Our Christmas Card Stamp Off

Stamp Off Logo Clean

TGIF!  It is our Stamp Off Challenge Day.  This time we decided to share our personal Christmas Cards.  I know it is not really a challenge but it is still fun to see what each of us made.

december-23

I actually made two Christmas Cards this year.  I usually make a bunch of the same but decided after making 20 of one card, I wanted to do something different.  There were so many wonderful Christmas stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog that I had a hard time choosing.  The first card I made used the stamp set called Star Of Light.  This set has matching Thinlits called Starlight.  I think this set is so elegant.

The second card I made was more cute than elegant.  I used the stamp set called Santa’s Sleigh and the matching Thinlits (also called Santa’s Sleigh).  The sentiment is from Merriest Wishes and the Designer Series Paper is called This Christmas.

I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made for their Christmas cards.

Santa’s Sleigh

I know some of you procrastinators have not even started your Christmas cards.  Well, here is a quick and easy card you can make in no time at all.  All you need to do is cut out the sleigh from the Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits Dies and stamp the sentiment from Santa’s Sleigh stamp set.  It can’t get much easier than that.  There is no excuses left on why you haven’t made your cards!

Don’t forget the Clearance Sale is still going on until January 3rd.  You can save up to 60% on some items.  Also included in the list of sale items are retiring merchandise from the 2016 Holiday Catalog.  If there is something you like, don’t miss out before it is gone for good.

We all know that red and green are Christmas colors but you don’t always have to stick with them.  Sometimes you can use other colors just to be different.  I made this Christmas card using Sweet Sugarplum and Smoky Slate.  I think it looks a little elegant with these colors.  Plus, to top it all off, I used a lot of sparkle on this card.  It is hard to see in the picture but not only does the ribbon sparkle, but the scallops on the bottom are silver, the sleigh overlay is silver and the sequins added a bit more glitter to the card.

I used the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set along with the matching Thinlits (you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle).  The ribbon is the 3/8″ Glitter Ribbon Combo Pack in Sweet Sugarplum.  You also get a roll in silver with this pack.  The sequins are Fancy Frost Sequins.  All of the products above are in the 2016 Holiday Catalog.  Remember, this catalog ends on January 3rd.  Last but not least, is the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate on the bottom of the card.  This acetate is silver on one side and gold on the other.  I love it!

Santa’s Sleigh

Santa's Sleigh

I must admit I am having a hard time making Christmas cards when it is still 70 degrees out.  I guess if I lived in the South, this would be normal but since I live in the North, it just seems odd.

This is one of the cards we made at our monthly club meeting.  It uses a stamp set from the 2016 Holiday Catalog called Santa’s Sleigh.  It has a set of matching Thinlits also called Santa’s Sleigh and you can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.  It is a cute set yet it is elegant with the sleigh pieces.  The sleigh is actually made from two different dies.  Other than the pieces we used for this card, this set also has a reindeer, a small wreath, teddy bear, bows and a few other shapes.  I know you can’t really tell from this picture but we also used the Wink Of Stella on the red part of the sleigh and the star to give it a little shine.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, a stamp set that is a must have because it has every sentiment you can ever need!  The snow in the background is made from an Embossing Folder called Softly Falling.

A Quick & Easy Christmas Card

Santa's Sleigh, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

Ok, Ladies.  It is almost October so it is time to think about what you are going to do for your Christmas cards.  I know the holiday season gets very busy and sometimes you just can’t find the time to make cards on top of everything else you have to do.  This is why I am reminding you to get started early.  I expect a Christmas card from all my friends and customers! I am just kidding.  Sort of.  Kind of.  Not really.  Get moving!

I made this quick and easy Christmas card to show you that you don’t have to get all fancy and complicated with your cards.  I used a new stamp set from the Holiday Catalog called Santa’s Sleigh.  It has a set of matching Thinlits also called Santa’s Sleigh and you can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.

I embossed the background with an embossing folder called Softly Falling.  I traced the curve out with a bowl and then cut it by hand.  I find that cutting quickly make it smoother for some reason.  The first time I tried it came out all jagged because I went slowly.
