First Frost

It is amazing what happens when you break out of your comfort level and try new things or products.  All my life I refused to eat Avocados.  I actually never had even tried them! Then my sister, Katherine and I went out for lunch together one day and she wanted to order a pizza to share.  She really wanted avocados on this pizza (I know.  Sounds awful) and I for some crazy reason let her.  Well, it turns out I really like Avocados!  Who knew!  It only took me 40 years to like them!

The same is true for Stampin’ Up!® products.  When I first looked at First Frost I knew immediately it was not something I would buy or use.  Then I started to see cards made with this set online and decided to try it.  Now, I love it.  It is gorgeous and the matching Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper  is amazing.  It has glimmer to it and the patterns are beautiful.  Plus this stamp set has matching dies called Frosted Bouquet Framelits (and yes, you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle). You can expect to see lots of cards made with this Suite of products!

The colors I used for this card are Pear Pizzazz and Blackberry Bliss.  This card would be a great card for beginners because it doesn’t require a lot of products.  #simplestamping

Next time you look at a suite of products and think to yourself “no way”, go out of your comfort zone and try them anyway.  You never know, you might like Avocados too!

Animal Outing And Last Day For Online Extravaganza

The Animal Expedition Suite is in the 2018 Annual Catalog.  The best thing about this Suite are the dies called Animal Friends.  They cut out the stamp shapes, of course but they also cut out the matching Designer Series Paper called Animal Expedition.  I love that Stampin’ Up!® has starting doing this with a lot of their products.

To make this card I first cut out all three pieces of the Designer Series Paper.  You have to cut them out all at once or they won’t match up when you layer them on top of cardstock.  Then I cut out the Giraffe from the DSP using the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies.  I stamped the sentiment and used two dies from Frosted Bouquet Framelits to cut it out.  Lastly I had to put the googly eye on the giraffe for my friend, Lynette.

First Frost

This is the second card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  We used the stamp set called First Frost and the matching dies called Frosted Bouquet.  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  They are part of a Suite called Frosted Floral.  This Suite in clouds the most gorgeous Designer Series Paper  called Frosted Floral.  It is so elegant and is printed on shimmer paper.  You can’t really see the shimmer in this photograph by at least you can see the patterns.

Also included in the Suite is cardstock, ribbons, Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets (my favorites!) and embellishments.

The colors I used on this card are Powder Pink, Poppy Parade, Gray Granite and Tranquil Tide.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Country Home.  All of these products are in the 2018 Holiday Catalog.

Tic Tac Toe First Frost

Good morning everyone.  Today is the day for another BS & J Productions Stamp Off Challenge.  This time we have a Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  This is where we have to create something using products in a straight line.  It can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal.  I decided to go right across the middle and use Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce and Daffodil Delight.

Here is my card.

I used the stamp set called First Frost.  This set is in the 2018 Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog.  It has a set of matching dies called Frosted Bouquet Framelits and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

To make this card I first stamped the flowers in Daffodil Delight and the buds in Pumpkin Pie ink and cut them out using the Framelits.  Then I stamped the leaves in Shaded Spruce twice and cut them out using the die.  Lastly I cut out the little berries in Whisper White cardstock twice.  Then I just layered them all together until I liked how they were arranged and adhered them to the card.  To share a little tip I learned, if you get an arrangement of stamps you like and then don’t want to mess them up, just layer a piece of Press ‘N Seal over the top and rub.  The pieces will all stick to the Press ‘N Seal exactly how you arranged them.  Then you just lift them up and add adhesive onto the back of the pieces and adhered them to the cardstock all at once.  Then just peel off the Press ‘N Seal.  It works perfectly!

To make the sentiment I used the dies that are included in the set.  The dies were a little too big for my sentiment so I cut them down.  First I stamped the sentiment is Shaded Spruce onto Whisper White cardstock.  Then I put it on my Big Shot  and ran it through with the die like this:

Then I ran it through again with the die like this:

This is how it turned out.

I did the same thing with the larger die and Pumpkin Pie cardstock.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using this Tic Tac Toe board.  I love seeing how they make projects that are so different from mine and each other’s.
