A Fruit Basket Wreath

This past weekend we moved into our cottage. It was a beautiful but cool day and we were so happy to be here. Emma, on the other hand was not very happy. Last time we were here one of the smoke detectors was beeping and it freaked her out. When we arrived on Saturday she would not get out of the car. It is funny how dogs have this long term memory. She loved the cottage last year but there was no way she was having anything to do with it this year. We left her in the car with the doors open for at least an hour. Finally Rob had to pull her out. She was not a happy camper. Rob and I, on the other hand were ecstatic to be here. So, now you have to put up with my sunset pictures for a few months. Here is the first sunset of the year.

Now you know why we love the cottage. We get to look at this every night!

I made this “wreath” card using the stamp set Fruit Basket. It is in the 2018 Occasions Catalog and it is not being carried over. How sad. It has matching mini punches called Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack. You can save 10% by purchasing it in a Bundle until May 31st. Then both items will be gone forever.

In order for me to make this card I used my Stamparatus. This tool is amazing. You can do so much with it. Basically you stamp the first strawberry and then turn the cardstock and stamp the next one. You do this until there is a circle of strawberries. Then I did the same thing with the pear. The colors I used were Pear Pizzazz, Real Red, Crumb Cake (for the banner), Daffodil Delight (for the Pineapple) and Basic Black for the sentiment.

The Stamparatus will be in the new Annual Catalog that comes out on June 1st. You definitely need to own this. You will love it!

This is the third card we made at our monthly stamping club meeting. I do have to say I have the best ladies in my club. They are all very nice and so much fun. We get along so well and I look forward to seeing them every month. Some of them have been with me since I started ten years ago. I must be doing something right. Thank you, ladies. I appreciate each and every one of you.

To make this card I used the stamp set called Fruit Basket. I stamped the basket outline with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Pool Party cardstock and then cut it out by hand. Thankfully it has pretty straight lines so it was not hard to cut out. Then I stamped the pears using Pear Pizzazz ink and punched them out with the adorable mini punches that match the stamp set (you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle). I hand colored the stems using a Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker. I put the pears and basket onto a circle I cut out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

The Designer Series Paper we used isn’t really Designer Series Paper! I used the cardstock from the Tutti-Fruitti Cards & Envelopes pack in the Sale-a-bration Catalog. Fruit Basket

I have to say, Mother Nature must be really mad at us. It has been a crazy winter all over the country. We have had a lot of 20 to 30 degree BELOW zero days. I live in the North Country so we are used to cold weather but that is colder than should be allowed! My poor sister lives in Savannah, GA and she had snow!! She hasn’t seen snow down there in a very long time, if at all. I feel bad for her because they are just not prepared. There aren’t snow plows and sanders. She doesn’t have a fluffy down jacket. She was freezing! I don’t even want to think about the people down there driving. It must have been a nightmare!

Fruit Basket is a new stamp set in the 2018 Occasions Catalog. I love all things fruit! Every time Stampin’ Up! comes out with a fruit stamp I have to have it but if it has matching punches or dies, I am in heaven. Well guess what! There is not one matching punch to this set. There are FOUR matching punches and they are called Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack. Yes, they are little but they are so cute! PLUS, there is Designer Series Paper called Tutti-Fruitti and Tutti-Fruitti Adhesive Backed Sequins. No more messing with glue. You just take them off the sheet they come on and stick them on your card. It couldn’t be any easier! There is also matching Washi Tape and ribbon!
