One of the things we love about leaving the cottage and coming back to Nashville is we get to experience summer for a longer period of time. Right now in Northern New York it is in the low 60’s (which is still very nice but not quite summery). Last week in Nashville it was in the high ninties. Yikes! It was hot, hot hot. It was also very humid. New York rarely gets into the 90’s so we are not used to it. Thankfullly it cooled off a bit last weekend (which means the 70’s which is perfect!).
Even though the trees are still very green here in Nashville, I wanted to make a Fall card using Fall colors. I used the embellishment kit called Leaf Label & Amber Gems Combo Pack. The leaves in this kit are a bit darker than Crumb Cake. I think they are more like the Kraft Note Cards that Stampin’ Up!® sells. I took a couple of these leaves and pressed them into my Cajun Craze ink pad to give them some color. I think there might be some kind of coating on the leaves because the ink did not dry immediately. I had to use my Heat Tool to dry them. The Heat Tool is great for drying Pigment inks too. Pigment inks don’t absorb into card stock like dye inks do. They sit on top of the paper so you need to give them time to dry.
Next, I ran a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock through my Cut & Emboss Machine using the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder. I also ran a 1 1/8″ of Cajun Craz card stock through my Machine using the Tasteful Textile 3D folder. I adhered all these pieces onto a Cajun Craze card base. Lastly, I added the hot foiled sentiment (Pinkfresh) and some of the Amber Gems.
