Lovely You

Stampin Up Lovely YouI had a crazy but fun few days last week.  I went to my son, Sam’s house to help take care of the kids while his wife, Tara was away.  Both Nolan and Madelyn are in school so it definitely was not a hard thing to do.  My son, Sam works crazy hours so I just had to help get them up and to school, pick them up from school and do the usual night time stuff with them.  I forget how much you really do need to do to get everyone out of the house on time.  It used to be second nature to me but I am a little out of practice. They pretty much know what to do themselves, you just have to prod them now and then.

Since I was not home much I had to make a quick and easy card for today.  Although it was simple to make, I still think it is pretty enough to send.  I used the stamp set called Lovely You to make the background.  I just stamped the leaves and flowers kind of randomly spread out.  I used Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Parakeet Party and Polished Pink inks.  Lovely You has a coordinated punch called Lovely Labels but I did not use it with this card.

After stamping all the leaves and flowers,  I took a 1/2″ x 3.75″ piece of Basic White card stock, stamped the sentiment from the Sending Smiles stamp set can adhered it to the middle of the images. Sending Smiles has a lot of great sentiments that can be used for many different occasions.  Then I placed that on a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock and a Basic White card base.  Simple as pie (whoever made up that saying never made a pie because they are not that simple!).

I decided that the last minute to add some Glossy Dots around the flowers and leaves to add a little sparkle to the card.

Lovely You

Stampin Up Lovely YouAlthough Stampin’ Up!® offers a variety of Designer Series Paper packs, there are just times when you can’t find the right design or you want to use different colors.  To solve this you can make your own designs using stamp sets.  This is exactly what I decided to do using the Lovely You stamp set.  Lovely You has a lot of smaller leaf and flower images that are perfect to make your own DSP.  Plus it has eleven different sentiments which can cover any occasion or sentiment you want.

The background on this card was quick and easy to make. I first randomly stamped one of the flower images in Mango Melody ink on a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Basic White card stock.  Then I stamped another one using Coastal Cabana followed by Granny Apple Green and the smallest stamp using Highland Heather ink until I felt that the background was done. I cut the piece down to 3.75″ x 5″.   Next I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink on a 3/4″ wide piece of Mango Melody card stock.  Then I cut out one end using the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch.  I then punch out a 1″ piece of Granny Apple Green card stock and layered them together.  I layered the background piece onto a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ of Mango Melody card stock and a Granny Apple Green card base.

Stitched Leaves & Lovely You

Stampin Up Stitched Leaves

This is a fairly quick and easy card using some new products from the 2020 Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog (otherwise known as the August – December 2020 Mini Catalog).  Although this catalog has more than just holiday themes in it, I still call it the Holiday Catalog.  Old habits are hard to break.

One of the products I used for this card is the Stitched Leaves Dies.  These dies are just awesome.  There are six different leaf dies in the set that cut the outside of the leaf as well as the stitched details on the inside of the leaf.  They coordinate with the Love Of Leaves stamp set (and yes, you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle) although I did not use it on this set.

I chose the largest leaf from the Stitched Leaves Dies on this card with Crushed Curry cardstock first.  Then I stamped the greeting from the stamp set called Lovely You in Mossy Meadow Ink.  This stamp set is also in the Holiday Catalog and has a matching punch called Banners Pick A Punch.  This is my favorite punch of all time.  It cuts out six different sized banners and it is very easy to use.  The banners are in two different shapes and can cut out a 1″, 3/4″ and a 1/2″ banner.

The Designer Series Paper is called Heartwarming Hugs.  At the last minute I decided it needed a little something else so I used the metallic ribbons from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack.
