So Much Happy

Hello everyone!  Welcome to another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Buffy and me.  This time our challenge is to make a shaker card.  I was really happy to see this challenge.  When Stampin’ Up!® had the virtual convention this year, Shannon West did a presentation showing how to make an easy shaker card using the Stampin’ Up!® Clear Medium Envelopes and I have wanted to make one.  Normally shaker cards take some time to do the shaker part but this was so easy!

Here is my card using the So Much Happy Bundle that is in the 2020/2021 Annual Catalog.  This view shows the card standing up.  The one below shows it laying down so you can see the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles I used better.

To make the shaker part all you do is take a Stampin’ Up!® Clear Envelope and put a piece of Designer Series Paper and your shaker parts inside it.  I used the True Love Designer Series Paper and the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles that are both in the 2021 January – July Mini Catalog.  Then you just fold it to the size you need using Tear & Tape to keep it folded and sealed.  No messing with adhesive foam strips and acetate.  The envelope works great and is so easy!

The rest of the card did not take a lot of time either.  I cut a rectangle out of the center of a 5.25″ x 4″ piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.   I cut the word “Happy” using the Happy Dies from the Annual Catalog and glued it to the back of the piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock so looked like this:

I attached that to the Clear Envelope also using Tear & Tape and then the envelope to a piece of Basic White cardstock.  I cut out the sentiment using the Banners Pick A Punch and cut out the stars using the Happy Dies.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made.  I have a feeling they will use the easier way to make shaker cards like me.  They were both watching the video.

Happy Birthday to my oldest youngest sister, Katherine.  I hope you have a day as awesome as you are!

Approaching Perfection

Stampin Up Approaching Perfection

I don’t know about you, but I have a Designer Series Paper hoarding problem.  For some crazy reason, it is always so hard to make that first cut.  As a result of this, I end up having boxes and boxes of retired Designer Series Paper that never gets used.  I used to think that I needed to save it in case I decide to use it in one of my stamp classes.  I can’t use that excuse anymore since I am not holding any classes.  Therefore, I have decided to dedicate all my posts this week to making simple cards using Designer Series Paper and a sentiment.

This first card I made is using the Playing With Patterns Designer Series Paper from the Stampin’ Up!® 2020/2021 Annual Catalog.  I used the Night Of Navy polka dot piece for the background and the Purple Posy piece for the balloon.  The balloon and string are part of the Happy Dies which is also in the Annual Catalog.  Can you imagine using a brand new, uncut piece of DSP just for a small balloon?  Really.  Hoarding is a sickness.

I cut two pieces of cardstock (one Night Of Navy and one in Basic White) using the Stitched Nested Labels dies.  The sentiment is from a Sale-a-bration stamp set called Approaching Perfection.  You can get this stamp set for FREE if you purchase the Playing With Patterns DSP, the Stitched Nested Labels and a pack of Basic White cardstock!  Everyone loves FREE!

Stayed tuned for Wednesday’s and Friday’s posts for more cards using my Designer Series Paper.  I am determined to use this beautiful paper more often so you will see more of it in the future.

So Much Happy

Stampin Up So Much HappyWhenever a new mini catalog comes out with lots of new products, I always have to remind myself that there are amazing products in the Annual Catalog too.  I often forget about them so I decided to start using some more often.

So Much Happy is a perfect name for this stamp set.  It is such a fun stamp set with balloons, stars and sentiments and it has an amazing coordinating die set called Happy Dies.  The dies cut out a HUGE Happy along with all the balloons and stars and also has some really nice edge dies.  Both the stamp set and the dies are in the 2020/2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

I first started out by stamping a lot of balloons in Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather.  Then I cut them out using the coordinated dies.  I also cut out all the ballon strings and bows in the same colors and then figured out how I wanted them placed on the card.  I attached some of the balloons using Stampin Seal and some using Dimensionals.  Then I stamped the sentiment “happy” in Versamark and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder and my Heat tool.  Lastly I stamped the birthday sentiment in Highland Heather ink.  I thought all these colors together looked, well, so happy!  Perfect for a birthday card.

Don’t forget the Year End Closeout Sale is still going on.  Products are going fast so order soon before they run out!

So Much Happy

When I first saw the stamp set called So Much Happy, it made me happy because it has lots of balloons.  Who doesn’t like balloons?  What really made me very happy was looking at the matching dies called Happy Dies!  One of the dies cuts out the large “happy” border and I just love it.  It is large and it is different so I knew I would get it right away.  There are 15 stamps in the set and 11 dies.

To make this card I first cut out the word happy in Gray Granite cardstock.  Then I ran each end of it through my die cutting machine using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  I did it this way because I didn’t want the actual word to be embossed.  I backed the word with a piece of the 6″ x 6″ 2020/2022 InColor Designer Series Paper in Bumblebee and layered that on top of a Bumblebee card base.  Then I cut out the banner and the balloons using the same DSP and the balloon strings in the matching cardstock colors.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink onto Bumblebee cardstock and cut it out using a die from Ornate Frames.

By the way, if you purchase the So Much Happy stamp set with the Happy Dies in a bundle you can save 10%.
