Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC45

It is that time of the week again for our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge was brought to us by me!  It is a sketch challenge and here it is:

Dec 2

Here is my card:

Sea Street, WWC45

There are two reasons why I chose to use Sea Street in this challenge.  One is because I needed a break from making Christmas Cards but the main reason is because I have a ton of family and friends who have December birthdays.  Their biggest complaint is people give them birthday gifts wrapped in Christmas paper and Christmas themed cards.  On one hand, they should be grateful to get birthday gifts (Ha!) but on the other hand, I would probably agree with them if I had a December birthday.

Now check out the other Watercooler Artist’s creations HERE.  They made some awesome things!

Sea Street

Sea Street

I was so happy to see Sea Street in the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  Rob and his family are very nautical people (if there is such a thing).  Actually, they are all sailors so having a nautical stamp set is perfect for me to use to make cards for them.  Then you have the cute little Octopus to top it all off!  Of course, we rarely see an Octopus in Lake Ontario but you never know!  They might be hiding on the bottom.  This is the reason I always make Rob jump into the water before me.  He scares away all the fish and octopuses for me!  He is such a nice man!

Sea Street Thank You

Sea Street, Hey You

Sometimes I get so caught up in the new catalogs and how much I love all the products, that I forget about the stamp sets in the Stampin Up! Annual Catalog.  I was looking through my sets and found the set I used on this card.  It is called Sea Street and is a perfect set to use for a masculine card or anyone who loves anything nautical.  It has a lobster, crab, star fish, an anchor and a school of fish.  I think it is really cute and I love the nautical flags that are included too.  It is usually the set I use when Rob needs a card for some reason.  He is a sailor so it is fitting.

A Sea Street Birthday

Sea Street

I made this card using the sStampin’ Up! stamp set called Sea Street.  It is such a cute stamp set.  It has an octopus, lobster, crab and these great nautical flags.  It is also a great set to use for a masculine card.  I cut out the stamped images using the 1″ Square Punch and then cut out a piece of Real Red using the Postage Stamp Punch.  The sentiment is from And Many More (a set everyone needs!).  The raindrop Designer Series Paper is from Back to Black.  As you can probably tell from the name, every sheet is black and white.  During the month of July you can buy 3 Designer Series Paper Packs and get one free!

Sea Street & Circle Monogram

Sea Street, Circle MonogramAs I have told you before, I give my club members a card challenge every month.  Most of them participate.  I think they like it and it is a great way to have them use the merchandise they have purchased.  The only real requirement is that they try to use Stampin’ Up! merchandise only.  I usually don’t participate in the challenge because I want them to use their imaginations but I have the past couple of months.  Here is the June challenge:

Club Challenge June 2014-001I use My Digital Studio to design the challenges.  It is really quick and easy to do so.

For my card I used a new set out of the Stampin’ Up! 2014/2015 Annual Catalog that comes out on June 2nd.  It is called Sea Street.  The sentiment is one I designed by using the Circle Monogram stamp.  You just put in the item number and a window pops up where you can have the stamp say anything you want.  I love this because you can make a one and only stamp that is just for you!

Sea Street Thank You Card

Sea Street, Four YouRob needed some thank you cards for work so I was trying to figure out how to make him some without looking too feminine.  I was actually surprised he asked me to make him some and not go out and buy something.  It was kind of nice!  In any case, this is the card I came up with.  Rob loves to sail so I thought I would make him something nautical.  Sea Street is a perfect stamp set to use.  I knew he wouldn’t really want an Octopus (or the crab, lobster or starfish) on the card because Lake Ontario doesn’t have any of those (thank goodness!) but I knew he would love the flags.  The rope stamp in this set also worked well.   The sentiment comes from the set Four You.Blog Signature-001

A Sea Street Sneak Peek

Sea Street, Four YouHere is another sneak peek from the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog that will be available on June 2nd.  The stamp set is called Sea Street and it very cute.  The set has the flags and lobster stamps in it as well as a crab, octopus, starfish, anchor and school of fish.  My husband’s family is very nautical so I thought it would be a great set for me to own.  What better colors to use for a nautical card than red, white and blue!  The sentiment comes from the stamp set called Four You.  This set is also going to be carried over into the new catalog.
