Elegant Borders

Stampin Up Elegant Borders

Well, I had a fantastic surprise last weekend.  My son, Zachary and his family came for the weekend unexpectedly.  They were supposed to go visit Mary’s (Zachary’s wife’s) father in Florida but he was not feeling well so at the last minute they called me and asked if we would like visitors.  I am sorry to hear about her dad but was so happy they were coming.  We had a great time with them but it went way too quickly (of course).  There is nothing better than a couple of grandchildren coming to visit!

Elegant Borders is a die set that is an Online Exclusive product.  As I told you before, Stampin’ Up! has offered some products for sale that are not in any catalog.  It is a way for them to stay more on-trend and I love the idea.  You can see the other products they are ordering HERE.  Some will be re-ordered when they run out and some will be gone for good so if you like something, I would not waste any time ordering it.  Again, this is also a reminder to order any ink colors (with refills) that are your favorites because Stampin’ Up! is having a color refresh with the next catalog.

I used one of the Elegant Borders to make this card.  I took a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of Basic White card stock and used the die to cut both the top and bottom of it.  I adhered that to a 3.5″ x 5.5″ piece of Highland Heather and a Gorgeous Grape card base.

Next, I stamped the flowers and leaves from the stamp set called Happiness Abounds onto a piece of Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper using Memento Black Ink.  Then I cut them out using the Blooming Happiness die set.  I like how the images look like they were watercolored but it is really the DSP design.  I stamped the sentiment (from The Greetery) in Memento Black ink and then added some Opaqued Adhesive-Backed Gems.
