A Masculine Stamp Off Challenge

TGIF!  It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge.  This time Jackie gave us a challenge to make a masculine card.  These are probably the hardest to do (for me).

Here is my card:

I decided to use the stamp set called Balloon Adventures.  This set is in the Occasions Catalog.  I am really hoping it will make it into the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.  I guess we will find that out on June 1st!.  If I had my way, most of the sets in the Occasions Catalog will carry over but I don’t always have my way.  I can only hope!

I used Designer Series Paper from two different packages.  The gray piece is from the Sale-a-bration pack called Carried Away.  You can get this package of Designer Series Paper for free with a qualifying order until the end of March.  Then it will disappear forever.  The Night of Navy DSP is from a pack in the Annual Catalog called Floral Boutique.  One of the things about DSP in the Annual Catalog is that it rarely carries over to the next catalog.  So if you like it, you need to get it soon.

Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made.  I am sure we will all be pleasantly surprised.  They are two awesome stampers and I am honored to be included in this group with them.

A Shiny Christmas Wreath

Square Pillow Box, Christmas Greetings Thinlits

Stampin’ Up sells this awesome Foil Paper in three different colors.  You can get it in Gold, Silver and now Red (Red is in the 2015 Holiday Catalog).  I know it is hard to see from the picture but this Foil Paper is so shiny and bright.  It is a great way to add a little elegant sparkle to your projects.

I made the wreath using one of the dies that come in the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies.  It cuts out 3 little leaves.  That set also includes a die that cuts out little pumpkins and trees.  I cut the “merry” out using the die set called Christmas Greetings.  Both of these sets are in the Holiday Catalog.  Lastly, the little bow on top of the wreath is a die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies set which is in the Annual Catalog.

I just realized that I did absolutely no stamping on this card!

Simply Celebrate With Stars

Minit Treat Bag, My Paper Pumpkin

Here is a simple card I made using a die from the Stampin’ Up! Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  This set actually comes with 12 different dies.  One of them is the line of stars that you can see on this card.  I needed to run it through my Big Shot twice to make this big of a line but it was super easy to do.  I ran it through once and then lined up the last star with the first star on the die and ran it through again.

The sentiment is from a My Paper Pumpkin previous kit.  That is one thing that is really nice about these kits.  You get to make the cards but you can still keep the stamps (and the ink spot) to use again.  My Paper Pumpkin is only $19.95 a month (and that includes shipping) so it is really a nice deal when you think about the extra stamps you get.

Now, for the cutest picture of Madelyn ever!  She is smiling for the first time!  Isn’t she precious!!

Mom Is 90 Today!

Perpetual Calendar

Today is my mother’s 90th birthday!  She is amazing for being 90.  She still lives on her own and drives (well that part is a little scary) and is very healthy.  She is the only 90 year old I know that doesn’t take any medications other than vitamins.  She still needlepoints, is an avid reader and volunteers at the local library.  I can only hope I am half as healthy as she is at her age.

I made this card using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and the stamp set called Perpetual Calendar.  I actually love this set because it has a ton of little stamps that can be used for a background.  There are stars, hearts, leaves, flowers, starbursts and many other shapes.  I think this set is overlooked because it goes with a kit, but you can just buy the stamps if you want.

Happy birthday Mom!

Mini Treat Bags Thinlits

Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Chevron Border Punch

One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! Thinlits is that they often have a lot of different shapes included with each set.  For example, The “for you” in this card was actually cut out with a Thinlit that is included in the Mini Treat Bags Thinlits Die set.  This set also has the word “enjoy” included with it as well as a banner, a die that looks like Washi Tape, a bow and a bunch of others.  So you can mix and match all the dies to make great projects.

Mini Treat Bags

Mini Treat Bag Thinlits

I had such a fun time making these Mini Treat Bags for my Club Members.  I used the new Mini Treat Bag Thinlits that is in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  It is so easy to put them together so it only takes a couple of minutes.  The great thing about this set of Thinlits is that is has ten other pieces in it besides the ones you need to make the bags.  The “for you” and “enjoy” words are included as well as a star, heart, star border, heart border, banners and a bow.  I put a full sized dark chocolate candy bar inside each one.  You know the thing about dark chocolate, right?  You are supposed to eat one piece of it everyday in order to help prevent Alzheimers.  I read this online and you know, everything you read online has to be true, right?  I told the ladies it was not candy.  It was medicine!  Of course, they loved that justification!
