Seriously The Best

Seriously The Best is another stamp set that will be retiring on June 2nd.  This is definitely a stamp set that I will be keeping forever.  You may not see it on my blog but I will use it a lot.  It is in the 2020 January – June Mini Catalog and goes with one of the kits also called Seriously The Best.  It has three very large sentiments, three small sentiments and a couple of other images included in it.  I love, love love the large sentiments.

I decided to pair this stamp set with another stamp set that is in the Mini Catalog called Forever Blossoms.  This stamp set has matching dies called Cherry Blossom dies and until June 2nd you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  After that, both products will still be available in the 2020/2021 Annual Catalog but you won’t be able to get the bundle discount.

To make this card I first adhered a piece of the Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper onto a piece of Petal Pink cardstock and then adhered that to a Whisper White card base.  This DSP will be retiring on June 2nd.  Then I stamped the flowers and leaves in Memento Black Ink and colored them with Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow Stampin Blends.  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink and cut that out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I love those dies and I am happy to say they will be carrying over into the next catalog.  I added a piece of the Gold Shimmer Ribbon and a few of the Champagne Rhinestones to add a little sparkle.

Moving Update:  They movers arrived Thursday late to look over the house and then spent all day Friday and half of Saturday loading the truck.  I don’t know how they do it!  One of them picks up my dining room table and walks out of the house with it and into the truck by himself!  Kind of crazy! They should arrive in Nashville on Tuesday when we get to unpack everything we packed.  I have to say, this is the last time I am going to move!

In the meantime, I needed some lunch.  I found a Lean Cuisine in the back freezer and stuck it in the microwave.  When I took it out, I realized I had no silverware.  It was all packed up!  I had to improvise.

Yep.  I found a paper plate, tore it in pieces and used that as a spoon!  It was either that or one of those razor blade box openers.  I figured the plate was safer.  I am getting smarter in my old age!

Seriously The Best & Poppies

Here is another card made with the stamp set called Seriously The Best.  This stamp set has a kit that goes with it (also called Seriously The Best) and both of these products are in the 2020 January – June Mini Catalog.  I didn’t use the kit for this card but it is amazing and it makes 16 cards (4 of 4 designs) with envelopes which can all be stored in a cute box.  The reason I love the stamp set is because it has three really large sentiments and you know I love sentiments.

This card was quick and easy to make.  I first took a Whisper White card base and layered a piece of Basic Black cardstock on top of it.  Then I cut a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock and a piece of Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper and adhered that on top of the Basic Black cardstock. Then I  stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhered that slightly diagonally.  I took a die cut flower from the Peaceful Poppies Elements and added a few of the Peaceful Poppies Sequins.  All of these products are in the Mini Catalog.  I decided it needed a bit more so I stamped the “So Much” from the stamp set called Abstract Impressions and layered that on the bottom.

Seriously The Best

Seriously The Best is a stamp set that is part of a kit with the same name.  The stamp set is sold separately from the kit but you you will probably want to buy them both.  The kit uses beautiful colors (Balmy Blue, Mint Macoron, Mango Melody, Pretty Peacock and Terracotta Tile), makes 16 cards and includes a designer box.

I only used the stamp set to make this card.  The minute I saw this set, I knew I had to have it because of the large font with the sentiments.  The colors I used are Gray Granite, Highland Heather, Coastal Cabana and Terracotta Tile.  I used Stitched Stars to cut all the stars out and I hand cut out the banner. I find the easiest way to do this is to stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut the banner edges.  Then layer it on top of a piece of Highland Heather cardstock that is 1/4″ wider.  Then cut the edges of that to match the white piece.

As you know we kind of got caught in the middle of selling our house and buying a new one when the pandemic hit.  We were able to buy the new house in Nashville but we put our present house on the market a week or so before all this craziness.  The real estate market was shut down in NY because it was not considered ‘essential”.  Now we are the proud owners of three houses (yikes)!  Thankfully, NY opened up the real estate business last week so maybe people will be looking again.  Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Stay safe out there and craft as much as you can.  It is good for your health and your soul!
