Hydrangea Haven

Stampin Up Hydrangea Haven

Hydrangea Hill is a suite of products that are in the 2021 January – June Mini Catalog.  This suite includes the stamp set called Hydrangea Haven, coordinating dies called Hydrangea, absolutely gorgeous Designer Series Paper called Hydrangea Hill, beautiful ribbon, Mercury Acetate in different colors and Pastel Pearls.  The pearls are so soft and pretty and come in four different colors.

To make this card, I first used an oval mask (or stencil) I have and put it over a piece of Basic White card stock.  I used some removable tape to keep the cardstock and the mask in place.  I used my Blending Brushes with Seaside Spray Ink and added color to the card stock.  I did it a little darker around the edges and lighter in the middle to give it some depth.

Next I stamped the Hydrangea in Memento Black Ink and colored the leaves in Just Jade using Stampin’ Up!® Blends.   I stamped the flower part of the die again, colored it using my Dark and Light Highland Heather Blends and then cut that out using a different die in the Hydrangea set.  This die cuts out the outline of the flower plus it partially cuts out some of the little flowers within the outline.  Then is bent up the flowers so it looks 3D.  Here is what it looks like up close.

I adhered the flower to the Basic White card stock, stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink and then added some of the Pastel Pearls.

Hydrangea Haven stamp set and the coordinating dies are being carried over to the new Annual Catalog that begins on May 4th.  Seaside Spray ink is retiring so if you like it, you need to order it before that date or before they run out of stock.

Playful Alphabet

Hello everyone.  It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Buffy and me.  This time we have a color challenge.  I don’t know who made up these colors together but they are crazy!  Oh wait.  It was me!

Stampin Up Playful Alphabet I got the idea from the Well Suited Designer Series Paper.  That is the great thing about the Stampin’ Up!® papers.  They give you the colors ahead of time and I love that sometimes they put colors together that I would never think of.  Plus I am still on my goal to actually use most of my Designer Series Paper.  I’m not doing that well but better than I used to.

To make this card I started with a piece of the Well Suited DSP.  I love how the Cajun Craze stripes look Grosgrain ribbon.   Then I had to decide what color would look good with Night Of Navy and Cajun Craze.  I decided BumbleBee looked great with them.   I cut the letters using the Playful Alphabet Die set.  I adhered them to the flags which are part of the Tasteful Labels dies.  I decided to adhere the flags using Dimensionals which gave the card some depth.   I stamped the word “birthday” using the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.  I masked off the word Happy using tape.  Then I cut it out using a die from Hydrangea Dies.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using these crazy colors.

Hydrangea Haven

Whenever I first get a new Stampin’ Up!® catalog I always do a quick run through and write down everything I want.  The problem with that is almost all the products go on that list!  Then I wait a couple of days and go through it again.  Some things on the original list get crossed off completely.  Some of them go on the maybe list.  Then I go through it again and put some things back on the list and take others off.  As you can see, I have a hard time decided what to buy.  The Hydrangea Hill Suite was always on my yes list.

Hydrangeas, irises and roses are my favorite flowers so when I saw this, it was definitely a must have set.  One of the things that Stampin’ Up!® now does is give you one item number for all the products in a suite.  It is such an awesome idea because you don’t have to enter all the different numbers.  One number gets you everything!  I will warn you ahead of time that you will see this suite many, many times on my blog because I love it.

To make this card, I took a piece of of Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper and adhered it to a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock and then onto a Basic White card base.  I stamped the flower using Memento Black Ink and then colored it using my Dark and Light Old Olive, Dark Seaside Spray and Light Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends.  Blue Hydrangeas are my favorite although I love all of the colors they come in.   I cut that out using the coordinating Hydrangea dies and then layered it onto Basic White and Mossy Meadow cardstock. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink.  If you don’t want to order the entire quite you can still get a 10% discount on the stamp set and die Bundle.

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time where you can earn stamp sets or Designer Series Paper for free with a qualifying order.  It is also the best time to join Stampin’ Up!® because you get free Designer Series Paper with your starter kit.
