I am really loving a lot of the new products in the Stampin’ Up!®  Annual Catalog.  I can’t decide which are my favorites yet because I haven’t used all the ones I have purchased but I know I do love the Inked Botanicals Suite.  This suite includes the stamp set and dies called Inked & Tiled, Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper, and Lost Lagoon 1/4″ Bordered Ribbon.  You can order the entire suite using one item number (161172) or you can order things separately.

I actually used two different suites on this card.  The other suite is called Countryside Inn.  This suite includes the stamp set and dies called Countryside Corners, Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper and Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder.  The Countryside Corners stamp set is actually one large stamp that you can keep together or cut apart using the coordinating dies.

One thing I have discovered is I love the colors Lost Lagoon and Boho Blue together.  You are going to see a lot of cards made with this combination.  The colors are so soft and pretty together.

To make this card, I first layered a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper onto a Basic White card base.  Next, I stamped the large Countryside Corners stamp using Lost Lagoon ink and then cut the entire piece out using the largest Countryside Corners die.  I could have used the entire piece for my card but I decided to save the other designs for another card so I used the second largest die to cut out the inner designs to put aside. I used the second largest die to cut out a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock and then embossed it using one of the Basics 3D embossing folders.  These folder are not in the catalog but are part of the Online Exclusive products.

Next, I cut out a piece of Basic White card stock using the third largest Countryside Corners die.  I used a stamp from the Inked & Tiled bundle for the flowers and stems.  I used my Boho Blue and Lost Lagoon Stampin Write Markers to color them.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder.  I adhered it to the flower piece using Multipurpose Glue and adhered it to the card using Dimensionals.

Earthen Textures

Stampin Up Earthen Textures

I finally found some time to make something using new products from the new Stampin’ Up!®  Annual Catalog.  There is a new suite called Earthen Elegance.  It includes and stamp and die set called Earthen Textures, Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper, and Natural 1/4″ Wavy Trim.  I wanted to use some of the new InColors and this suite was perfect for that.

To make this card, I first layered a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper onto a Pebbled Path card base.  Next, I stamped the large urn in Copper Clay ink, the smaller one is Pretty Peacock and two of the plants in Gray Granite ink.  I cut them all out using the coordinating dies.  Then I cut out the large leaf in Pretty Peacock card stock.  I love how the die cuts and embosses at the same time.

After doing that, I wrapped the larger urn in the Natural 1/4″ Wavy Ribbon.  I attached it in the back using Tear & Tape.  I adhered the Pretty Peacock urn first using Multipurpose Glue and then the Copper Clay urn using Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and cut it out using one of the Stylish Shapes dies.  Lastly, I add some 2023-2025 InColor Dots.

Petal Park

I placed an order from the new Stampin’ Up!®  2023/2024 Annual Catalog on May 2nd.  I have to admit I did expedite the order because Stampin’ Up!®  has had so many awesome deals (discounts on retiring things and a free shipping day) so receiving an order has taken a long time.  Although, I did get my order, I have not been able to play with it yet.  I spent last week taking care of some of my grandchildren while their parents were away and immediately after that I went to see my other son’s family in Alabama.  All that pretty stuff I got has been sitting there untouched and unloved.  Hopefully this week, I will be able to show you some creations using the new (amazing) products.

In the meantime, I did make a card using some of the new Designer Series Paper I was able to order in April.  It is gorgeous paper using lots of blue including Balmy Blue, Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight and Night Of Navy.  It is called Countryside Inn and is part of the Countryside Inn Suite Collection.

To make this card, I first cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of this DSP and layered it on a Boho Blue card base.  Next, I used the Scalloped Contours dies with Basic White card stock and layered it on top.  I stamped the flowers from the Petal Park stamp set in Night Of Navy and Boho Blue ink.  This stamp set is a two-step set where it takes two or more stamps to make one image.  In this case the outline of the flowers is one stamp and the inside is another.  I punched the flowers out using the coordinating Petal Park Punch.  Next I took the two leaves stamps (one for the inside of the leaves and one for the outside) and stamped them in Old Olive.  Then, I layered the flowers on top using Dimensionals.  I used the stamp set called Artistically Inked to stamp the sentiment in Night Of Navy ink and cut it out using a die from Stylish Shapes. Lastly, I added some Decorative Matter Dots.

