Dragonfly Dreams

I am very sad to announce that Stampin’ Up! has decided to end their contract with Becky Higgins who owns Project Life.  Although I am not a scrapbooker, I loved using their products for cards.  The good news is Stampin’ Up! will be offering a new product line in their 2017 Annual Catalog that beings on June 1st.  Stay tuned for that!

I used a Project Life card to make this card.  It is from the set called Hello Lovely.  I have sold so many of these sets to card makers and scrapbookers alike.  It is a beautiful set that uses Crumb Cake, Peekaboo Peach, Soft Sky and other beautiful colors.

I used the set of Thinlits called Detailed Dragonfly Dies.  I cut the dragonflies out of Copper Foil Sheets.  These Foil Sheets are so awesome.  They have been by far, the most popular color.  The copper is so rich and beautiful.  Plus Dragonfly Dreams and the Detailed Dragonfly Dies are being carried over into the next catalog!

The stamp set I used is called Endless Thanks.  It comes with the little banner and a ton of sentiments.  First I stamped it in Versamark and then embossed it using Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Sadly, this set is being retired.  I use it so often so I will miss it.  If you like this set  order it soon before it is gone forever.

If you are a fan of Project Life, you should order it soon because once they kits are sold out, they will be gone for good.  You can check out the 2017 Retirement List by clicking on the button to the right of this post.

Project Life With A Sneak Peek

Project Life, All Things Thanks, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

Here is a quick and easy thank you card for the bride and groom to use after their wedding day.  It uses the Hello Lovely Project Life Card Collection.  I love these card collections even though I don’t scrapbook.  They are great to use when you need you don’t have a lot of time.

The sentiment is a sneak peek of a stamp set that will be in the 2017 Occasions Catalog.  It is called All Things Thanks.  It is a stamp set that has nine thank you stamps with different themes.  Obviously the one I use is for a wedding.  There is also one for thanking people for a baby gift, for joining us and one for “everything”.  It is a great set when you need to say thank you for something specific.

Another Project Life Card

Project Life, Thankful Thoughts

This is another card made with the Hello Lovely Project Life Card Collection.  I really like the cards that came with this collection.  Here is another card I made earlier using this set.  If you need a quick card these are perfect for that.  All I did was stamp the “thanks” and cut it out using the Layering Ovals Framelits and adhere it to a piece of Soft Sky that I also cut out using this set of Framelits.  Then I added a piece of thick Baker’s Twine and attached it all together.  It took five minutes at the most.  Stampin’ Up! has six different Project Life Card Collections in the Annual Catalog and a holiday one in the Holiday Catalog.

Project Life

Project Life, Thoughtful Branches

Need a quick, easy and beautiful card?  Project Life Card Collections are perfect for this.  Normally, Project Life is mean for the busy scrapbooker but you can use the card collections to make greeting cards too.

I used the Hello Lovely Project Life Card Collection to make this card.  All I needed to do was cut it down to size, stamp a sentiment in the middle and mount it on card stock.  It can’t get much easier than that!  The sentiment I used it from a limited time only set that will be available during the month of August only.  It is called Thoughtful Branches and has an awesome set of Thinlits to match.  This set is so versatile as it can be used for anything holiday or occasion you can think of.  You better hurry because once this set sells out, it won’t be available again.

Watercooler Challenge WCC20

Today is another day for the Watercooler Card Challenge.  This time Buffy made an awesome card sketch for all of us to follow.  Here it is:

BuffySketchChallenge

Here is my card:

Project Life

I decided to use Project Life to make my card.  Even though I am not a scrapbooker, I love using Project Life to make cards.  The Everyday Adventure Project Life Card Collections uses a lot of my favorite colors such as Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry (among others).  I made this card entirely from Project Life and there is no stamping on it at all.

If you would like to see the other cards made with this challenge click HERE.  There are some awesome cards on there!

Project Life & Bravo

Project Life, BravoI love the Project Life Accessory Kits that Stampin’ Up! offers because they have a lot of cards and accessories you can use for your scrapbooking projects as well as for making cards.  Each card is double sided so you have a lot to choose from.  I took one of the cards from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Card Collection, cut it down a little bit to fit on the cardstock and just stamped a couple of sentiments from the Bravo Photopolymer Stamp Set.  The little heart in the corner is also from the Project Life Card Collection.  The whole card took me about 3 minutes to make.  It can’t be much easier than that!

