Mother’s Day Challenge

Good morning everyone.  Today’s Stamp Off Challenge is to make a Mother’s Day card.  Easy, right?

I decided to use a retiring stamp set called Falling Flowers.  This set has matching dies called May Flowers.  The dies are retiring too.  Both of these products have been around for a while so I am not surprised they are going.  Still, I like this set so I will miss it.

If you look closely at the card you will also see I used a die from Flourish Thinlits.  These dies will be in our next catalog.  I wanted to add a little texture to the background so I thought this die worked well.  I layered it on a piece of cardstock I cut out using the Rectangle Stitched Dies.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Itty Bitty Birthdays.  This set is in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and is carrying over to the new catalog.  This is a great set full of different birthday greetings.  As you can see, I used it for Mother’s Day too  because I don’t have a Mother’s Day stamp!  Can you believe that??

The colors I used for this card are Soft Sea Foam,  Basic Black, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made.

Falling Flowers

Stampin’ Up!®  comes out with four catalogs a year.  The Annual Catalog comes out in June.  The Holiday Catalog is September – December.  Then the Occasions Catalog is from January to May and the Sale-a-bration Catalog is January – March.  We always get excited to see new products each time a new catalog comes out and forget about those lonely Annual Catalog stamps.  I decide to look through my stamp set and give a little love to a couple I hadn’t used in a long time.

The stamp set I used on this card is called Falling Flowers. I love the big swirl stamp that comes in this set.  I stamped the background using Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Highland Heather.  I colored them using the matching Stampin’ Blends.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Picture Perfect Birthday.  I stamped that using Memento Ink.

The Stamparatus & Celebrate You

I am sure you have heard of the Stamparatus by now.  It is the Stampin’ Up! new positioning tool that will be available for purchase in the new Annual Catalog that begins on June 1st.  Stampin’ Up! did make it available to reserve one early so a lot of us already have one.  It is an awesome tool that every stamper needs to have.

Here is a video showing you the basics on how the Stamparatus works:

To make this card I positioned a stamp where I wanted it to go onto the cardstock, inked it up and then stamped it.  Then I moved my card 180 degrees and did it again in the opposite corner.  I did this for each of the stamps on my card.

I di this with each stamp so both corners looked exactly the same.  When I was done stamping, I added the words Celebrate and you using the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies.  You can get these dies for free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration.

The cardstock color I used is Whisper White, Old Olive and Flirty Flamingo.  The ink colors are Old Olive, Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight.

During Sale-a-bration you can also get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order) or join my Stampin Up! family and get a $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS your choice of TWO FREE STAMP SETS (an added value of up to $101)!!

Falling Flowers Wedding Card

Falling Flowers, Sunshine Wishes, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

I needed a quick and easy wedding card recently.  It wasn’t because the wedding was unplanned or anything like that.  It was because I procrastinated and waited until the morning we were heading out the door to go to the wedding to make one.  I just totally forgot about it.

I already had a scrap of the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper from another project and I actually had the “congrats”  from the set of Thinlits called Sunshine Wishes cut out of Sweet Sugarplum card stock too.  That left figuring out the background.  I took a stamp from the set called Falling Flowers and stamped it twice onto Whisper White card stock and then put it all together.  Even if I hadn’t have the congrats already cut out it wouldn’t have taken very long for me to do it.  That is the great things about Stampin’ Up!.  All their products are easy to use and coordinate so well together.

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase! Get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order)! Join my Stampin Up! family and get a $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS your choice of TWO FREE STAMP SETS (an added value of up to $104)!!

Falling Flowers

Falling Flowers, Flourish Thinlits, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

One of the great things about Stampin’ Up! is you can mix and match just about everything!  Although this card uses a stamp set that has matching Framelits, I decided to also use a different set of Thinlits.  Actually, this card is a mish mash (are they even words?) of a lot of different products.

The flowers are from the stamp set called Falling Flowers.  The matching Framelits are called May Flowers and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.   The sentiment is from a past Paper Pumpkin Kit.  That is something that people forget.  Even though you may have made all the items in the Paper Pumpkin kit, you will still have the stamp sets to use forever!  The Gold Foil leaves and border are from Flourish Thinlits.  Remember, there is no law that says you can only use sets that come together on a card.  You can mix it up every now and then!

Falling Flowers And Thoughtful Banners

Falling Flowers, Thoughtful Banners, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

Here is a quick and easy birthday card that you can make in just a few minutes.  I used the stamp sets called Falling Flowers.  This stamp set has a matching set of Framelits called May Flowers and you can save 10% buy purchasing them in a Bundle.  I didn’t actually use the Framelits for this card but it is always awesome when you can buy matching Framelits.  That is one of the best things about Stampin’ Up!

