Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC32

Banner1

Yes, I know it is not Sunday but we decided that we wanted to change up the Watercooler Challenge.  It is not going to be weekly and on Wednesdays.  It is also now called Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  That should be easy to remember!

For our first Wednesday Challenge Kath gave us a sketch to use.  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

For All Things

I decided to use the stamp set called For All Things.  This set had its first appearance in last year’s Holiday Catalog.  I was sad when it retired but Stampin’ Up! ended putting it in this year’s Annual Catalog.  Yay!  I always liked this set.

If you would like to participate in this challenge, you just have to make a card using this sketch.  Then click HERE to add your card to our site.  We are really hoping to get a lot of participation this week so what is stopping you??

Grateful For All Things

For All Things

Thanksgiving is always a time to remember who and what you are grateful for.  I am grateful for Rob, my husband of 31 crazy years.  I am grateful for my three boys, who have grown up into wonderful, thoughtful and caring young men.  I could not be prouder of them!  I am grateful for my wonderful daughter-in-law, Tara.  She is kind and considerate and perfect for Sam!  I am grateful for Emma, my best non-human friend.  She is very sweet, lets me hug her, listens to me and keeps all my secrets.  I am grateful for my mother, who at 89 years young, has more energy and does more than I do!  I am grateful to Stampin’ Up! for teaching the most uncreative person in the world (me) how to be creative and introducing me to so many new friends online and in “real life”.

I probably could go on forever but you get the idea.  What are you grateful for?

Don’t forget the Online Extravaganza is still going on!  To see what is on sale click HERE!

Hello, Fall

Autumn Accents, For All Things

I made this card using parts and pieces of some cut outs I did a long time ago.  I made a wreath of leaves I cut out using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die and had lots of leaves left over.  I have a huge box of stamped images, punched cardstock, shapes cut out with my Big Shot, pieces of ribbon, etc.  Usually they are from a card I started and never finished for whatever reason.  I am a craft hoarder so I keep things like this thinking I will use them one day.  It is not very often I actually do use these pieces but today was one of those days!

Watercooler Color Challenge

Four Feathers, Work Of Art, For All Things

The other day I was in my stamp room trying to design a new card and wanted to use some colors I haven’t used in a while.  I pulled out Night of Navy and was trying to figure out a couple of other colors to use when I got an email from the administrator of the group that does the Watercooler challenges.  The email said the next challenge was a color challenge using Night of Navy, Marina Mist and Silver.  Perfect!  I now had my my colors.

I didn’t have any silver cardstock so I decided to heat emboss the card using Silver Embossing Powder.  The middle feather from the stamp set called Four Feathers is embossed with silver as well and the chevrons from Work of Art.  The sentiment is from For All Things.

If you would like to see the other cards made with these colors you can go to the Watercooler Challenge Web site starting at 10:00AM.   There are some awesome creations there.

Celebrate You!

For All Things, Fabulous Four

Occasionally I forget to look at my calendar a week ahead so all of a sudden I realized I know someone with a birthday in a couple of days.  I want to make a card that is nice but quick.  This is a very simple and easy card to make if you are in a hurry.  I just stamped the leaves twice in Wild Wasabi and once in Marina Mist.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black.  I took a piece of Whisper White and ran it through the Big Shot with a new embossing folder from the Holiday Catalog called Filigree Framed Textured Impressions and put it all together.  Simple but still elegant.

For All Things Washi

For All Things

I think Washi Tape is one of the best inventions of late.  It is so easy to use and adds a lot of color to your projects.  Stampin’ Up! has Washi Tape in so many colors and designs that they can be used for any occasion.  I used a couple from two different sets to make this card.  You can buy all the different sets and they all go together (well most of them do).  The red tape on this card is from Beach House and the Crumb Cake is from Epic Day.  The stamp set I used is called For All Things and is in the Holiday Catalog.

Grateful For You

For All Things

This is the third card we made at our monthly stamp club.  It uses the stamp set called For All Things and is in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  It is a very clean and simple card but looks elegant.  The best part is it did not take long to do.  The background is called Hardwood and was stamped on Sahara Sand cardstock with Sahara Sand Ink.  I love the way Sahara Sand goes so well with Blackberry Bliss.  Of course, Sahara Sand goes with just about any other Stampin’ Up! color but it does look especially nice with Blackberry Bliss!  Blog Signature-Fall

Give Thanks

For All Things

Today my niece is getting married!  She is so awesome and we are so very proud of her.  She graduated last year as a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Columbia University and moved to the Washington DC area to work at a hospital down there.  She is marrying a terrific man (Tim) and we are very excited to go share in this wonderful day.

I know this card doesn’t have a lot to do with weddings but it is not a bad idea to “give thanks for all things” including wonderful nieces on their wedding day!

Congratulations Katie & Tim!

Give Thanks For All Things

For All Things

I love this stamp set called For All Things.  It is in the 2014 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  It is one of those sets that I knew I had to order the first time I saw it.  Sometimes I like a set but will wait a bit before ordering it but there are some sets that are first on my list.

First I stamped the leaves and then cut them out.  Then I stamped the background of the card using the same leaves and adding the stems too.  The designer Series Paper is from the Holiday Catalog and is called Trim The Tree.

A Wondrous Wreath Thank You

Wonderous Wreath

The Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Wondrous Wreath does not have to be used only for Christmas.  This card can be used for Thanksgiving or just a Fall thank you card.

I made this card using a variety of different products.  The sentiment is from For All Things and is also in the Holiday Catalog.  I cut the leaves out using a Bigz Die called Autumn Accents.  You can cut out  four leaves and an acorn with this die.  I also used two different embossing folders.  One is Perfect Polka Dots for the leaves and the background is called Argyle.  I finished it off with a Designer Button from the Neutrals Collection and piece of Linen Thread.
