New Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine Available Tomorrow

Beginning tomorrow, September 1, 2020 the new Stampin’ Up!® Cut & Emboss Machine will be available to order.  As a Demonstrator I was able to order this machine on August 1st so I have had a month to play with it.  I have to say it is awesome.  It cuts even the most detailed dies quickly and easily.  The platform folds up to save space and the handle is comfortable and easy to turn.  There are rubber feet on the bottom which securely grips your workspace and doesn’t slide all over the place.  It is portable, has a comfortable carrying handle and is simple to use.  I have to say my Big Shot was nice but this is incredible.

Here is a video Stampin’ Up!®  made to show you this machine.

As you can see it comes with everything you need to get started.  Stampin’ Up!® also sells additional plates that will make the experience even better.  The Magnetic Cutting Plate is thin and is a fully magnetic sheet with a self healing cutting mat.  No more jumping dies!  You can also purchase Impression Mats which allows you to emboss designs instead of cutting them.

Here is a short video explaining how the Magnetic Plate works

The item number for the new Stampin’ Up!® Cut & Emboss Machine is #149653

In the future Stampin’ Up!® will also be offering a Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.  It is to ready to order yet but I will let you know when it becomes available.

Tasteful Touches

Stampin Up Tasteful Touches

Stampin’ Up!® has been on a campaign to help beginner stampers.  It is called #simplestamping.  Sometimes we forget that we were once a beginner stamper and didn’t have a clue how to make a card or have many supplies.  I learned at that time that I just needed to keep it simple.  My first Stampin’ Up!® purchase was a Valentine set, Whisper White cardstock, Real red cardstock and Black Ink.  The first cards I made were Valentines for my family and they all loved them.  Everyone needs to start simple and progress from there.

I decided to make a very simple card that just involves stamping with ink to show how simple is still beautiful.  I used the stamp set called Tasteful Touches.  This stamp set does have coordinating dies called Tasteful Labels (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle) but when first starting out you probably would not get them.  I stamped the feather in Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Just Jade and Seaside Spray.  I stamped the sentiment in Smoky Slate.  You don’t need to use all those colors.  One or two would do.

I can’t think of a single person who would not appreciate receiving this card in the mail.  Wouldn’t you?

As a reminder, this is my birthday week. I have decided to celebrate my birthday with you all week by giving FREE Shipping to all my customers who place a $50 order or more with me using the Hostess Code RMHPRSAM.  If you place an order online, I will rebate you the shipping costs by PayPal or if you live locally, I can give you a check.  If you need help ordering, let me know and I can place the order for you.  Remember, you have to use the Hostess Code in order to receive free shipping.  If your order is $150 (excluding tax and shipping) or more, do not use the Hostess Code so that you will get the hostess benefits yourself.  If you do that I will still rebate you the shipping.  This offer ends tomorrow, Saturday, August 29, 2020.

Today’s Tiles

Stampin Up Today's Tiles

The stamp set called Today’s Tiles is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2020/2021 Annual Catalog.  I have a confession to make.  This stamp set was not on my radar for my first order in this catalog but apparently I got my item numbers mixed up and it arrived with that first order.  Since it was not planned, I didn’t get the dies (called Field Tiles Dies) but they are now on my list.  Sometimes mistakes turn out to be a good thing because I really like this set now.

Today’s Tiles is a two step stamp set.  That means it takes two or more stamps to make an image.  Here is a big hint.  You need a Stamparatus (SAR) to match up this image.  I tried to do it using blocks but it was too hard to line up for these old eyes.  The SAR made is really easy to do.  After I stamped both of the images together I liked it so much I decided to go ahead and make up a bunch of them using different colors.  I am sure you will see some of them in the future.

Stampin Up Today's Tiles

As you can see I had a lot of fun making different color combinations.  I think the red and green one looks Christmasy to me and the Smoky Slate and Night Of Navy could definitely be for a masculine card.

I cut the sentiment out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

Here is a picture of Madelyn at her “kindergarten” class.  Schools are not open in Nashville due to COVID 19 so some of their neighbors got together and hired a teacher to help them with online learning.  These shirts made me laugh.  2033 seems so far away!!  Madelyn is the silly one in the middle.

Here is a picture of Emy on her first day of school in Pre-3 with my son, Zachary.  Emy loves to dress up as a princess (as most little girls do).

As a reminder, Sunday was my birthday and I decided to celebrate my birthday with you all week by giving FREE Shipping to all my customers who place a $50 order or more with me using the Hostess Code RMHPRSAM. This offer ends on Saturday, August 29, 2020.

Stitched Leaves & Lovely You

Stampin Up Stitched Leaves

This is a fairly quick and easy card using some new products from the 2020 Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog (otherwise known as the August – December 2020 Mini Catalog).  Although this catalog has more than just holiday themes in it, I still call it the Holiday Catalog.  Old habits are hard to break.

One of the products I used for this card is the Stitched Leaves Dies.  These dies are just awesome.  There are six different leaf dies in the set that cut the outside of the leaf as well as the stitched details on the inside of the leaf.  They coordinate with the Love Of Leaves stamp set (and yes, you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle) although I did not use it on this set.

I chose the largest leaf from the Stitched Leaves Dies on this card with Crushed Curry cardstock first.  Then I stamped the greeting from the stamp set called Lovely You in Mossy Meadow Ink.  This stamp set is also in the Holiday Catalog and has a matching punch called Banners Pick A Punch.  This is my favorite punch of all time.  It cuts out six different sized banners and it is very easy to use.  The banners are in two different shapes and can cut out a 1″, 3/4″ and a 1/2″ banner.

