Lovely Amazing You

Lovely Amazing You, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

Lovely Amazing You is a old stamp set that is now on the Clearance Rack.  It was one of the first Photopolymer Stamp Sets that Stampin’ Up! came out with and it is still one of my favorites.   If you haven’t checked out the Clearance Rack yet, you need to.  This stamp set is only $7.48 right now!  How amazing is that??  There were a ton of items added to it this week and are only available until supplies last.  Once they are gone, they are gone for good.  You can check out what else is on the list HERE.  Hurry before things start selling out!

It’s A Beautiful Ride

Beautiful Ride

Here is another card using the stamp set called Beautiful Ride.  It is in the 2016 Occasions Catalog.  I won’t go into the story about how this was my first car again.  It is way too long to repeat.  If you want to read that post click HERE.  I also made this card before I took my Watercolor Class so as you can see, it is not the best coloring.  It is ok though.  I still like the card.  It was quick and easy to make and even though the coloring is bad, I would still use it.

I stamped the road using a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge.  You’ve heard that story too, so I won’t go into it again either.  I guess this is what you call a quick and easy post too!  I embossed the car with Versamark Ink and Black Embossing Powder and then cut it out.  I did this so I wouldn’t have to mask off the car before stamping the road.

Another Item On The Retirement List

Gorgeous Grunge, Seasonal Frame Thinlits

I love it when Stampin’ Up! has words that can be cut out using our Big Shot.  I especially love it when the words are in an elegant font such as the word “grateful” on this card.  The Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies actually have four words that can be cut out.  They are grateful, falala, snow and spooky and they are all in that same fabulous font.  Unfortunately, they are retiring on January 5th when the 2015 Holiday Catalog expires.  That makes me sad.  If you like these words, then you need to buy them before that date because once they are retired, they aren’t coming back!

Grateful For You

Gorgeous Grunge, Merry Everything

When Gorgeous Grunge first came out, it looked like road kill to me.  I saw a card using it with Real Red and it was not pretty.  Then I decided to get out of comfort level and purchased it.  Now I love it (although I still will not use it with Red).  It is  great set just to add some color to the background of your card.  Washi Tape is another way to add color and the two of them just go well together.  This set of Washi Tape uses the 2015/2016 In Colors.  I am really going to miss these colors when they retire next spring.  Of course, I think I say that with every set of In Colors!

Lovely Amazing You

Lovely Amazing You, Gorgeous Grunge

Lovely Amazing You is one of those stamp sets that is not in any Stampin’ Up! catalog but is available for purchase.  You can see a few other sets that are also available by clicking on the link about that says “Merchandise Not In The Catalog”.  I used this set to stamp the sentiment on this card.  I love the sayings and the fonts.  It reminds me of neat handwriting (certainly not my own!).

The splatters in the background are from Gorgeous Grunge and the butterfly comes in the stamp set called Butterfly Basics.  Try to ignore the ribbon I used.  I just realized it is retired!  Sorry about that!

Six Sided Sampler

Six Sided Sampler

Six Sided Sampler is another stamp set that I haven’t used in a while.  It has always been one of my favorites (do I say that with every stamp set?  Yes, I do!).  I love the different hexagon patterns on the stamps and of course, it has a matching punch so there is no fussy cutting.  I used Gorgeous Grunge behind the hexagons to add a little color to the background.  The ribbon I used is retiring at the end of this month.  It is the 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon in Smoky Slate.  If you like this ribbon or any of the other 11 colors, you need to order it before it is gone for good!

Make A Wish

Perfect Pennants

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas yesterday and that all of you had all of your wishes granted.  My Christmas was wonderful, although I missed my youngest son, Zachary a lot.  He couldn’t be with us this year because he deployed.  I think it is the first Christmas he has not been here since he was born and it made me sad.

I made this card using the stamp sets called Perfect Pennants and Gorgeous Grunge.  The first time I saw Gorgeous Grunge I thought it was appropriate for road kill.  It looked like a lot of blood splatter.  Now I love it.  It is the perfect set to add a little color without going overboard.

A Beach Break

By The Seashore

I think it is going to be a long winter for me.  It is only December and I have had enough already.  I am dreaming of going to Florida, walking the beach, and picking up shells.  I want to feel sunshine and warmth and not this cold, dreary weather we have up North.

I made this card using the By The Seashore stamp set.  It reminds me of warm weather.  It reminds me of Florida.  Luckily I will be going there at the end of January for the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference.  Until then, I can only dream about it and stay inside!

Grateful For All Things

For All Things

Thanksgiving is always a time to remember who and what you are grateful for.  I am grateful for Rob, my husband of 31 crazy years.  I am grateful for my three boys, who have grown up into wonderful, thoughtful and caring young men.  I could not be prouder of them!  I am grateful for my wonderful daughter-in-law, Tara.  She is kind and considerate and perfect for Sam!  I am grateful for Emma, my best non-human friend.  She is very sweet, lets me hug her, listens to me and keeps all my secrets.  I am grateful for my mother, who at 89 years young, has more energy and does more than I do!  I am grateful to Stampin’ Up! for teaching the most uncreative person in the world (me) how to be creative and introducing me to so many new friends online and in “real life”.

I probably could go on forever but you get the idea.  What are you grateful for?

Falling Geometrical

Geometrical

This is one of those cards that I had to re-do a couple of times to get the look I wanted.  First I tried just stamping the triangles on the cardstock with it looked like it was missing something.  Then I added the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge thinking that would help.  It didn’t.  Then I tired just making the Daffodil Delight triangles pop out using Dimensionals and eventually added all the triangles that way.  It looks much better than what I started out with.  I am not sure it gave it the look of falling triangles but I still like how it turned out.
