Rooted In Nature

This is a fun technique I got from Jennifer McGuire.  Everyone in the stamping world knows who Jennifer McGuire is.  She is extremely talented and makes everything look very easy.  She does these easy to follow videos so you can see how to do something step by step.  She calls this technique Step Back Stamping.  This is where the stamped images are set back from their coordinating die cuts.

To make this card I first stamped the tree from Rooted In Nature onto Whisper White A2 (5.5″ x 8.5″) cardstock folded in half with Tranquil Tide ink .  I used my Stamparatus to do this because you need to stamp it twice in the same place. Without moving the stamp I took a piece of Soft Sea Foam the same size as my whisper white card (5.5″ x 4.25″) stamped it again with my Stamparatus.  Then I cut the piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock to 1.75″ high so it is now 1.75″ x 5.5″.  You end up cutting part of the tree off which is what you want to do.  After this you take the matching die from Nature’s Roots Framelits and cut out the tree from the Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  Then you use Dimensionals to adhere the Sea Foam pieces over the Whisper White cardstock.

The sentiment is from Love What You Do.

Love What You Do

This is a quick and easy card to make.  I needed a thank you card and couldn’t find any at the cottage.  I’ll have to remember to bring some from the house next time I go there.  It only took about 10 minutes to make.

I used the stamp set called Love What You Do. It is part of the Share What You Love Suite by Stampin’ Up!.  It has this great stamp set with flowers, leaves and some great sentiments.

This Suite also includes an embossing folder called Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions.  This means the folder is thicker than a regular embossing folder so it makes a deeper impression.  When you use these Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folders you only use one Big Shot plate on the top with the Platform.

Here is a close up of the impression:

The colors I used for this card are Highland Heather, Basic Black and Whisper White.  I colored the flowers using the Highland Heather Stampin’ Write Marker.

Love What You Do

I received this beautiful card in the mail the other day.  It was made by Diana Gibbs who is an amazing Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator from Arizona.  Diana is so much fun.  She often presents at Stampin’ Up! events and she always has us all laughing.

I was looking at her blog a couple of weeks ago and she did this before and after picture of herself on it.  She had used some new eye cream and wanted to show the results of it.  It really was quite amazing.  Now I know most of you ladies out there have tried numerous skin care regiments that don’t work.  I have a drawer full of stuff I have tried.  Actually, I don’t know why I don’t throw them out.  In any case, I did a lot of research about the products she was taking about and decided I liked what I read.

The name of the company is Ever Skin.  The company works like Stampin’ Up! where you purchase products through a Specialist (Demonstrator).  They only use “good for you” ingredients that have been proven to work.  I bought a kit from Diana (hence the thank you card) and started using the products.  I really love them.  It has only been a few weeks but my skin just feels and looks better.  They smell good too which is important to me.  Who wants to use something that stinks!!   In any case, I decided to become a Specialist just to get a 25% discount off the products (like a Hobby Demo).  They just added a makeup line too.  I have tried the mascara and I really like it.  I am very sensitive to a lot of products and I have had no issues with any of the Ever products.  You can read more about the company and the products if you wish by clicking HERE (or click on the link to the right of this post).

To make this fun fold card, Diana used a stamp set called Love What You Do.  This set is part of the Share What You Love Suite that will be in the new catalog.  It includes the stamp set, the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, embellishments, ribbon and the Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Isn’t it beautiful!!!

During the month of May you can buy three different Bundles using these products.  The first bundle gives you one free item (the Very Vanilla Notecards & Envelopes).  The second bundle gives you Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes and The Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.  The third bundle gives you the Statement Of The Heart stamp,Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes and The Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.  May is the only month you can get these bundles with the free items in it.  In June everything can be purchased separately.

Love What You Do, Share What You Love

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  The products are from the Share What You Love Bundle that is now available for pre-order.  They are all products that will be in the 2018/2019 Annual Catalog that begins June 1st but Stampin’ Up! has made them available during the month of May.

To make this card we used some of the new colors that will be available.  The colors are Grapefruit Grove, Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss.  Behind the sentiment is one of the Pearlized Doilies that are included in two of the Bundles.  One side of the Doilies is a pearly silvery color.  The other side is Whisper White.  We sponged the Whisper White side with Mint Macaron Ink.

Below are the Bundles that are available.  With Bundle #1 you get one free item, Bundle #2 has two free items and Bundle #3 has three free items. These Bundles are only available until May 31st.  After that the free merchandise goes away.  You can also order the new InColor Ink Pads Bundle during the month of May.

OnStage Sneak Peeks

By now you should know that I went to OnStage a couple of weeks ago.  OnStage is like a mini Convention.  Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the world met in different places all on the same day.  We each received a copy of the 2018/2019 Annual Catalog that begins on June 1st.  We also got to play with some of the products that are in that new catalog.

The first card is made using some of the products in a Suite called Share What You Love.  It includes the stamp set called Love What You Do, Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, new cardstock colors, an embellishment kit, beautiful Pearlized Doilies, velvet ribbon and an embossing folder.  The card base for this card is a returning color called Mint Macaron.

The next card we made used a suite called Graceful Glass.  This suite has a stamp set called Painted Glass with matching dies also called Painted Glass.  It also has Graceful Glass 6″ x 6″ Designer Velum that looks like stained glass windows, Black Cord and Tinted Faceted Buttons.  The card base on this card is a new InColor called Lovely Lipstick.  It is a beautiful color that you will love!

If you would like to attend an OnStage event you need to Join the Stampin’ Up! family because only Demonstrators can go to these events.  The next one is going to be in Orlando in November.

In the meantime, if you would like a copy of the new Annual Catalog when it comes out in June, let me know!  They are free if you come pick one up and if you live far away, you only have to pay the cost of shipping!
