A Serene Christmas Card

Serene Silhouettes

Are you getting tired of Christmas Cards yet?  I have decided that I am not going to post any more of them after December 10th.  By then you should be pretty much sick of them, although I have tried not to post only Christmas cards these past couple of weeks.

This card was made using the stamp set called Serene Silhouettes.  All I did was use a Mellow Moss Marker to color the branches and a Real Red Marker to color the birds.  I embossed the outside of the card using the Filagree Frame Embossing Folder that is in the Holiday Catalog. I decided it needed something else so I added the three Candy Dots in Real Red.

Serene Silhouette Club Challenge

Every month I give my Club Members a card challenge to do.  Usually it is a layout but sometimes I do a color challenge too.  They seem to like it and it makes them use the products they buy.  This is the challenge I gave them for May.

Club Card May 2014-001

This month I decided to participate in the challenge myself.  Usually I don’t but I am not sure why.  Here is the card I made.

Serene Silhouettes, Express Yourself

The first thing you will notice is my Designer Series Paper strips are the opposite of the challenge.  I could say I did this on purpose but I have this little habit of making cards and then realizing I put the stamps or paper on the wrong side so it opens incorrectly.  Yes, I did it with this card too.  Luckily I realized it before I glued on the cardstock that has the flowers on it and the sentiment.  Of course, one of the best things about challenges is you don’t really have to follow it exactly so I could have just omitted telling you that and you would have never known!

Serene Silhouettes Swap Card

DSC02002

I made this card for a swap I am participating in.  A swap is where everyone who participates makes a card for everyone who is participating.  Then I will get a card from each of them.  If 10 people are participating, I will make 10 cards and receive 10 different cards.  It is a fun way to get new ideas and to also meet new people online.

My card uses  the stamp set called Serene Silhouettes.  It also uses a stamp that I designed myself called Circle Monogram.  It is a Photopolymer Stamp from Stampin’ Up!  It is very easy and fun to make.  When you order this set, a window pops up and you just put in what you want the stamp to say.  It is a one of a kind stamp!  Fun!

One of the things I really like about the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper that is in the Holiday Catalog, is that it can be used for Christmas but it can also be used afterwards. I made a card similar to this one years ago and actually found it the other day.  The stamp set I used for it was retired (and so was the paper) but I thought the layout was still nice.  The flowers are from Serene Silhouettes and the greeting is a new one that will be in the Occasions Catalog that comes out January 3rd.  It is called Perfect Pennants and has a ton of great greetings.

By the way, the Holiday Catalog ends in less than a week so don’t forget to place your order before it all goes away.

The Twelve Days Of Christmas – Day 6

DSC01396

Welcome the the sixth day of The Twelve Days Of Christmas Series.  I hope you are enjoying seeing all the different Christmas Cards you can make quickly and easily.

This card uses the stamp set called Serene Silhouettes.  The greeting is from the set called Petite Pairs.  All you need to do to make this card is use your Real Red Marker to color the birds.  Then use your Early Expresso Marker to color the branches.  Huff on your stamp and stamp it on Whisper White card stock.  Then stamp your greeting in Real Red and put your card together.  It can’t get much simpler than that!  Easy!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch

I made this card for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch this week (that is a mouthful!).  The colors of this card are Smoky Slate and Calypso Coral.  I love these colors together.  I think I must say that every time I make a card.  I guess that is on great thing about Stampin Up!  All of the colors go well together!  The tree is from the stamp set called Serene Silhouettes and the little “Thanks” is from Lovely Little Labels.  This set has matching punches called (what else?) Little Labels Punch Pack and you get three in a pack.

Included in this card are a couple of new Framelits.  One is called Circles Collection and the other is Deco Labels.  Again, even those these are two separate sets of Framelits, they do go well together.  Peeking out underneath the Framelits is another Big Shop die called Sizzlets Large Delicate Doilies.

I am usually a bright and sunny color person but I decided to make a card using more neutral colors.  I saw a card similar to this one on Piinterest and decided to try it but at the same time changing it.  First I stamped the flowers from Serene Silhouettes in Early Expresso onto Very Vanilla Card Stock.  Then I covered both sides of the card stock with a straight edge and sponged (yes, sponged! I know. Aren’t you surprised?) the open area in Crumb Cake and then stamped the sentiment from Sweet Essentials.  The ribbon I added is called Crochet Trim and is really lovely.  It is much better in person than in the catalog.   I am really getting outside my box, aren’t I?
