Sneak Peek Garage Gears

One of my favorites things about being a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator is I get to get my hands on new products early.  I am not a patient person and when I start seeing peeks of new products I want them NOW!.  I can do that being a Demonstrator!

I made this card using a new set of dies called Garage Gears Thinlits (item#148521).  When I saw that die with the gears, I knew I had to have it!   It is one large die, although the set does include individual gear dies too.  This set of dies does have a matching stamp set called Geared Up Garage (item#148590) but I did not use it on this card.  You can buy both of these products now if you are a Demonstrator.  Otherwise they will be available to everyone on January 2nd.  You can also save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle (item#150610).  I can’t list these items at the bottom of my page because they are not available yet.

I made the background of the card using the Chicken Wire Elements that are in the Holiday Catalog.  I taped a piece of Whisper White cardstock and one Chicken Wire Element to a board and then used a Stamping Sponge to dab Gray Granite ink over it.

I cut the gears out of Blackberry Bliss cardstock.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Picture Perfect Birthday.

If you are impatient as I am and are interested in becoming a Demonstrator you can click on the link to the right of this post that says “Join Now”.  If you have any questions about it, leave a comment or send me an email.

Falling Flowers

Stampin’ Up!®  comes out with four catalogs a year.  The Annual Catalog comes out in June.  The Holiday Catalog is September – December.  Then the Occasions Catalog is from January to May and the Sale-a-bration Catalog is January – March.  We always get excited to see new products each time a new catalog comes out and forget about those lonely Annual Catalog stamps.  I decide to look through my stamp set and give a little love to a couple I hadn’t used in a long time.

The stamp set I used on this card is called Falling Flowers. I love the big swirl stamp that comes in this set.  I stamped the background using Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Highland Heather.  I colored them using the matching Stampin’ Blends.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Picture Perfect Birthday.  I stamped that using Memento Ink.

Picture Perfect Birthday

I don’t know why but this birthday card just makes me happy.  I guess it is because it is simple but uses happy colors and sentiments.  I love the new color called Mango Melody.  Can colors be fun?  I think so and Mango Melody is one fun color!

To make this card I first adhered a piece of Best Route Designer Series Paper onto Basic Black cardstock.  Then I stamped the top right sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I wanted a simple image to go with it and I think the flower from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies in Mango Melody was perfect.  Lastly, I stamp the “Happy Birthday”  in the bottom left corner.  Super easy!

Stitched All Around

Stitched All Around is a new stamp set that is in the 2018/2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  It has a set of matching Framelits called Stitched Labels and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  The stamp set is has some cute sentiments but the dies is what drew me to this suite in the first place.

There are ten dies in this set.  They are mostly label dies which make them perfect for sentiments but there are a few other dies in the set that really add to it.  If you look at my card you can see the pattern that one of the dies makes.  It doesn’t cut out a shape.  It just pierces the cardstock to make this cute X pattern.  Plus it has two straight dies that add piercings to your cardstock.  One makes x’s and the other makes dots.  You are going to love this set of Framelits!

On a side note, here is a picture of Emory Jade.  She is growing up so fast and is already 16 months old!  She is the cutest and sassiest little southern girl.  Just look at those eyes!  She looks just like her Mama.

Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper

One of the things I love about stamping is you can be as simple or as complicated as you wish.  Sometimes you need a card quickly.  Usually that is when Rob comes home from work and asks for one for one of his employees or friends.  It reminds me of when the kids used to tell me right before they went to bed that they were assigned snack the next day.  In Rob’s defense I have never had to run out to the store late at night to buy anything and I don’t mind going to my stamp room to make him a card.

This card took me about 5 minutes to make.  Seriously, the hardest part was cutting the paper to size.  I took a piece of Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper and backed it with a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock.  Then I adhered it to a piece of Petal Pink cardstock.  The celebrate stamp is from the stamp set called Picture Perfect Birthday.  The stamp actually says “celebrate the good stuff” buy I masked off “the good stuff” part and just stamped the celebrate using Blackberry Bliss Ink.  To mask off part of a sentiment you just cover the part you don’t want with a Post-It Note or a piece of Washi Tape, ink the stamp and then take off the tape before stamping.  The hardest part is remembering to take off that tape.  Believe me.  I have forgotten many times!  Then I cut out the You with a die from the Celebrate You Thinlits set.

Designer Series Paper is great for adding some color and dimension to any card.  It saves you time from having to stamp something.  Stampin’ Up! offers a large variety of DSP with matching cardstock packs to make ordering even easier.

A Mini Pyramid Fun Fold Card

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly stamp club meeting last night.  It is a take on the very popular pyramid card that is all over the internet right now.  I am not sure who came up with this idea so I can’t give credit to that person.  This is a simplified version because the real pyramid card has a ton of layers that open up all sorts of ways with photos, etc., and stands at least one or two inches high.  Our card only has three simple layers.

The first layer opens like this:

Then the second layer opens like this:

Finally, the last layer opens to a gift card holder.

The supplies we used are the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set from 2018 Occasions Catalog. The Designer Series Paper is from the same suite and is called Picture Perfect Party.  We used the Tailored Tag Punch and the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder.