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Thoughtful Banners.  This stamp set has a matching punch called Duet Banners (again, you can save money by purchasing the Bundle).

I forgot to share Madelyn’s Halloween costume.  As some of you know, Madelyn has a dog named Waffles.  Waffles is a Sheep-a-doodle.  Madelyn’s parents decided to dress her up as a Sheep – Baby for Halloween!  She is just adorable, if I do say so myself!

Falling Flowers

Falling Flowers, May Flowers, Tin Og Cards

I made this card using a couple of the new 2016/2018 In Colors.  I love these new colors.  They are fun, some of them are bright, they go well together and they make such happy cards.  In this case, I used Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach.  They remind me of sherbet.

I used the stamp set called Falling Flowers.  This stamp set has matching Framelits called May Flowers (as a side note, I want to thank the person who told me I had these all mixed up last time I used them).  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  The sentiment is from Tin Of Cards.

It has been a while since I posted a picture of Madelyn.  She is growing like a weed.  Her grandpa is totally in love with her and after seeing this picture of her, he is even prouder.  One of his favorite foods is corn on the cob.  Apparently, it has become one of Madelyn’s too!  She is a girl after his heart! ❤️

Tic Tac Toe

Stamp Off Logo Clean

I just love Fridays because it is the day Buffy, Jackie and I have our Stamp Off Challenge.  This week the challenge is TIC Tac Toe.  You have to pick a column vertically, horizontally or diagonally and make a card using the items in that row.  Here is the Tic Tac Toe Board we used.

47a6d820b3127cce98548a42eb2100000010100AcN2Lhq3cOXGA

I used the first column going down (Framelit or Thinlit, In Color and White Perfect Accents).  Here is my card:

Falling Flowers, Flourish Thinlits

I did cheat a little with my row.  I know.  I think I always cheat just a little.  I tried a White Perfect Accent in the flower but it didn’t really show up very well so I used a Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shape.  I am sorry, Jackie & Buffy.  I know you will forgive me though because you are both awesome like that!

I just love Peekaboo Peach with Pumpkin Pie.  They compliment each other so well.  The stamp set I used for the leaves is called Falling Flowers.  The flowers are from the Flourish Thinlits Dies and the sentiment is from Mixed Borders.

Now let’s go check out what Buffy and Jackie made.  I can’t wait to see.  They always make gorgeous creations!

Falling Flowers

Falling Flowers, May Flowers, Watercolor Wishes

As you know, every year Stampin’ Up! introduces five new colors called In Colors.  These colors are available for two years and which point they retire.  There is always one of these colors that just doesn’t click with me.  This year it was Sweet Sugarplum.  It just wasn’t a color I would normally use.  Then I discovered how well it went with Rich Razzleberry and I began to like it.  Well, I just discovered it goes really well with Dapper Denim too!  Now, I have to admit, I really like this color.  It is funny how sometimes it just takes time to get acquainted.

I made this card using a new stamp set called Falling Flowers.  It has matching Framelits called May Flowers.  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle!  You know you are going to want both.  Just accept it.  They just go together!

Falling Flowers Stamp Off Challenge

Stamp Off Logo Clean

I love Fridays because it is the day of our Stamp Off Challenges.  This time Buffy gave us a challenge.  It is called Faux Sketch.  This means you need to make your card look like you sketched it with a pencil but you use a stamp.  Ok, so I have to admit.  I had a hard time with this one but I guess that is why we call it a challenge!!

FauxSketch-001

Here is my card:

Falling Flowers, Flourish Thinlits, Faux Sketch

I know.  It doesn’t really look like I drew it with a pencil.  I used a couple of new stamp sets from the 2016/2017 Annual Catalog.  The swirl is from Falling Flowers.  Don’t you love that?  Falling Flowers has an awesome set of matching dies called May Flowers but I actually used the set called Flourish Thinlits (thanks to a reader for straightening me out on this). These two sets go well together even though they weren’t really mean to.  That is the nice thing about Stampin’ Up! products.  You can mix and match them.  When I was first making this card, I didn’t realize that the flowers in the die set all layer together so you don’t have to cut them.  Therefore, the flower is really made up of three different dies.

The “Hello” is a new alphabet stamp set called Brushwork Alphabet.  I really liked the font they used for this set.  I think it is very elegant.  They aren’t very hard to line up because the stamps are Photopolymer so you can see where you are stamping.  I’ll tell you a little secret though.  When I first made the card, I stamped the “o” in Hello upside down so I had to re-do the entire card!  These things happen!

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made for this challenge.  I am sure they did it correctly because they are awesome at these things!
