaves in Parakeet Party on the inside piece of the Basic White piece I cut out earlier.  Then I stamped the flowers in Orchid Oasis and Tahitian Tide ink with a Daffodil Delight center and cut them out using the appropriate dies.  I layered these flowers on top of the stem using Dimensionals.  Then I adhered it to the center of the Parakeet Party frame.

Next, I cut out the word “sending” in Tahitian Tide card stock and the base of the word in Basic White.  Be careful to look for that tiny little dot for the “i”.  I have to say I did lose it once and all I did was cut off the area where the dot would go from the background piece.  You would never realize it was missing.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Tahitian Tide and cut it out using the coordinating die.

Don’t forget to take a closer look at the Cut & Emboss section in the catalog for some of those stand-alone dies.  There are quite a few fun ones!

Bottled Happiness

Stampin Up Bottled Happiness

As most of you know we have a lake cottage that we spend the summers at.  It is definitely our happy place.  Not only do we have a beautiful view with gorgeous sunsets, but we also have the best neighbors ever!  We have our own Facebook page and last year we formed our own yacht club called the Three Mile Bay Yacht Club.  Well, the Commodore of the Yacht Club has a birthday today so I wanted to wish Peter a very happy birthday.  I know he is going to have a terrific day because he must have 30 family members all visiting.  The shore is a busy place (and we love every minute of it!)!  I am sure there will be a lot of “getting into the spirit” this weekend!

To make this card I first stamped all the bottles from the stamp set called Bottled Happiness.  Then I cut them all out using the Vintage Bottle Punch.  You can get the punch and the stamp set together in a bundle to can save 10%.  The colors I used for this card are Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Highland Heather, Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis. Starry Sky, Mint Macaron and Fresh Freesia.  I know that is a lot of colors but I think they all look so pretty together.  Next, I tied a piece of white Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essential Pack around three of the bottle necks.  I layered them on top of a piece of Basic White card stock that I had run through my Cut & Emboss Machine using the Dots & Spots Die and on top of a piece of Orchid Oasis card stock.  The card base is Pool Party.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Orchid Oasis ink onto a strip of Basic White card stock.

Happy birthday, Peter!  I hope you have a terrific day!
