Rob and I have really been enjoying the cottage. It has warmed up to the 70’s during the day and the 50’s at night. Perfect day weather and very comfortable sleeping weather. The water is still way too chilly for us to swim in but we did put our feet in the other day. You know when you put your feet into something and it hurts up to your knees? That is what it felt like. I think we will give it a bit more time to warm up before we go further in.
Inked Botanicals is a beautiful suite that is in the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. It includes a stamp set and two punches called Inked & Tiled, Inked Botanicals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and some beautiful 1/4″ Lost Lagoon Bordered ribbon. The ribbon is really pretty and soft and has some texture to it.
To make this card, I first layered a 3.5″ x 4.75″ piece of Lost Lagoon card stock into a Pretty Peacock card base. Then I took a 3.25″ x 4.5″ piece of Very Vanilla card stock and ink the flowers from the Inked & Tiled stamp set in Moody Mauve ink and the leaves and stems in Lost Lagoon ink using Stampin’ Up!® Write Markers. It is very easy to do is you use a stamping platform such as the Stamparatus (now retired) or the MISTI because you can stamp over and over again in the same spot if you need to. Then, I inked the second set of leaves in Lost Lagoon ink, stamped it once on a piece of scrap paper and then again on my card. This made the background leaves much lighter.
Next, I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and punched it out using a retired 1 1/4″ circle punch. I punched a piece of Pretty Peacock card stock using one of the Inked & Tiled punches and layered them together. I adhered together a strip of Pretty Peacock card stock (.75″ x 3.25″) and a strip Lost Lagoon (.5″ x 3.25″) and layered it on the card. I glued the two punched pieces on top using Multipurpose Glue. Lastly, I added some 2023-2025 InColor Dots in Moody Mauve.
