Dainty Flowers DSP

Stampin Up Dainty Flowers

This has to be one of the easiest cards I have ever made but I think it is just gorgeous!  Believe me, it is not because of anything I created.  This beautiful card is made using the Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper called Dainty Flowers.  All I did was adhere a piece of the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper to some card stock, stamp the sentiment from the Dainty Delight stamp set and a few Brushed Brass Butterflies.  That is it!  The best part this paper is free with a $50 order.

Stampin’ Up! sale-a-brates once a year.  They used to have it a couple of times a year but we were recently told that they are only going to do it once from now on.  So, that means January and February are the only times you can get free Stampin’ Up! products. This particular DSP coordinates with the Dainty Delight bundle.  If you order this bundle you can get the paper for FREE.  What could be better than that!

If you would like to see what else you can get for Free, click on the cover of the Sale-a-bration catalog on the right side of this blog.  There are stamp sets and other Designer Series Papers to choose from.  Some are free with a $50 order and others are free with a $100 order.  There is no limit to the amount o free things you can get.  Just remember that once a product in the Sale-a-bration catalog sells out, it will be gone for good.

Perfect Pomegranate

Stampin Up Perfect Pomegranate

Perfect Pomegranate is one of the stamp sets you can earn for free with a qualifying order during Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-bration.  I need to clarify that this stamp set is free with a $300 order.  You can place a $300 yourself or you could get a bunch of friends to place an order together.  This stamp set is a DisINKtive stamp set.  This means that one stamp creates different opacities in a single stamp which brings depth to the image.  The flowers and stems on my card are examples of a DisINKtive stamp.  You can see where some parts of the images are darker than other parts.  This was done with just one stamp.

To make this card I first stamp the branch in Granny Apple Green Ink.  Then I stamped the two flowers and the little dots in Pale Papaya ink.  I decided it needed a few more leaves so I added a few more to the image.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Go To Greetings.  This stamp set has four different sized greetings which include Just A Note, Thank You, Happy Birthday and Thinking Of You.  There is also one small Hello included.  It is a great stamp set because it can be used for most occasions.

Sale-a-bration is still going on for a few more weeks! It is the best time of year in the Stampin’ Up!® world. You get FREE products with a qualifying order and there are many to choose from.  Most of the items in the catalog are still available (as of the time of this writing.  The Tree Lots Dies and the Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards & Envelopes are gone but there is a lot more to choose from.  Remember, Stampin’ Up!® added more items you can earn.  These are listed in the photo below.

It is also the best time to join my Stampin’ Up! family. For $99 you can pick $125 worth of products from the Annual or Spring Catalogs. Plus you get the Making Plans Collection for free!  Your kit will come with all the business supplies you will need to get started and the shipping is free!

Driving By

Stampin Up Driving By

I just love it when I can get new product for free.  I mean, who does not like free?  During the months of January and February you can get free products with a qualifying order because it is Sale-a-bration time in the Stampin’ Up!® world.  There are products you can get with a $50 or a $100 order and there is no limit to how many you can earn.  If you spend $100 you can choose 2 $50 products or 1 $100 product.  If you order $200 you can get 4 $50 products or 2 $50 and 1 $100 products.  You can the idea. There are many stamp sets and Designer Series Paper packs to choose from.

One of my favorite stamp set in the Sale-a-bration catalog is called Driving By. There are six stamps in the set – 3 cars and 3 sentiments.  My first car I ever purchased was a navy blue Volkswagen Bug.  It was an original bug.  It had no heat and no defrost but I loved that thing.  It was a perfect size for me and I zipped around town with it for a couple of years.  Then I moved to Northern New York.  NNY is cold and snowy and you need to have a heater and defroster.  At first I put a blanket in the car to cover my lap when I drove and I kept an ice scrapper right next to me so I could scrap the window as I drove.  It did not work very well and I was sad but I had to trade it in for another car.  In any case, this is one of the reasons I loved the stamp set called Driving By.

To make this card I first made the background.  I used a new stamp set in the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog called Paradise Palms.  This set has a coordinating set of dies called Palm Dies.  I colored the palm trees using a Soft Suede and Old Olive Stampin Write Markers and stamped them three times onto a piece of Basic White card stock.  Then I took a Blending Brush and lightly blended Balmy Blue ink for the sky and Smoky Slate for the road.  I adhered this to a Highland Heather card base.  I stamped the three vehicles in Memento Black Ink and colored them using Bermuda Bay, Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight Blends.  I fussy cut them out and adhered them using Multipurpose Glue and Dimensionals.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink.

