You & Me Banner Blast

DSC01889

This is the last card we made at our February Stamp Club Meeting.  There are so many new products in this card as well as some you can get for FREE!  The tag was made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  This is a great punch because you can make the tag as big or small as you wish.  The punch only cuts out the top.  The You & Me stamp is from Perfect Pennants, which is in the Stampin Up! Occasion Catalog.  The little banners are from Banner Blast which you can get for FREE with a $50 order.  The banners are punched out with the Banner Punch which is another item you can get for FREE with a $50 order.  If you order $100 you can get both!

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time!  Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase!  Get an extra $30 in Hostess Benefits with a $300 workshop (or order)!  Join my Stampin Up! family and get an extra $25 with your starter kit!

Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

FebruarySaleabrationBlogHop
Welcome to my first ever blog hop!  For those of you who do not know what a blog hop is, it is where a group of Stampin Up! demonstrators make projects based on a theme and the viewer goes from blog to blog to see everyone’s projects.  You probably just came from Jean’s amazing blog.  Her projects are always gorgeous!

Why the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop?  If you are a Stampin Up! demonstrator you have access to a forum called Stampin Connection where only demonstrators can enter.  On that forum is a thread called the Wacky Women’s Watercooler.  It is basically a thread where we talk about anything and everything (except business!).  The demonstrators who go there the most decided to do a blog hop a few months ago.  I could never participate because I was usually out of town on the dates they picked but this time I am home and here (although a little nervous!).

This hop’s theme is about the products in the Sale-a-bration and Occasions Catalogs.  The first card I made is a wedding card.  You could probably use it for just about any holiday or event (well maybe not a masculine birthday card).  Just change the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and it becomes whatever you want.  The card uses the Spiral Flower Originals Die that is in the Occasions Catalog.  It is so easy to make a flower using this die.  It is a Bigz die so you can cut up to 4 pieces of cardstock at a time.  I didn’t have a black brad so I decided to dip a brad from Antique Brads in Versamark and then Black Embossing Powder and heated it up with my Heat Tool.  The Designer Series Paper is called Modern Medley and is in the Annual Catalog.

The next project(s) I made used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch which is in the Occasion Catalog.  I actually saw this technique on Pinterest and fell in love with it.  I had to figure out how to make it but it wasn’t hard to do.  If you look closely, the “tag toppers” are all one piece with the card.  Of course, I decorated it differently then the card I saw, making it my own.  I actually made two of them, one has the tabs on the side and one has them in the middle.  Both cards use the Designer Series Paper in the Sale-a-bration Catalog called Sweet Sorbet. You can’t buy this paper but you can get it for free with a qualifying purchase.  I love the colors of this paper.  I used the stamp sets called Perfect Pennants and Chalk Talk for these cards.

The last card I made uses the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Banner Blast and the matching Banner Punch.  You can not purchase these items right now but you can get them for free with a qualifying purchase.  The card also uses the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder that is also in the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  By the way, the Banner Punch and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder will be available for purchase in the 2014/2015 Annual Catalog that comes out in June but you can only earn the Banner Blast Stamp Set through a qualifying purchase.  The Birthday Wishes stamp is from Four You.

Well I hope you enjoyed my projects for the Blog Hop!  Now hop on over to Heidi’s blog to see her amazing projects!  If you get lost along the way you can click on one of these blog buttons.  The “Next” Button will take you to the next blog (Heidi’s).  The “Previous” button will take you back to Jean’s Blog and the Home Button will take you to the home web page where all the blogs and their addresses are listed.

Little Valentines For My Ladies

DSC01908

I made these cute little Valentines for my Club Members.  I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  I just love this punch because you can use it for so many different things.  To make these I took a 2″ x 5″ piece of Raspberry Ripple cardstock and punched out both ends with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Then I scored them at 1 7/8″ and 3 1/8″ marks.  I used Hershey Nuggets for the candy.  I attached the Nuggets with a couple of Mini Glue Dots to keep them in place and just closed the top using 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon in Primrose Petals.  I cut the hearts out with my Big Shot and the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits in Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit.

Tomorrow I am participating in my very first Blog Hop!  The Hop starts at 9 PM so there won’t be a regular post in the morning.  I hope all of you come back and participate in the Hop.  It should be a lot of fun.

Chalk Talk & Scallop Tag Topper

DSC01861

In the 2014 Stampin Up! Occasions Catalog, there is a punch called Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  I have used it in a number of cards this month.  It makes great tags to use for gifts or to put on a card.  It also pairs well with the Chalk Talk Framelits.  If you punch out both sides of the paper you can layer them together.  As you can see, I did this with Brushed Gold Cardstock.  I really like the Brushed Gold Cardstock because it is a nice soft gold.  It is more antique looking than a bright gold.  The background was embossed using an embossing folder called Scallops Textured Impressions.  This is also in the Occasions Catalog.

Paper Craft Crew #71 Challenge & More Sneak Peeks

This week has been a tough crafting week in my house.  Forget the season.  Everyone is busy with this holiday season buying gifts, wrapping, parties, making Christmas cards, cleaning the house (oh wait, that one still needs to be done), etc.  The worst part is I have had the flu for the last 5 days.  I am slowly feeling better but one of the things I seem to have lost is my creating mojo.  I have tried to make some cards but usually ended up staring at my things and giving up.  I threw a lot of things out too!

I decided I needed some help so I went online looking for challenges (what the heck did we ever do before the internet?).  The best part about challenges is they give you a layout and you just use your own product to make a card.  It makes life so much easier.  I liked this weeks Paper Craft Crew Challenge and decided to use it.

Here is the card I made:

DSC01787

It uses a ton of new products that are coming out in the 2014 Occasions Catalog.  You are really going to love this catalog!  I want almost everything in it!  There are two stamp sets in this card.  One is called Perfect Pennants and the other is Petite Petals.  Petite Petals has a matching punch and you can buy both and save 15%.  The tag was made using another new punch called Scalloped Tag Topper and I even used new Designer Series Paper called Kaleidoscope!

The moral of this story is, if you need a little boost in your card creating, try doing a challenge.  It helps a lot!

Ok, now I am off to buy a Mega Millions ticket so I can actually purchase it all!
