One of my favorite things about moving to Nashville (being near my grandchildren is #1!) is the weather. It is now the beginning of March and there are flowering trees and daffodils in bloom already. When I lived in Northern New York that might happen in May but it has also been known to snow in May. We used to say “there are two seasons in Northern New York: Winter and July.”. It was not an exaggeration. Last year when we moved to the cottage the week before Memorial Day, it was so cold Rob and I had a fire going in the fireplace and the heat on. I don’t think it warmed up until mid to late June! It was mighty cold!
Flowering Rain Boots is a new stamp set in the 2022 January – June MIni Catalog. It has a set of coordinating dies called Rain Boots. You can save 10% if you purchase them in a Bundle. Normally, whenever a new bundle of dies and stamps is introduced by Stampin’ Up!® , they offer a bundle discount. If the bundle is carried over into the next Annual Catalog, the bundle discount goes away. I say “normally” because it is what usually happens but not always. Some bundle discounts do carry over but we don’t know which ones will. My point is, if you like this bundle or any other bundle in the Mini Catalog, you should purchase it before the catalog expires so you can save some money.
Anyway, all these blooming flowers made me want to make a spring card with spring colors. In this case, I used Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green. The first thing I did to make this card is to cut the diamond background die in Blushing Bride card stock three times. Then I adhered it to a 5.5″ x 4″ piece of Basic White card stock using Multipurpose Glue. I stamped three pots in Calypso Coral ink and cut them out using the coordinating dies. Then I stamped the tulips in Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight ink and cut them out using a die. I decided I wanted to mix up the colors of the tulips in each pot so I hand cut them all part in sections of two and three flowers. I stamped the stems in Granny Apple Green and cut them out using the dies. The stems ended up being too wide for the pots so I cut a piece off of each of them. There is actually a separation of the stems in the stamp so it was easy to cut them apart. I adhered all of the tulips, stems and pots using Dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the stamp set called Many Messages. Many messages is one large stamp and has a coordinating die that cuts out all the sentiments at once. I stamped it in Memento Black ink and cut them out. Now I have a bunch of other sentiments all cut out to use at a later time.
Today is my middle son, Sam’s birthday. Sam is an amazing man and I am very proud of him. Happy birthday, Sam. Love you.

I used the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper for this first card. It is so beautiful and even nicer in person. I first took a card base of Gorgeous Grape cardstock, folded it in half and cut an inch off on side. I layered a piece of the DSP on the inside of the card and another piece on the outside. I stamped the sentiment (which is from an old Paper Pumpkin kit because I didn’t have a Happy Mother’s Day stamp. Can you believe that??) in Gorgeous Grape Ink and then colored the flowers and leaves using a Seaside Spray and Old Olive Stampin Blends. Then I cut it out using the Layering Ovals (also retiring on May 3rd). I cut a larger oval out of Gorgeous Grape cardstock and the larger scalloped oval out of Purple Posy.