Penguin Playmates

Stampin Up Penguin Playmates

It is hard to believe that tomorrow is the last day for the Stampin’ Up!® Sale-a-bration.  I can’t decide which is my favorite product from that catalog that I was able to get for free.  I love the Counting Sheep and Delicate Dahlias stamp sets.  I love the Sheep Dies that coordinate with the Counting Sheep stamp set.  I love the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper that coordinates with the stamp set called Penguin Place and it’s coordinating Penguin Builder Punch that are both in the 2021 July – December Mini Catalog.

To make this card I used the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper.  The background of this card is a piece of this DSP that I adhered to a Just Jade card base.  I cut a 2 5/8″ x 5.5″  piece of Misty Moonlight card stock and layered that on top.  Then I cut a piece of Basic White card stock using a die from the Ornate Layers set.

The Snowman, the Polar Bear and the Penguin that I used on my card are from the other side of that Designer Series Paper.  That is one of my favorite things about Stampin’ Up!® DSP.  There are always two sides with different patterns.  I fussy cut the characters out and glued them to my card.  I am not big on fussy cutting but these were all easy to do since the lines were not complicated.

I cut out three snowflakes using the Stitched Snowflakes dies in Basic White and Misty Moonlight card stock. The sentiment from from the stamp set called Artistically Inked.

Remember, tomorrow is the last day to get free products from the Sale-a-bration catalog with a qualifying order.  There are lots of things to choose from that I am sure you will love as much as I do.

Counting Sheep

Hello everyone!  Today is another Stamp Off Challenge.  This time our challenge is called “Down On The Farm”.  I looked through all my stamp sets and could not find one that had anything to do with a farm.  Then I realized that one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets is called Counting Sheep.  Perfect!  There are actually TWO Sale-a-bration items I used.  One is the stamp set and the other is the coordinating dies called Sheep Dies.  You can get both of these for free with a qualifying order.  Even better!

Stampin Up Counting Sheep

To make this card I first stamped the sheep in Smoky Slate using Memento Black Ink.  At this point I have to admit I had some help with an idea for this card.  Diana Gibbs did a video showing how she used a gel pen and drew curls all over her sheep.  I thought this was just adorable so I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) her using her great gel pen idea.  I also used her rosy cheek suggestion using a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’  Blends.  Then I cut it out using the coordinating die from the Sheep Dies.

After this, one thing led to another.   I decided that my sheep looked like she was performing so I decided she was singing.  Therefore, I used the Merry Melody Embossing Folder for my background with Basic White card stock.  This folder is in the 2021 July – December Mini Catalog.  Then I decided she should be singing on top of the cute little fence that comes with the Sheep Dies so I cut that out using Cinnamon Cider card stock.  The card still looked a little plain so I added the sun/moon behind her using a piece of Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper and backed it with a piece of Cinnamon Cider card stock using the Layering Circles Dies.  I cut the clouds out in Basic White also using the Sheep Dies.  Lastly I added the Flirty Flamingo flower to her with a Champagne Rhinestone.  I popped the sheep and clouds up using a Dimensional.

The sentiment is from the Free As A Bird stamp set.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie used for their farm.

Don’t forget you can get this cute Counting Sheep stamp set and Sheep Dies for free with a qualifying order during the month of September.  Hurry because when they sell out, they will be gone for good.

Berry Blessings

Stampin Up Berry Delightful

As you can probably tell, I really love the Berry Blessings Bundle that is in the 2021 Stampin’ Up!® Sale-a-bration Catalog.  Why do I love it?  It is beautiful but the best part is, it was FREE!  Unfortunately, this will be my last post using it because Sale-a-bration ends on Sunday.  That means this bundle will not be available anymore.  You won’t be able to get it for free or get it at all so if you love it, you need to place a qualifying order by Sunday.

This card is a Fun Fold card called a Slide and Lock.  I made one of these last July.  You can see it HERE.  The directions and measurements for a portrait card are included in that post so if you would like to see them, just click on that link.  It is called a Slide and Lock because the center section slides up to be removed and open the card.