To make this card you need to cut the first layer of cardstock 5.5″ x 1.75″ (we used Peekaboo Peach) and then fold it in half.  The Designer Series Paper is 2.5″ x 1.5″.

The second layer (we used Berry Burst) is 8″ x 3″ folded in half.  The piece of Whisper White cardstock inside the second layer is 3.75″ x 2.75″.

The third layer (Pool Party) is 11″ x 4.25″ scored at 2.75″ and 8.25″.  The Designer Series Paper on the outside of the third layer are two pieces 2.5″ x 4″.  The Whisper White cardstock inside is 5.25″ x 4″ and embossed with the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder.  The piece of Peekaboo Peach cardstock that holds in the gift card is 5.25″ x 2″.

Picture Perfect Birthday

Today is Emory Jade’s first birthday!  I don’t know how the time flew so fast.  It doesn’t seem like that long ago that she was born.  I know.  Everyone says that but it is so true!

A few years ago Stampin’ Up! introduced Suites as a way to bundle products that go together.  This makes it so much easier for customers to look at and purchase products that match.  They then makes lots of cards, 3D items and other creations using this Suite so you can get some great ideas.

Picture Perfect Party is one of the Suites in the 2018 Occasions Catalog.  This Suite includes a stamp set called Picture Perfect Birthday, Designer Series Paper called Picture Perfect Party, the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder, cardstock, and other embellishments that coordinate with this Suite.  This particular suite even has some matching Stampin’ Spots with it!  If you buy most of the items in this Suite you will be eligible for a free item from the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  A note~ the ribbon in this bundle is not available.  Stampin’ Up! had some issues with it and pulled it off the market.

The Picture Perfect Designer Series Paper is very different.  One one side they have actual photographs of birthday things like candles, party blowers and balloons.  The other side has designs.  The picture sides are so much fun. I used the ballon one on my card.

To make this fun card I just cut out the balloon Designer Series Paper, embossed the sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday, added some Whisper White Baker’s Twine and put it all together.  It is a clean and simple card and was quick and easy to make.

Happy Birthday, Emy Jade!

Birthday Wishes For You

Today is my friend, Laura’s birthday.  Laura is a member of my stamp club.  She is an amazing stamper and makes the most beautiful cards.  She is a clean and simple stamper like I am only she just does it better.  I think I need to talk her into starting a blog so she can share her creations.

I made this birthday card for Laura using the stamp set in the 2018 Occasions Catalog called Birthday Wishes For You.  You already know I love big giant fonts so I knew I would buy this set as soon as I saw it.  You can leave it blank or you could color it in using Stampin’ Write Markers or Stampin’ Blends.  I stamped it once on Whisper White and then again on Lemon Lime Twist.  Then I cut out the banner part and put it on the card using a Mini Dimensional.

The party horn is from the stamp set called Picture Perfect Birthday.  This set is also in the Occasions Catalog.  It is a two-step stamp set where two or more stamps make an image.  I love two-step stamps because you don’t need to color each section.  You can just tap them in an ink pad and put them together.  The party horn I made actually uses four different stamps.

The Designer Series Paper is called Picture Perfect Party and is a 6″ x 6″ paper stack.

Happy Birthday, Laura!  I hope you have an awesome day!

Picture Perfect Birthday

Here is a quick and easy card to make when you don’t have a lot of time.  I used the stamp set from the 2018 Occasions Catalog called Picture Perfect Birthday.  This is such a fun set with a lot of stamps that you can use to make birthday cards.

First I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White Cardstock and then punched it out using a new punch called Starburst.  Then I punched out another circle using the new 2 1/4″ Circle Punch.  Both of these punches are in the 2017/2018 Annual Catalog.

The ribbon is from the 2018 Sale-a-bration Catalog and is called Shimmer Ribbon Pack.  It comes in three different colors (Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray) and you can get al three for free with a qualifying order.  It is beautiful ribbon because it has a slight shimmer to it.

The Designer Series Paper is called Delightful Daisy and is also in the Annual Catalog.

By the way, if you purchase all the items to make this card, you can get the ribbon at no cost!  Also during Sale-a-bration time you can get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order) or if you join my Stampin Up! family you get a $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS your choice of TWO FREE STAMP SETS (an added value of up to $101)!!

Amazing You

Amazing You is one of the stamp set in the 2018 Sale-a-bration Catalog that you can earn for free with a qualifying order.  Yes, I said free!  Everyone loves free!  The “YOU” is from a die set called Celebrate You and the Designer Series Paper is called Bubbles & Fizz.  Both of these items are also in the Sale-a-bration Catalog too!

I made this card using this stamp set in my Stamparatus.  In case you forgot what a Stamparatus is you can click HERE for a reminder.  If you watch the video in that link you can see how the plates of the Stamparatus move up and down so it was so easy to make this card.  I just stamped it once at the top and moved the plate down one notch and stamped it again.  Then I repeated that two more times.  Each time it stamped perfectly aligned and perfectly straight.  Have you ever tried to do that freehand?  I tried once and it ended up in the garbage.  In any case, it is too late to reserve your Stamparatus but it will be coming out in the 2018/2019 Annual Catalog in June.

The sprinkles this card are from the stamp set called Picture Perfect Birthday which is in the 2018 Occasions Catalog.
