I know everyone is probably busy making Christmas cards (if you aren’t you better get moving!!) but sometimes I need a break from them.  I love so many of my stamp sets and I think the non-holiday ones feel lonesome during this time of year.  I decided to take out the set called Wild About Flowers and make a thank you card.  The background was made using the Hexagon Hive Thinlits.  It is another one of those products that don’t get a lot of love this time of year.  I love the look of it as a background.
I am sure tomorrow we will be back to our regularly scheduled Christmas program!

Madelyn went to visit her other grandmother this weekend.  Here she is waiting at the airport for a ride home.

I just love the 2013/2015 In Colors.  I love all of them but my two favorites are Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe.  You thrown in Calypso Coral and you have a  beautiful color combination.  The Designer Series Paper called Sweet Sorbet that is in the Sale-a-bration Catalog goes well with these colors.  You can get this Designer Series Paper for FREE with a $50 order!  As a matter of fact you can only get this paper by making a $50 order.  It is not for sale.

I layered a piece of Calypso Coral over the Designer Series Paper after I cut it out with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit.  The trick with this Thinlit is to use a piece of waxed paper between the Thinlit and your cardstock.  It makes it so much easier to get the cardstock out.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Yippee Skippee.

More Occasions Catalog Sneak Peeks

Here is another card I made using items from the upcoming Stampin Up! Occasions Catalog that is coming out January 3, 2014 (Whoa!  I think that is the first time I have typed 2014.  What ever happened to 2013?). Can you count all the new items in this card?  There are actually three new things.  The first is the honeycomb background.  It is a new Thinlits Die called Hexagon Hive.  The second new item is the sentiment Make A Wish.  It is from the stamp set called Perfect Pennants.  The last, and my favorite thing of all, are the banners!  Stampin Up! is going to have Banner Framelits in the new catalog!  No more hand cutting banners!  This is the best!
