Stampin Up Honeybee Home

Things are starting to bloom around Nashville these days. There are beautiful trees with white and purple flowers and the daffodils are out. When we lived in Northern New York that wouldn’t happen until May. That is one of my favorite things about Nashville. There are actually four whole seasons here.

After looking at all the beautiful blooms I decided to take out the Honeybee Home bundle. We don’t have bees out quite this early but some of the flowers are ready for them to come. This bundle includes the stamp set with the same name and the Honeybee Blooms dies. They are in the 2022/2023 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog and if you use the bundle number to order them, you can save 10%.

To make this card, I first stamped the flowers and bees in Memento Black ink and colored them using my Polished Pink, Soft Succulent and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers. Then, I cut them out using the coordinating dies. I cut a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of the Framed Florets Designer Series Paper (retired) and layered it on a Balmy Blue card base. Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Framed Florets stamp set in Evening Evergreen Ink and cut it out using one of the Framed Floret dies. This particular die cuts out the oval frame and the inside at the same time.

I definitely have a love/hate relationship with bees. I love bees because they pollinate the flowers and they are good for the environment, etc but I get stung by those critters a few times every summer. We have a lot of clover in our yard. They hide in the clover and when I walk in our yard they get into my sandals and sting me on the foot or toes and it hurts a lot but there is something about bees and stamping that makes me want to buy the sets. They are just so darn cute!

I made this card for my friend, Char’s birthday. She has a beautiful backyard with a pond and wildflowers so I thought it was fitting. The stamp set I used is called Honeybee Home. It has a set of coordinating dies called Honeybee Blooms (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle). The first thing I did was stamp all the flowers in Old Olive ink and color them using my Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends. Next, I cut out the grass and other plants using Old Olive cardstock. I layered them on a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Next, I cut out the “mound” using the Basic Border Dies. I like how it adds the stitching along the top. Then I cut out a 1/2″ piece of Basic White card stock and stamped the sentiment. Lastly, I stamped the bees in Memento Black Ink and colored them using my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

The Heart & Home Suite that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2022 Annual Catalog consists of two stamp/die bundles, Designer Series Paper, ribbon, embellishments, and embossing folder, Memories & More cards & Envelopes and more. It is a gigantic suite full of beautiful products. If you love the entire bundle you don’t have to input every item on your order. Stampin’ Up!® makes it easy by giving you one number to order it all. This item number even applies the 10% discount you get on the stamp and die bundles. It couldn’t be any easier than that!

To make this card I used the Honeybee Home stamp that is part of the suite. This stamp set has coordinating dies called Honeybee Bloom dies. I didn’t use the dies in that set on this particular card but I have used them in the past. I first stamped the three sets of flowers in Memento Black ink and colored them using Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green and Flirty Flamingo Blends. Then I stamped the bee and colored that using a Bumble Bee Blends. After doing all the coloring I then cut out the rectangle using the large rectangle die from Nature’s Thoughts. I love the little dots it cuts out along the edges of the rectangle.

After this I cut a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of the Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper. This paper is part of a bundle you can get for free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration. I layered that onto a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Fresh Freesia card stock. I used a piece of the Flowers For Every Season ribbon and tied it around the Fresh Layer layers and then adhered it to a Basic White card base. After that I attached the flower piece using Dimensionals. Lastly I embossed the sentiment onto a piece of Basic Black card stock using Versamark and White Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool.

There are so many wonderful new bundles in the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog that it took me a long time to decide what to get. To make it a little easier on me, I just decided to get everything I wanted. It wasn’t great for my budget but it made me happy (which counts as very important, don’t you think?).

Honeybee Home was one of those bundles I wanted right away. I have to say I have a thing about bees. They like to sting my feet and boy, do they hurt! I can’t wear flip flops at the cottage anymore because we have so much clover that the bees hide inside it and inevitably ended up having a bee fly between the bottom of the flip flop and my toes. It happens every summer. For some crazy reason I still love paper bees. They are cute and make great cards.

The Honeybee Home bundle includes the stamp set with the same name and coordinating dies called Honeybee Blooms. Stampin’ Up!® also offers an embossing folder called Hive. These products work so well together. To make this card I first embossed a piece of 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock using the Hive Embossing Folder. Then I cut out a circle using the Layering Circles dies in Bumble Bee card stock (appropriately named) and embossed that with the folder too. I stamped the flowers and the bees in Memento Black Ink and colored the flower using my Stampin’ Up!® Blends in Fresh Freesia and Old Olive and the bees using my Bumble Bee Stampin Write Marker. I adhered it all onto a Bumble Bee card base.

The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment from the stamp set called Sweet As a Peach in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool.

The Honeybee Bundle is actually part of the Heart & Home Suite that includes another bundle called Blessings Of Home, lots of different embellishments and some beautiful Designer Series Paper.