Stampin Up Berry Blessings

Stampin Up Berry Blessings

Isn’t that fun?!

To make this card I first scored a 4.14″ x 11″ piece of Poppy Parade cardstock at 2.75″ at 8.25″.  Then I cut 1/16″ off one end.  This makes it a bit easier to slide the middle section.  Then I layered two 2.5″ x 4″ pieces of Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper on both ends.  Remember, this paper is part of the Sale-a-bration Berry Blessing Bundle that you can get for free with a qualifying order until Sunday.  Again, the rest of the directions and measurements on how to make the sliding part are in the link above.  The only different is I used the Here’s  Card stamp set for the sentiment.  I cut it  and the piece of Poppy Parade cardstock that is behind it out using the Ornate Frames die set

You still have a couple more days to join my Stampin’ Up! family and become a Demonstrator. For $99 you can pick $125 worth of products from the Annual or Spring Catalogs. Plus you get

Pierced Blooms

Stampin Up Pierced Blooms

This is the last week of the Stampin’ Up!® Sale-a-bration.  There are so many fun products in the SAB catalog that you can get for free with a qualifying order until February 28th.  Then these products will no longer be available (free or otherwise).

One of the best products in the 2021 SAB Catalog is the Designer Series Paper Called Oh So Ombre.  This pack has 48 sheets of double sided paper.  One side has a design and the other side is just plain except the color is darker on the top and gradually turns lighter towards the bottom.  I used it for this card so you can see how it looks.  I love this paper.  It really adds a lot of interest to a card.

Another new favorite product I have are the dies called Pierced Blooms.  This die set is in the 2021 January – June Mini Catalog has 25 dies in all.  There are flowers in all different shapes and sizes, as well as different leaves, a stem and a bow.  Everything has stitching in it except the stem and the bow.  These dies are part of a bundle that includes a stamp set called In Bloom and you can save 10% by purchasing them together.

To make this card I first layered a piece of the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper on a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I layered them on top of a Basic White card base.  I cut out the flowers using Daffodil Delight cardstock and the leaves in Granny Apple Green.  Lastly I cut the flower centers out of Bermuda Bay cardstock.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Lots Of Heart.  This set is also in the 2021 January – June Mini Catalog

Don’t forget there is only one week left of Sale-a-bration! It is the best time of year in the Stampin’ Up!® world. You get FREE products with a qualifying order and there are many to choose from. It is also the best time to join my Stampin’ Up! family. A Touch Of Ink

Stampin Up A Touch Of Ink

One of the things I love at my cottage on Lake Ontario and my backyard in Tennessee is my Hummingbird feeder.  I love watching the Hummingbirds come to it all day.  They are such a funny bird.  They are tiny and their wings beat so fast they are just a blur.  I love that they fight with each other, gibber jabber and chase each other around.  They are just so much fun to watch.

I have had numerous Hummingbird feeders in my lifetime and I finally found one that is great!  It is easy to clean, easy to fill and you don’t have to go out periodically to shake the food down.  If you are interested click HERE for the link.  By the way, if you love to feed the Hummingbirds, don’t buy the red stuff in the store.  They don’t need red food.  They are drawn to the red feeder. The red food is not good for them and it is really easy to make your own.  It is just 1 cup of water and 1/4 cup of sugar.  I double the recipe every time in order to fill the feeder.   You mix it together and boil it on the stove for a few minutes.  Just make sure you let it cool before putting it out.  My next door neighbor had a feeder that was filled with the red stuff.  The Hummingbirds never went to her feeder and came to mine so it must also taste better.  Shhhh.  Don’t tell her.  I don’t want my Hummingbirds to go to her feeder!

A Touch of Ink is a new stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021 Sale-a-bration Catalog.  This month you can get this stamp set for FREE with a qualifying order.  I love it because of the Hummingbird.  You already know how I feel about butterflies so I try to ignore that image but the bird, leaves and flowers are adorable.  Plus it has nice sentiments with it.

To make this card I used a piece of the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper that is also in the Sale-a-bration Catalog and you can get for FREE with a qualifying order.  I stamped the flowers and leaves first so I would know where to place the Hummingbird.  I stamped that in Memento Black Ink and colored it using my Blends.  Then I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Dies that are in the Annual Catalog.
