Stampin Up Gone Fishing

Every stamper needs a masculine set.  I know most men are not into cards but some are.  My husband, Rob is one of those.  He likes almost every card I make and if he doesn’t, he tells me he likes it anyway.  He is good like that.

Stampin’ Up!®  offers some very nice masculine stamp bundles.  Since we live on Lake Ontario in the summertime, I know a lot of fisherman so I knew I had to get the Let’s Go Fishing Suite.  The suite includes the stamp set and dies called Gone Fishing, Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper and the Twisted Rope 3D Embossing Folder.  The stamp set is a two-step stamp set.  This means it takes two or more stamps to make one image.  It die set cuts out all the stamps plus it has a large stamp that cuts out a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″  rounded corner rectangle and another die that cuts out the frame with the boxes on my card.  Plus, some of the dies cut out some of the images in the Designer Series Paper.  Such fun!

To make this card, I first cut out a piece of the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper using the large rounded corner rectangle die.  This particular design looks like water (to me).  Next, I cut out the frame in Misty Moonlight card stock.  I stamped each of the images in Misty Moonlight, Mossy Meadow and Copper Clay ink and then cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I did add a little Copper Clay ink to the fish tail and fins with a Stampin’ Write Marker.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Celebrate With Tags.