The Designer Series Paper is called Heartwarming Hugs.  At the last minute I decided it needed a little something else so I used the metallic ribbons from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack.

As a reminder, yesterday was my birthday. This offer ends on Saturday, August 29, 2020.

Flowering Blooms

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to another Stamp Off Challenge with Buffy, Jackie and me.  Every other Friday we do a challenge with each other.  We choose the challenges ahead of time but we don’t show each other our creations which makes it fun for us too. Today’s challenge is “Sparkle & Shine”.

I decided to use the new Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper that is in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  This paper is absolutely gorgeous.  It has two sheets of six different background designs as well as some beautiful gold leaves and cut outs.

The colors I used for this card are Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black and of course, the beautiful gold background.  The stamp set I chose is called Forever Blooms.  I used a Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Stampin Write Marker to color the rose and cut it out using the coordinating dies called Flowering Dies (and yes, you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle).  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink and then layered everything together.  I think the gold background of the laser cut paper just adds such elegance.

So now let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made that is sparkly and shiny.  Maybe they used the same Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper I used or it could be Wink of Stella, Foil Sheets or embellishments.  Let’s go see!

Boho Indigo

Stampin Up Boho Indigo

Boho Indigo is a new Product Medley that is in the 2020/2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  It is an amazing kit full of products that include a great stamp set, 12 coordinating dies, tons of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, two spools of ribbon, adorable little flower embellishments and die cuts with gold foil.  One of the best things about this medley is you can purchase a refill kit for it  that includes the Designer Series Paper, die cuts and paper flowers.  I just love this kit.  The thing that is different about this kit versus some of the other kits is you make your own designs.  It is actually more of a suite than a kit.

To make this card I first stamped all the vases and then cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I used Seaside Spray, Night Of Navy and Daffodil Delight.  I stamped one set of leaves on the card base but cut out the other two sets using the dies.  I colored the flowers, which come white, using my Stampin Blends.  That was super easy to do because the ink from the Blends soaked right into the petals of the flowers.  I stamped the sentiment and then punched it out using the new Banners Pick A Punch.  This punch makes 6 different banners in three different sizes.  After I put it all together I decided to add a piece of the Night Of Navy ribbon that comes in this medley of products.  The ribbon is grosgrain but the edges are frayed so it looked very soft.

Here is a close up photograph of everything that comes in this Product Medley.

Forever Fern Swap

This is a card I made for a swap I participated in with some of my downline and some customers.  I love swapping with them.  They are all so talented and their cards are always beautiful.  Swaps in the mail are so much fun.  Not only do you get beautiful cards but you get mail that you can look forward to (unlike bills and ads!).

I used a couple of Stampin’ Up!®  stamp sets to make this card.  I first stamped the jar which is from the stamp set called Jar Of Flowers in Smoky Slate Ink.  Then I took Seaside Spray Blends to color the water in the jar.  Then I stamped all the leaves using Shaded Spruce and Old Olive inks.  Then I did kind of a “no line coloring” technique for the flowers.  This is where you stamp an image very, very lightly and then color it with Stampin’  Write Markers in such a way that you can’t really see the outlines of the flowers.  I used a stamp from Flowering Blooms to do this.  I inked the stamp in Smoky Slate ink and then stamped off twice (this is where you stamp on a piece of scrap paper) before stamping the third time on my card.  I could barely see the outline of the stamp but I could see enough to color it with a Highland Heather and a Gorgeous Grape Marker.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Celebrate Sunflowers.

Ornate Thanks

Stampin Up Ornate Thanks

Here is a quick and easy card to make when you don’t have a lot of time but need to or want to send a card to someone.  I have been sending a lot of cards in the mail just to let people know I am thinking of them or thanking them for various things they have done.  People appreciate being thanked and sending cards is a great way to let people know you care.

To make this card I first stamped two daisies from the stamp set Daisy Lane in Bumblebee ink and then punched them out using the Daisy Punch.  I layered these together using a Stampin’ Up!® Dimensional.  I ran a Whisper White card base through my embossing machine using the Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folder.  I cut a piece of 2020-2022 InColor Designer Series Paper in Misty Moonlight and put a strip of BumbleBee cardstock along one side before adhering it to the card base.  I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Ornate Thanks  in Misty Moonlight ink onto a piece of BumbleBee cardstock and punched it out using the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch.  The entire card took less than ten minutes.

Mountain Air

Stampin Up Mountain Air

This card are partially inspired by a photograph I saw online somewhere and the night view out my window at the cottage.  When there are some clouds at sunset the sky turns a magnificent colors of pink, orange and purple.  It can be breathtaking.  My camera is just a mobile phone so the photos don’t always show how gorgeous the sky is but here is an example of one of our sunsets.

Stampin Up Mountain Air

I decided to try to make a card with this inspiration using the Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Mountain Air.  This stamp set has coordinating dies called Majestic Mountains and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle.  I didn’t use the dies for this card but if you get the stamp set, you just have to get the dies too.

To make this card I first cut a 3.75″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Then I using Stampin’ Up!® Sponges to add the color to the background using Flirty Flamingo ink.  I started it heavier on the bottom and then went lighter as I went up.  Then I stamped the trees at the bottom Memento Black Ink and then a little higher using Highland Heather ink.  I also stamped the mountains in Highland Heather after stamping off first.  Stamping off means to ink up the stamp, stamp in on a scrap piece of paper and then on the cardstock.  It makes the color less vibrant when you do this.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Beautiful Autumn which is in the new Holiday Catalog.