Let’s hope I can find time later this week to play with my new products. I can’t wait!

April’s Mystery Parts

Hello again.  My friends and I did another Mystery Parts Challenge.  This is where one of us send the others parts to make a card.  The parts usually consist of some card stock, Designer Series Paper and embellishments (ribbon or bling).  The only rules are you have to use Stampin’ Up!®  products and you must use all the parts that are sent.  Laura was the hostess of the April Mystery Parts Challenge.  Here are the parts she sent us”

I don’t know the name of the Designer Series Paper  but it has beautiful colors.  The extra piece of card stock is Berry Burst and if you look carefully you can see she sent us some clear dots.

Stampin Up Cheerful Daisies

I decided to pair the parts that Laura sent with a new bundle in the Stampin’ Up!®  2023/2024 Annual Catalog called Cheerful Daisies.  I first layered the 3.75″ x 5″ piece of DSP onto the 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Berry Burst card stock and the Basic White card base.  Next, I cut out the front pieces of the daisies using the Cheerful Daisies die set in Basic White card stock and background piece and the stems in Pretty Peacock card stock.  I stamped the center of the flowers in Daffodil Delight ink and the leaves in Pretty Peacock and then cut them out with the coordinating dies.  I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and cut it out using the label die included with the daisy set.

These ladies are so talented and I love seeing what they come up with each month.  Each one of us uses the same products but each card is so different.  One of the great things about Designer Series Paper is that there are different designs on each side of them.  Some of use one side and some used the other making each card look different.  Nice job, ladies!

Last week I went to Savannah, GA to visit my sisters and mom.  Mom is 98 years old and still acts like a young lady.  She exercises every day and is always on the go.  She is the life of the party.  I can only wish I am that active if I make it to 98.  I had a great time with my sisters.  We definitely need to do that more often.

Fresh As A Daisy is one of the new suites in the Stampin’ Up!®  2023/2024 Annual Catalog.  This suite includes the stamp set and dies called Cheerful Daisies, Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper and Adhesive Backed Solid Gems.  If your purchase the entire suite or just the stamp set and die bundle you can save 10%.

One of the fun things about the Fresh As A Daisy DSP is there are two sheets in the pack that can be cut  apart to make a bunch of cards.  It looks like this:

You can cut this paper up to make backgrounds for ten different cards.  Then all you need to do is add a sentiment and you have a beautiful card to send out to someone.

I chose to use the middle section to make my card.  First, I cut all the different rectangles apart using my Paper Trimmer.  It was easy to line up since the Trimmer has a groove you can line it up with.  I wrapped a piece of Boho Blue Textured Ribbon around it and adhered it onto a Boho Blue card base.  I Stamped the sentiment in Boho Blue ink and cut it out using one of the Cheerful Daisies dies and used Dimensionals to add it to the card.  It was so easy peasy.  The longest part was just cutting all the rectangles apart but even that took only a minute or two.

Beautiful Balloons

I hope everyone has had a chance to look through the new, amazing  2023/2024 Stampin’ Up!®  Annual Catalog.  It is chock full of new products, colors and card designs.  There is definitely something for everyone in it.

One of the product suites Demonstrators could order in April was Bright & Beautiful.   This suite included the stamp set and dies called Beautiful Balloons, Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper, and Good Celebrations Specialty DSP.  The stamp set includes multiple sizes of balloons, as well as balloon strings and great sentiments.  The dies cut out all the balloons, plus some stars, and a tag but the fun die that is included cuts out fringe.  If you look at my photo above you can see the fringe it makes on the right side of the card.  Such fun!

