Another Watercooler Challenge

Banner1

It is that time again for another Watercooler Challenge.  This time the challenge was given to us by Bev and it is a Fun Fold Challenge.  Fun Folds are always so much fun to make and the people who get them are usually pleasantly surprised!

Here is my entry for this challenge.

Fun Fold, KInda Eclectic

DSC02807 Fun Fold, Kinda Eclectic

When you first look at the card, it just looks normal but then you open it and see that it is not at all.  The cardstock is a 8.5″ square.  Then you score it in half one way and then turn it 90 degrees and score it in half again.  Then you score it corner to corner both ways and fold. Your cardstock should look like this:

I used the stamp set called Kinda Eclectic.  The colors are Soft Sky, Tip Top Taupe and Wild Wasbi.  The ribbon is the 1″ Dotted Lace Trim in Tip Top Taupe.

A Simple Kinda Eclectic

Kinda Eclectic, Lovely Amazing You

I made this very simple one layer card using the stamp set called Kinda Eclectic.  When this set first came out, I used it so much but then I kind of forgot about it until recently.  Now you will probably see lots of cards using it!

I stamped the leaves in Lost Lagoon, Soft Sky, So Saffron and Crisp Cantaloupe.  I think it turned out to be a very pretty color combination (although a little odd too).  The sentiment is from the Photopolymer Stamp Set called Lovely Amazing You.  It is not in any catalog but you can still order it.  Remember, there is a link above that shows all the merchandise that is available to purchase that is not in any catalog.

Make sure you stop by tomorrow to see the Retirement List.  I am so sad that Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana are leaving us.  They are two of my all time favorite colors.

Kinda Eclectic

Kinda Eclectic

I made this very simple card using the stamp set called Kind Eclectic.  I was trying to figure out what sentiment should go on it when I decided to just leave it blank.  If it doesn’t have a specific sentiment then you can use it for anything!

Here is a little tip.  Sometimes when I am not sure about where to put a sentiment, what color to use and/or what stamp to use, I will stamp one on a plain piece of Whisper White card stock and just lay it over the card in different places.  That way you can see where it looks the best.  Once you figure out where it would look the best you can stamp it in the right spot.  That way you don’t ruin a card if you happen to not like where you put it.

Sheltering Tree Club Card

Sheltering Tree, Kinda Eclectic

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly Club Meeting in February.  It uses one of my favorite stamp sets from the 2015 Occasion Catalog called Sheltering Tree.  It is a Photopolymer Stamp Set which makes it very easy to line up two step stamps such as the little flowers in this card.  Photopolymer stamps are clear so once you ink them you can see exactly where to stamp them.  The sun in this card is from the stamp set called Kinda Eclectic.  We used a marker to color it because the rays on this stamp are really long.  We used the “thumping” technique on the leaves of the tree.  This is where you ink the stamp up (we used Pear Pizzazz) and then you take a marker (Garden Green) and tap it lightly all over the stamp.  This is how you get some of the leaves to be a darker color

One Layer Card For a Workshop

Kinda Eclectic

I did a workshop for the first time in a long time last month.  It was a small group and a few of them had never stamped before.  I needed to demo a card so I thought a one layer card would be perfect.  It would show them how easy it is to make a card even if all you have are some stamps, ink and cardstock.  Of course, I did step it up just a bit at the end and added the butterfly.  Honestly, they all went oooh  and aaah and talked about how easy it was.  I guess I did my job!  I used the stamp set called Kinda Eclectic.  I love this set because it does have so many unconnected images that all go so well together.  What is keeping you from stamping?  All you need is a few stamps, ink and cardstock to start!Blog Signature-001

Kinda Eclectic Birthday Card

Kinda Eclectic

I have a few friends who have birthdays in late November or December.  One thing they all have in common.  They do not like their birthday presents wrapped in Christmas paper and they don’t like Christmas themed birthday cards.  I can’t really blame them.  If their birthday was in April or June, they would not have their presents wrapped with Christmas wrap.  Well, maybe they wouldn’t.  I do remember wrapping my son David’s birthday present in Christmas wrapping paper but in my defense it was a double sided paper with a plaid on one side and Christmas trees on the other.  I did use the plaid.

I made this card using Kinda Eclectic, Beautiful Bunch and Hey You stamp sets.  All three of them are in the annual catalog so no worries about using Christmas themed stamps!

A Kinda Eclectic Amazing Birthday

Kinda Eclectic, Amazing Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday (thank you for all the birthday wishes).   My oldest friend (well she is not my oldest friend age-wise but has been my friend since we were 16) came to visit and I haven’t seen her in years.  She looks exactly the same as she did when we were 16 and we picked up our friendship as if we had seen each other just yesterday.

I thought that since it was such an amazing day I would use the stamp set called Amazing Birthday.  I also used the sun image from Kinda Eclectic for the background.  That stamp is a great way to highlight something because of all the rays.  The little arrow is a new punch from the Annual Catalog called What’s Up.

Card For An Art Class

Kinda Eclectic

I was asked if I wanted to teach a class at the local Art Center.  A friend of mine, Amy, is on the Board of Directors and she hooked me up with the Executive Director of the Center.  It was a little intimidating but I had a great time.

The first card we made used the stamp set called Kinda Eclectic.  This is one of my favorite sets (today, as we all know that changes on a daily basis!).  I used Garden Green, Tangerine Tango, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss to make this card.  The little flowers are from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and the butterfly was punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

Kinda Eclectic Screen Card

Kinda Eclectic, Screen Card

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly Club Meeting.  I am sure you have seen these screen cards on the internet before because they are all the rage.  I don’t know who actually thought up the idea in the first place, but I thought it was a very cute idea.  The card is actually very easy to make.  You start with a piece of cardstock that is 8.25 x 6 (I used Crumb Cake).  Then you score it at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″.  The Decorative Label Punch is used to cut out the “legs” of the card.  The panels (I used Very Vanilla) are 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.  That stamp set we used is called Kinda Eclectic.

Kinda Eclectic

Kinda Eclectic

Kinda Eclectic is one of those stamp sets that didn’t really catch my eye until I started seeing a lot of card samples online.  Stampin’ Up! gave this set away to all attendees at their Convention this year in Salt Lake City.  I knew I had to have it after seeing all the beautiful cards.

For this card, I used some the the 2014/2016 In Colors (Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey).  The little hearts in the corner are from a new punch called Heart Border Punch.  I had used it to make another card and was left with all these little hearts.  They are adorable so I just attached some in the corner.
