Art Gallery

Stampin Up Art Gallery

Well, we have been in Nashville for a little over a week and it has been fabulous.  The weather is warm, sunny and in the 80’s.  We have a dishwasher again, water we can drink out of the tap and we have two bathrooms!  Those are luxuries that we just don’t have at the cottage.  Of course, we still love it there and you can not beat the view but sometimes a few niceties are a good thing!

I made this card using the stamp set called Art Gallery.  This stamp set has coordinating dies called Floral Gallery that cut out the images and the sentiments.  I first stamped a bunch of the flowers in Orchid Oasis and Daffodil Delight ink and cut them out using the die set.  The die cuts all the flowers out as if they are one piece, so I cut them apart.  Next, I stamped a few of the stems in Parakeet Party ink onto a Basic White card base. and randomly glued the flowers over the stems.  Then, I used the Fabulous Frames die set to cut out the frame and adhere it over the flowers.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Orchid Oasis ink onto a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and cut it out using the Floral Gallery die set.  I love the colors of this card.  They look very bright and happy together.

Bottled Happiness

Stampin Up Bottled Happiness

As most of you know we have a lake cottage that we spend the summers at.  It is definitely our happy place.  Not only do we have a beautiful view with gorgeous sunsets, but we also have the best neighbors ever!  We have our own Facebook page and last year we formed our own yacht club called the Three Mile Bay Yacht Club.  Well, the Commodore of the Yacht Club has a birthday today so I wanted to wish Peter a very happy birthday.  I know he is going to have a terrific day because he must have 30 family members all visiting.  The shore is a busy place (and we love every minute of it!)!  I am sure there will be a lot of “getting into the spirit” this weekend!

To make this card I first stamped all the bottles from the stamp set called Bottled Happiness.  Then I cut them all out using the Vintage Bottle Punch.  You can get the punch and the stamp set together in a bundle to can save 10%.  The colors I used for this card are Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Highland Heather, Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis. Starry Sky, Mint Macaron and Fresh Freesia.  I know that is a lot of colors but I think they all look so pretty together.  Next, I tied a piece of white Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essential Pack around three of the bottle necks.  I layered them on top of a piece of Basic White card stock that I had run through my Cut & Emboss Machine using the Dots & Spots Die and on top of a piece of Orchid Oasis card stock.  The card base is Pool Party.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Orchid Oasis ink onto a strip of Basic White card stock.

Happy birthday, Peter!  I hope you have a terrific day!

Cottage Wreaths

Stampin Up Cottage Wreaths

Last weekend we took my son, David, Brittany and their children on a boat ride.  It was the first day that they came to visit when it wasn’t super windy and rough so it was a good day to take my grandchildren on the boat.  Olivia is three years old and full of smiles and sass (as every three year old can be).  Madison is almost eight months old and is the sweetest baby.  When most babies are happy they smile and coo.  Madison smiles and screeches.  It is the funniest thing.  Olivia loved the boat and had a huge smile on her face the whole time.  Madison pretty much slept through the whole ride.  Afterward, we all went for a swim in the lake.  We bought one of those floating mats and the kids love it.

This is a fun card I made using only dies (no stamps).  It was pretty simple to make and did not take a long time at all.  I first cut a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Hues Of Happiness Designer Series Paper and adhered it to a Flirty Flamingo card base. Then I took the Country Wreaths die set and cut one wreath in Basic White card stock and another in the Hues Of Happiness DSP.  I layered these on top of each other and onto the card.   I cut the bow out of the same DSP and layered that on the wreath.  Lastly, I cut the sentiment out using the Amazing Thanks die set.

Here are some photos from last weekend’s boat ride.

Cup Of Tea

Stampin Up Cup Of Tea

I remember when my mother was selling her house to move into Independent Living.  My sister, Emily had to do all the packing and moving because she lived near my mother and the whole sale of the house, closing and move happened really quickly.  My mom kept asking me is if I would like some of her things.  Honestly, there was very little I wanted.  My mother was a little beside herself because both of my sisters and I did not want much of anything.  She has china that had busy patterns and I am more of a plain china person.

When Rob and I moved to Nashville we asked our kids if they wanted anything.  They did not.  What? We have some beautiful things that we just did not have the room for.   I couldn’t understand why they would don’t want it. Then I remembered how I felt about my mother’s belongings.  I guess they felt the same way I did but my things are so much nicer than my mother’s!  Ha!

Tea Boutique is a suite of products in the 2022/2023 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  It includes the stamp set called Cup O Tea, Teacup Dies, Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper and Envelopes.  If you purchase the stamp set and dies in a bundle, you can save 10%.

To make my card I decided to use the Hues Of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  My Mom had some tea cups (that I did not want!) that looked like this DSP so I decided to use the tea cup die and cut it out of this paper.  I stamped the leaves in Granny Apple Green ink on a piece of So Saffron card stock and cut it out using a new set of dies called Deckled Rectangles.  Then I cut out a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock and another piece of the Hues Of Happiness DSP using larger Deckled Rectangles.  I layered all of these onto a So Saffron card base.

After this I stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride ink on Blushing Bride card stock and cut them out using the coordinating die.  The flowers are all on one stamp and there is one die that cuts out all the flowers at once.  Lastly I stamped the tea bag using Granny Apple Green ink onto Granny Apple Green card stock and cut it out.  I added a bit of White Baker’s Twine from the Essentials Pack and adhered it with a Dimensional.

So, if your parents offered you possessions they own, would you take them?  Would your children take yours?  I am thinking you would agree with my decision and your kids would agree with my kid’s.

2022 2023 New Incolors

Stampin Up InColors

I decided to make a quick and easy card using all the new Stampin’ Up!® 2022 2023 InColors.  These colors will be available beginning on May 3rd.  You can get ink pads, card stock, Stampin’ Write Markers, Stampin Blends, 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and ink refills in these beautiful colors.  Starting at the top of this card the first colors is called Orchid Oasis (my favorite), Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet and Starry Sky.  They are all beautiful and go so well together.

I didn’t want to make a busy, complicated card to show you these new colors so I just cut out each hexagon using the Beautiful Shapes Dies.  These dies are in the the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog.  They coordinate with the stamp set called Hello Beautiful.  Hello Beautiful is retiring at the end of that catalog (June 30th) but Stampin’ Up!® is offering a new stamp set called Framed Occasions that will coordinate with these dies.  I adhered the hexagons to a piece of Smoky Slate and Basic White card stock and on a Basic Gray card base.  I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray ink.  It is from the stamp set called Plentiful Plants.  Lastly I added a few Classic Matte Dots.

Remember you still have until May 2nd to order any in stock retiring products.  After that, they will no longer be available.  These new InColors will be available to order on May 3rd.  You are going to love them!

On a side note, my first grandchild, Madelyn turned seven today!  I just can not believe how grown up she is.  The best part of her is she is a very happy, kind and caring young girl.  She makes us very proud.  Happy birthday, Maddie.  We love you!
