Beauty Abounds

This is a quick and easy card to make when you are in a hurry to send a birthday card (because you forgot about a very important someone in a moment of forgetfulness) but you still want to make a card and not purchase one.  Really though, does anyone buy cards anymore?  If you do I can show you a way to make your own very easily.

The colors I used for this card are Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral.  I used the stamp set called Beauty Abounds to stamp the bubbles.  This set actually has two bubble stamps in different sizes and they are my favorite part of this set.  I thought the card needed a bit more so I used a small stamp from Painted Harvest to add the little dots in Granny Apple Green.

I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink using the stamp set called Itty Bitty Birthdays.

Today is my sister, Emily’s birthday. (This isn’t the card I made for her.  I forgot to take a picture of that one). Emily is an amazing person.  She is kind, patient and thoughtful.  I wish I could be half the person she is.  I hope you have a wonderful birthday, Emily!

Beautiful Friendship

Hello everyone.  Today’s BS & J Productions challenge is a color challenge.  I love color challenges!

I love Pretty Peacock  but never thought to put it with Mint Macaron and Blueing Bride but I love how they look together.  Here is my card:

To make this card I used the stamp set called Beautiful Friendship.  This set is in the Stampin’ Up!®  2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  This set is a DisInktive stamp set which is a patent pending stamp set that shows depth by having the images stamp lighter and darker in different places.  I love the Hydrangea image in this set (Hydrangeas are my favorite flower).  If you look at the image you can see how some of it stamps darker and some is lighter.

I first stamped the Hydrangea in Blushing Bride and then cut it out using the Stitched Shapes dies.  Then I ran a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock through my die cut and embossing machine using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink on a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock and cut that out using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  I stamped the leaves from the stamp set called Painted Harvest and punched them out using the Leaf Punch.  Lastly, I colored one of the hearts from the Heart Epoxy Droplets using my Dark Pretty Peacock Stampin Blends.  The Designer Series Paper is from the 6″ x 6″ Subtles Designer Series Paper packs.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using these colors.

Painted Harvest

Now that we have left the cottage and are back living in our “normal” house, I have started to enjoy the Fall season.  When I am at the cottage I want nothing but sunshine and warm, sunny weather.  Once we move back, I am ready for Fall.  By the way, I am never ready for winter win case you wondered!

Our house is surrounded by beautiful trees that turn the most amazing colors in the Fall.  There are bright yellows, oranges and reds.  My favorite is the Red Maple.  It is also a time for pumpkins and sunflowers.  I have never grown sunflowers but I love watching the time lapse videos showing how they actually follow the sun when they are young plants.  You can find a ton of these videos on YouTube.

I used the stamp set called Painted Harvest to make this sunflower card.  I drew the stems with a Stampin’  Write Marker.  The colors I used are Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Soft Suede.

Painted Harvest

Painted Harvest is a new stamp set that is in the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  I think it is the most popular set in the catalog.  It is a two step stamp set which means it takes two or  more stamps to make one image.  This stamp set has a matching punch called Leaf Punch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

When this stamp set first came out I thought it was defective.  The biggest flower did not stamp very well.  It was light on one side and darker on the other. It was kind of blotchy.  It turns out it is supposed to be like that!  It is supposed to have the look of a watercolor flower.  The separate stamps are  not meant to line up perfectly because, as you know, nature is not perfect.  As you can see, it makes a beautiful image.

Colorful Seasons

Colorful Seasons and Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies are going to be on my blog a lot in the next few weeks.  Actually, you will probably see them even more often than that because this Bundle covers every season there is.

Right now the leaves are starting to turn up here so expect to see a lot of colorful leaf cards and projects.  It is kind of weird though.  When I look out my window there is a tree to the right that has already turned a reddish orange.  Then there is a tree to my left that is still completely green.  You can see this all over right now and makes me wonder why this happens.  I guess it is like flowers.  Some are spring bloomers and others don’t bloom until late summer.

This card was super easy to make.  I just cut out a bunch of leaves using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.  The colors I used are Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green.  The tree branch is cut from Basic Gray cardstock.  If you look closely you can see I sponged the background with Soft Sky.  When I was putting it all together I felt it needed a little extra color.  The sentiment is from Painted Harvest.

Sorry For Everything

Although I love to make cards, I am never happy to have to make a sympathy card.  It is funny (well not funny) but I never used to send sympathy cards.  I don’t know why.  I just didn’t.  I don’t ever remember my parents getting sympathy cards when their parents passed away so maybe it was just something they didn’t do either.  Then my step father died and I received so many beautiful cards.  It made a difference knowing I was going through a tough time and my friends cared enough to send (and make) me a card.

Stampin’ Up! came out with a new stamp set in the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.  It is called Sorry For Everything and it really fits everything.  It covers everything from forgetting a birthday to the loss of a pet.  It includes break ups, get well, retirement, moving and so much more.  It is a set everyone should own.

Although it is hard to tell, this card is a fun fold card.  The Designer Series Paper I used is called Eastern Palace.  The flower is from Colorful Season and cut out using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.  The leaf is from a set in the 2017 Holiday Catalog called Painted Harvest and the matching Leaf Punch.

Painted Harvest

This is the second card we made at our monthly stamp club meeting.  This card uses a few new products that are in the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  Do you have a copy of this catalog yet?  If not you can pick one up for free from me!

The first set we used is called Painted Harvest.  This set has a matching punch called Leaf Punch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I didn’t use the leaf punch for this card but you definitely should get it.  There have been so many times I wish we had a leaf punch and now we do!

The second new stamp set we used is called Labels to Love.  This set also matches a brand new punch called Everyday Label Punch.  Although this punch matches the stamp set there is no Bundle for it BUT the Everyday Label Punch matches a different stamp set in the catalog called Merry Little Labels.  If you buy those in a Bundle you can save 10%. I think it is great that there are two stamp sets to match one punch.  It makes the punch that much more versatile!

Painted Harvest

Here is another new stamp set that is in the 2017 Holiday Catalog.  This one is called Painted Harvest.  This stamp set has an amazing matching punch called Leaf Punch and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a  Bundle.  I have been waiting for a leaf punch forever (and so have my customers).  I think it will be very popular so if you like it, order it soon.

The stamp set is a two step stamp set.  This means you use two or more stamps to make one image.  As you can see in the card the flowers are two colors.  I stamped the background flower in Peekaboo Peach and the inner part of the flower with Pumpkin Pie ink.  The leaves are in Lemon Lime Twist and the flower centers are Crumb Cake.

The stamp set and Punch are part of a suite that Stampin’ Up! offers.  I love that they put products together in a suite so there is no guessing what products go together.  The suite has Designer Series Paper called Painted Autumn, 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and Touches of Nature Elements which are flowers and leaves in white washed wood.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Beautiful Bouquet.

I do have to say, as much as I love all the new products, I am having a hard time getting myself to sit down and stamp.  The problem is I have this view to look at every day and every night.  It is hard to keep my eyes off of.  I’ll be better when we move back home and my view is of the basement walls!
