Last week I had my stamping ladies over for the first time in over a year. Gosh, I missed them. The last time I had them over was February 2020. Then, of course, the pandemic hit and the world practically stopped. It was so nice to be able to get back together and have some fun.
One of the cards we made using the stamp set called Sweet Ice Cream. This stamp set has a coordinating punch called Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch. The card we made is a fun fold card. It actually opens two ways. First you lift the flap that the ice cream cone is on and then you open the diagonally cut card base.
To make this card I first cut the front of Basic White card base diagonally from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Then I layered a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Pattern Party Designer Series Paper on the back piece. This DSP is amazing. It is only available as a hostess benefit. There are 48 12″ x 12″ pieces of DSP in the pack. One side has fun colorful patterns while the other side is black and white. Then I cut another piece 4″ x 5.25″ and then cut it diagonally in half. I layered that on the front of the card base.
After I did this, I cut a piece of Basic White card stock 3.25″ x 8.5″ and folded it in half. I layered a 3″ x 4″ piece of the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper on that and a 2″ x 3″ piece of Basic White card stock on top. I stamped the ice cream scoop in Pale Papaya and Pool Party ink and punched them out using the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch. I stamped the ice cream cone lines using Soft Suede ink onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and cut that out using the punch too. I stamped both sentiments (the one on the Pale Papaya ice cream scoop and the one inside the card using Pool Party ink.
All I can say is I hope this pandemic thing never happens again. It sure was fun to get together and do some stamping and some snacking with lots of talking and laughter.
