Time Of The Year Birthday Card

Time Of Year

Here is another card I made that I forgot to post.  I don’t know what is going on with me that I keep making these cards and then forget to share them.  I usually put them in a pile so I know I haven’t posted them yet.  I think I may have put them away after I spent a day cleaning my pig sty craft room.  Oh wait.  I just remembered.  This is the card I sent Buffy for her birthday!  No wonder I forgot to post it.  I mailed it!

This card uses one of the hostess sets called Time Of Year.  It has stamps with it that match the Bunch of Banners Framelits.  The Designer Series Paper is called Floral Boutique.  The little flower is from a stamp set that has been around a long time called Petite Petals and has a matching punch also called Petite Petals.

For You With Candy Dots

Petite Petals, Flower Shop, Pictogram Punches

This card uses some retiring products and some products that are being carried over.  One of the stamp sets that is retiring that I will miss is called Pictogram Punches.  I used it for the little flower on this card.  There is a set of matching punches called Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack that is also retiring.  The biggest thing on this card I will miss are the Candy Dots.  They are perfect to add a little color to your card.

The good news is Flower Shop and Petite Petals, along with their matching punches are carrying forward into the new catalog.  I was surprised because they have been around for a while, but I believe they are still very popular.

Check out the Retirement List and order what you want before June 1st.  Once they are gone, they are gone forever!

Petite Petals Thank You

Petite Petals, One Big Meaning

Today is Election Day.  You need to go vote.  I know many people don’t think their vote counts but it really does.  Many years ago, I ran for the local school board.  The election ended up in a tie vote.  I had so many people stop me on the street  the next day and say “Oh I am sorry I didn’t vote.  I just thought you would win”.  It is not exactly what anyone who runs for a public office wants to hear so make sure you vote!  It is important.  My father used to say “if you don’t vote then you can’t complain”.  So go.  Vote.  Now!  Afterwards you can stamp!

I will leave you with a smile.  Madelyn was a chicken for Halloween.  Get it?  Chicken and Waffles! (Go Vote!!).

Thank You

One Big Meaning, Petite Petals

Stampin’ Up! sells some awesome stamp sets that can be used in everyday life.  August is my birthday month (as you already know) and I needed to make a bunch of thank you cards.  There is a stamp set in the Annual Catalog called One Big Meaning.  It has seven different stamps that all say thank you but each one says it in a different way.  Some are large and some are small(er).

The flowers are from a stamp set that has been around for a while called Petite Petals.  It has a matching punch, which is awesome because who wants to cut out all those flowers by hand??  The lines with the little swirls are from the stamp set called Tin of Cards.

The girls hanging out together.  I am not sure how Madelyn feels about Waffles.  She is probably thinking “is that big furry thing going to lick me again?”.

Gold Soiree DSP Is Retiring

Gold Soiree, Flower Shop, Petite Petals

One of the sad things about the retirement list that came out last week is that all of the Designer Series Paper from this year’s catalog is on it.  I especially loved the paper called Gold Soiree.  Some of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) is called Specialty Paper because it is usually thicker or has “more oomph” (as the catalog says) and Gold Soiree is one of them.  Usually I am a DSP paper hoarder but last year I vowed to start using it.  I managed to do a pretty good job at it.  I think it is so pretty that I hate to see it gone so I “save” it.  I forget I can always buy some more.  That is until it retires.  So if you like this year’s DSP buy it before it is gone for good!

Taking A Break From The Holidays

Flower Shop, Mixed Bunch

I know it is almost Fall but I am still having trouble letting summer go.  Although September usually has beautiful weather in this area, it always seems like the month belongs to Fall.  I decided to change it up a little bit from the holidays and the Holiday Catalog by offering one last look at summer.

I made this card using Mixed Bunch, Flower Shop and Petite Petals.  These sets go so well together when you want to layer flowers.  The Designer Series Paper is called Gold Soiree and can be found in the Annual Catalog.

Goodbye summer.  We’ll see you next year!

Another August Birthday Card

Amazing Birthday

I got the idea for this card from Shelli Gardner.  Shelli is the Co-Founder and CEO of Stampin’ Up!  She has a blog where she occasionally posts pictures of cards she has made or received.  Her blog address is www.soshelli.com in case you want to check it out.  Anyway, she made a card that sort of, but not really, looked like this.  I just took her design and made it my own.  It is called CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) and is perfectly allowable.  Whenever you CASE something, it is always nice to give the original card maker credit.

I used a few different stamp sets to make this card.  They are Amazing Birthday, Mixed Bunch, Flower Shop, Petite Petals, and Gorgeous Grunge.  I used a new Thinlit called Striped Scallop as well as all the punches that match the flower stamps.

Petite Petals Birthday Card

Petite Petals

I saw a card similar to this one on Pinterest and thought it was really cute so I decided to make it but changed it up a bit.  I used the stamp set called Petite Petals that has a matching punch also called Petite Petals.  I decided to use most of the colors in the Stampin’ Up! Brights Collection to make it bright and cheery.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Brights Color Collection Paper Stacks.  I love these Paper Stacks because they have 4 sheets of every color in the family.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Yippee Skippee.  I thought it was fitting because it looks like a happy card to me!

Fantastic You!

Fabulous Four

Sometimes I have a little trouble coming up with good color combinations.  This is where the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach is so useful.  I just look up a color on it and it gives me a couple of different options.  I would never have put Calypso Coral with Island Indigo but it doesn’t look too bad at all.

The stamp sets I used for this card are Fabulous Four and Petite Petals.  Petite Petals has a matching punch also called Petite Petals.  I used the new embossing folder called Large Polka Dot and finished off the flowers with some Candy Dots.  I do have to say, those are the best inventions.  You don’t need extra postage on your cards because they are not full brads.  Blog Signature-001

Flowering Flourishes & Petite Petals

Flowering Flourishes, Petite Petals

This card uses the new Stampin’ Up! 2014/2016 In Colors called Lost Lagoon, Hello, Honey, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist.  The only one it does not use is Blackberry Bliss.  I have to say, I loved last year’s In Colors but this year’s are really beautiful.  I think the difference is last year’s colors were fun and summery.  This year’s colors are richer and deeper.  Plus they all go so well together that you will have no trouble trying to find matching colors.

I used Flowering Flourishes for the background swirl and Petite Petals with the matching Petite Petal Punch for the flowers.  The sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes, which is a new Photopolymer Stamp Set that was so popular it is now unavailable until Stampin’ Up! gets more supplies in.  It will be back and I will let you know when.
