Fresh Fruit

Fresh Fruit is one of those stamp sets that has been super popular with my customers.  It is such a fun set and has some great sentiments with it.  I think a lot of people purchased it because of the “Love You More” stamp.  It is perfect for parents or grandparents to send to their little ones.  Sadly, it will not be carried over into the new Annual Catalog.

I used the “Rock & Roll” technique to stamp the fruit and leaves.  This is where you ink up a stamp in one color and then lightly roll it around in a darker color so only the edges get inked with that color.  I stamped the pear in Pear Pizzazz (of course) and then Old Olive for the edges.  I stamped the peach in Peekaboo Peach (again, of course!) and then I rolled the edges on the Watermelon Wonder Ink Pad.  The flower was first inked in So Saffron and then Delightful Dijon.  Lastly, the leaves were stamped in Pear Pizzazz first and then Garden Green.

The swoosh in the background came from a stamp in Perpetual Calendar and the sentiment is from So In Love.

So In Love

Valentine’s Day is only a week away.  If you haven’t started yours yet, here is a simple and easy card to make.  I know I have said this before, but again, the best thing about Stampin’ Up! is all the products coordinate.  They have stamp sets with matching Thinlits or Framelits.  They have Designer Series Paper and cardstock that all coordinate.  They have embossing folders you can mix and match with.

In this case I used a bundle called So In Love.  It includes a stamp set by the same name and Thinlits called So Detailed.  Both the stamp set and the Thinlits are very lacy and elegant.  To make this card, I only had to cut our the lacy wrap and stamp on it in the middle.  Then I just ran a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock through my Big Shot using the Happy Heart Embossing Folder.  Then it was just a matter of putting it together.

Have you started your Valentine’s yet?  Better get a move on!

So In Love

So In Love, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

I have a friend who is an amazing stamper.  She used to be in our Monthly Club but decided to go out on her own.  I went to see her today to drop off a couple of the new catalogs.  She took me into her basement where she has her craft room.  I can tell you one thing.  She has been busy.  She has been making cards and 3D projects like crazy!  Her table and drawers were filled with projects she had made.  I don’t think she would have to make another card the rest of the year and still be able to send one out every day!

Anyway, one of the things she mentioned is she thought the Occasions Catalog has a lot of frufru items in it this time.  She is more of a Hey Chick kind of stamper.  I decided to take one of those froufrou stamp sets and make a card that was not so feminine.  I guess it depends on the colors you use and the design of the card.

I have another card member who loves the soft froufrou stamps and papers.  I guess that is one of the nice things about Stampin’ Up!  There is something for everyone in their catalogs.

This card was made using the froufrou stamp set called So In Love.  I used the biggest flower stamp to make the background and then just added the sentiment with some banners.  To add a pop of color I used three Enamel Dots.

So what do you think?  Is this card froufrou or not?

A Stamp Off Color Challenge

Stamp Off Logo Clean

Today Jackie, Buffy and I are doing a Color Challenge.  I am pretty sure Buffy gave us this challenge since it uses some of her favorite colors.  I do have to admit, they are not my favorites but Blushing Bride has grown on my so I am using it much more than I used to.

So Detailed Thinlits, So In Love, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

I used some new products from the 2017 Occasions Catalog to make this card.  The stamp set is called So In Love.  The background was made using the So Detailed Thinlits.  This stamp set and Thinlits are available in a Bundle so you can save 10% by purchasing both.  I cut the background out three times and then pieced them together to look like they are all one.

Now let’s go check out what Jackie and Buffy made with these colors.  I am sure you will love whatever they did!
