Goodbye Fabulous Four

Fabulous Four

Fabulous Four is a sentiment stamp set that is retiring in a few days.  I always like this set because it has larger sentiments which can make a bigger impact.  There were four (hence the name) sentiment stamps in this set.  Each sentiment covers almost any thing you would want to say.  There is the thanks I used plus there are two different stamps that could be used for birthdays or graduations and there is a stamp you can use for a get well card.

I also used some glittering ribbon that is in the 2016 Occasions Catalog that is also retiring.  It comes in Pool Party and adds quite a bit of sparkle to any card.  The ribbon is really soft and easy to tie.  Lastly, the Designer Series Paper I used is also leaving us for good in a few days.  It is called Cherry On Top and was full of bright, fun colors.

Remember, there are only a few days left to buy things from the Retirement List.  After that, they are gone for good.

Another Stamp Off Challenge

Stamp Off New Logo

Today is another Stamp Off Challenge.  When the three of us first started this we had decided to just do it occasionally.  Now it seems like we do a challenge every Friday (which is ok by me).  We are having fun and that is what counts.  The best part is that none of us know what the other two are doing so it is a surprise for us too.

inking embossing folder

This week we have an Embossing Folder Challenge where we have to stamp with an Embossing Folder.  This because a really popular technique when Stampin’ Up! came out with the Woodlands Embossing Folder.  In any case, I decided to combine my new Watercolor Class Techniques with this challenge.  For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, I am taking a Watercolor Class for Card Makers and love it!

Fabulous Four

I first made my watercolor background using Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango.  After that dried, I inked up the Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and “stamped” it on the card.  All you do is put your piece of cardstock inside the Embossing Folder, close it and press down.

Now check out what amazing projects Jackie made HERE and Buffy made HERE!  See you next week!

Celebrate With Dotty Angles

Dotty Angles, Fabulous Four

I’ve been spending so much time with my new grand baby, Madelyn, that I needed to make some quick and easy cards.  This card literally took me about 5 minutes to make.  The longest part was coloring all the dots in different colors.   I could have stamped the dots in all one color but  I think the different colors make it look like confetti is falling.  Plus it makes it a little more fun!

The “confetti” stamp is from Dotty Angles and the sentiment is from the stamp set called Fabulous Four.  I am happy to report that both of these sets will be in the new catalog that comes out in June.

Flamingo Lingo

Flamingo Lingo

Flamingo Lingo is the Stampin’ Up! Ronald McDonald stamp set.  Every time someone buys this set, Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House.  Every year Stampin’ Up! has a set they do this with.  I do have to say, it is a hard set to find in the catalog.  It is usually on the last page (inside the back cover).  People tend to miss it here but I think it is where they usually put it.

I used the 2013/2014 In Colors (along with Wisteria Wonder and Daffodil Delight) to make this card.  I like to remind people that this set of In Colors is going to retire this year so they might want to think about purchasing the ink refills and paper before it sells out.  Usually the In Colors sell out the day Stampin’ Up! releases the retirement list.  So don’t miss out.  Order it before it is too late and these colors are gone forever (unless of course they have a Color Renovation and they bring some of them back.  Let’s keep our fingers crossed because I will really miss Coastal Cabana!!).

A Simple But Elegant Workshop Card

Flower Patch, Filigree Frame

I have done a couple of workshops the last couple of weeks.  The thing with workshops is you need to design a card that doesn’t take a lot of time to make.  When there are 8 or 10 people trying to all make a cards, it can sometimes take a while.  This is one of the cards we made.  It uses the Photopolymer Stamp Set called Flower Patch.  This set has 19 different stamps in it.  Most of the stamps are different flowers but it also has some leaves and a couple of sentiments.

I also introduced the Texture Boutique Machine.  This machine uses Embossing Folders to emboss beautiful designs into your cardstock.  It is smaller than the Big Shot but embosses just as well.  In this case we used the Filigree Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I think it gives the card a little elegance.

Festival Of Trees Birthday Card

Festival Of Trees

Here is another card I made using the “Christmas” stamp set called Festival Of Trees.  The thing I love about this is you can really use it year round.  All you need to do is change the colors a bit and it becomes a birthday card!  This stamp set is in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  It also has a matching punch called Tree Punch and you can save 15% by buying both!

If you like this set, remember, there is only about a month left before it is gone.  Occasionally the merchandise in the smaller catalogs appear in the annual catalog but not usually Christmas sets so if you like it, you need to order it soon.

Don’t forget the Online Extravaganza is still going on!  To see what is on sale click HERE!

Celebrate You!

For All Things, Fabulous Four

Occasionally I forget to look at my calendar a week ahead so all of a sudden I realized I know someone with a birthday in a couple of days.  I want to make a card that is nice but quick.  This is a very simple and easy card to make if you are in a hurry.  I just stamped the leaves twice in Wild Wasabi and once in Marina Mist.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black.  I took a piece of Whisper White and ran it through the Big Shot with a new embossing folder from the Holiday Catalog called Filigree Framed Textured Impressions and put it all together.  Simple but still elegant.

Fabulous Four

Fabulous Four

Here is another birthday for one of my August birthday buddies.  If you read my blog a lot you will know that August is a crazy birthday month for me.  For this card I used the Designer Series Paper called Gold Soiree.  It is a little different then most of the Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!  It is glossy and has a lot of gold in it.  I thought a few sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim would look great on it.  Then I had to add a star because, as you know, my cards are either full of flowers or stars a lot.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Fabulous Four.

Crazy String Art

Fabulous Four

Do you remember a long time ago when we used to make String Art?  I remember doing this when my boys were young.  Of course, being boys, they wrapped the string around everything they could find, including each other!

I made this card using Markers and a ruler.  I just randomly placed the ruler from one side to the other and drew the lines.  I probably got a little carried away and I had to make myself stop.  I used the 2014/2016 In Color Markers.  The sentiment is from Fabulous Four which has 4  (of course) large sentiments.  It didn’t take long to make, which is my kind of card!

Project Life Point & Click

Point & Click, Fabulous Four, PLxSU

I know I have said this a million times, but the best part of the Stampin’ Up! Photopolymer Stamps is that you can see exactly where you are placing it.  It is clear so once you ink up the stamp it enables you to see the placement better.  Therefore, it wasn’t hard to line up the arrow heads for this card.  I used the Project Life stamp set called Point & Click.  The sentiment is from Fabulous Four.  I used some of the new 2014/2016 In Colors to make this card (Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist and Blackberry Bliss!  I love these colors!