A Project Life Card

Project Life

This card was totally made from Project Life products.  There is actually no stamping involves at all and it took me about 5 minutes to make.  The hardest part was picking out which card to use.  Although I am not a person who scrapbooks, I still love the Project Life products because they can be used for cards too.  These cards are from the Everyday Adventure Card Collection.  Even the arrow is included in this set.  Whether you are a card maker, a scrapbooker or both, you will love the Project Life line with Stampin’ Up!

Oh My Goodies & Project Life

Oh My Goodies, PLxSU

Thirty one years ago I married Rob.  Wow it is hard to believe how time has flown.  I know people say that all the time but honestly it is true.  Together we have three wonderful boys (who are now men) and one daughter in law, all of whom we are very proud of.  It has been a great 31 years and I would do it all over again if given the chance.  I did make Rob a card but I decided not to post it today.  Sometimes I just have to keep things between the two of us.

Today’s card is made with a new stamp set called Oh My Goodies.  I know.  It is a very weird name and a very weird sentiment but I love it anyway.  There are four stamps in this set that go with the Deco Labels Framelits.  The stamp I used is one of my favorite from the set.

The background is one of the cards from the Project Life Everyday Adventure Collection.  I have used quite a number of these cards as backgrounds and I particularly love this set because of the bright colors.  Everyone know Bermuda Bay with either Daffodil Delight or in this case, Crushed Curry, is one of my favorite combinations.  All you need to do is look at my blog header to realize this!

Happy Anniversary, Onion.  I love you the most!

Little Letters Thinlits

Little Letters Thinlits

As soon as I saw a card using this technique with the Little Letters Thinlits Dies and I knew I had to order them.  I honestly can not remember the web site where I found this idea so if it was your web site, please let me know and I will give you credit for it.  If you look closely the letters are attached to the card base.  Here is a close up picture so you can hopefully see this better.

Little Letters Thinlits Dies

Can you see how the base of the letters are attached?  Here is a quick tutorial on how I did it.

First, you line up the letters you want to use on a straight line.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper to do this.

DSC02233

Then I placed a piece of painter’s tape to keep the letters in place.  I do recommend putting the painter’s tape to a piece of clothing first to take some of the stickiness out so it doesn’t stick to your cardstock.

DSC02234

Then you take a piece of 5.5 x 4.25 piece of cardstock (Always Artichoke) and just slip it underneath the letters so only a little bit is on top of the cardstock.

DSC02235

Add a second piece of painter’s tape to hold it in place lining up the tape exactly to the top of the piece of cardstock.  This holds the letters in place as well as giving you something to line up your Big Shot plates with.

DSC02236

Lay the letters with the Always Artichoke cardstock over a piece of 5.5 x 8.5 piece of cardstock (Bermuda Bay) so that the ends of both pieces of cardstock match perfectly and put it on your Big Shot Multipurpose Platform and one Big Shot Plate.

DSC02237

Lay the second Big Shot Plate (I know mine look awful but they work fine!) and line it up to the top of the painter’s tape without actually placing it on the painter’s tape at all.

DSC02238

Then you run it through your Big Shot and all the letters will be cut out except the little portion that was not under the plate.  When you turn it over you can see where most of the letters cut through except where you did not have a plate on top of.

DSC02239Now just make a score line and fold the card without folding over the letters.

DSC02240

Cut your cardstock to the desired length of card and decorate.  I used one of the cards from the Project Life Everyday Adventure Card Collection, the new punch called What’s Up and the stamp sets called And Many More.

Happy Birthday Zachary!

Project LifeToday is my youngest son, Zachary’s, birthday.  He is 27.  I am not sure where the time went because it did not seem that long ago that he was just a baby.  Let me tell you, he was the hardest baby of the three.  It really wasn’t his fault.  We didn’t realize until he was 9 months old that he was allergic to milk products.  Once we figured that out, he became his disposition improved greatly!

I made this card using the Project Life Everyday Adventure Card Collection and Accessory Pack.  These products make really nice cards in about 3 minutes!  The hardest part was lining up the sentiment (using the stamp set Four You).

Happy Birthday Zachary!  You are an amazing young man and I am so proud of you!