I used a lot of the new colors to make this card.  The balloons are Boho Blue, Berry Burst, Bubble Bath and Lemon Lime Twist.  I stamped them all in the various colors and then cut them out using the dies.  I cut out the fringe using the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper and another piece for the background with the confetti and stars.  I stamped the sentiment is Boho Blue ink and cut it out using the Stylish Shapes die set.  Everything was layered onto a Boho Blue card base.

Cheerful Daisies

The New 2023/2024 Stampin’ Up!®  Annual Catalog begins tomorrow.  It is an amazing catalog full of beautiful products.  I think it is one of my favorites in the past few years.  I have a very long list ready to go.  Not only are there great stamps and dies, there are new, beautiful colors this year.

Cheerful Daisies is one of the bundles in the new catalog that I love.  As a Demonstrator, I was able to order it early.  This stamp set has coordinating dies also called Cheerful Daisies, Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper and Adhesive-Backed Gems.  You can save 10% if you purchase the stamp set and dies together.  I decided to use the Cheerful Daisies bundle and some new colors on my card for today.  The colors I used are Moody, Mauve, Boho Blue and Lost Lagoon.  Moody Mauve and Boho Blue are two of the new InColors.

I first cut a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper (also new!)  and  layered it on a Moody Mauve card base.  Bright & Beautiful DSP is a 6″ x 6″ pack of paper in the new catalog.  Next, I cut out the flowers and leaves.  The piece that is Boho Blue on my card is one big die that cuts out all three daisies and the two leaves at once.  Then there are separate dies that cut out the detail layer (the one in Moody Mauve).  If you look carefully at my photo you can see where it cuts and embosses the petals at the same time.  I decided I wanted the leaves a different color so I cut them again in Lost Lagoon and adhered them to the top of the Boho Blue leaves.  There is another separate die that cuts out the stems.  I stamped the sentiment in Moody Mauve ink and cut it out using another die in this set.  I love how it is a different shape and also adds the stitching.  Lastly, I added some Classic Matte Dots to my card.

Alphabet A La Mode

I have to admit I am color challenged.  I know the obvious common colors you can put together (like blue, green and yellow) but when it comes to mixing things up, I fail terribly. That is one of the great things about Stampin’ Up!®.  They use different colors in the Designer Series Paper that I would not normally put together.  So if you ever get stuck on what colors look good with other colors, just look at the DSP and you will get lots of ideas.

To make this card, I first layered a 2″ x 5.5″ piece of Design A Daydream Designer Series Paper  on a 2.25″ v 5.5″ piece of Daffodil Delight on a Pool Party card base.  Next, I cut out a piece of Basic White card stock using the Radiating Stitches Dies and layered that on top.  These dies are part of the Online Exclusive products.

I cut out the letters HAPPY four times using the Alphabet a La Mode dies and Blackberry Bliss card stock and layered them on top of each other.  I cut them out so many times because I wanted them to stick out and the letters are too thin to use Dimensionals.  They were very easy to line up.  The candle is from the set of dies called Sentiment Silhouettes.  I used Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss and Daffodil Delight for the colors.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Heron Habitat.  Originally the stamp say “happy birthday” but I masked off the word “happy” using some tape.  If you don’t know what masking means, it is when you cover part of a stamp with a Post-It Note or some tape, ink up the stamp, remove the mask and stamp.  The tape blocks any ink from getting on the part you don’t want.  I have heard that some people cut their stamps apart (gasp!!) but that would give me hives so I use the masking technique instead.

Dainty Delight

Stampin Up Dainty Delight

Rob and I went to a Luke Combs concert last week in Nashville.  He had Riley Green and Lainy Wilson open for him.  It was an awesome concert.  It was close to being my favorite concert of all time.  Luke doesn’t need to add fancy stuff to his concerts.  He just stands up there and belts it out.  He was amazing and I highly recommend going to see him.

The concert was at Nissan Stadium.  Rob and I decided to go early and tailgate in the parking lot before the show.  It was a simple tailgate.  We just had some snacks and some drinks and relaxed under the shade of a tree. They had live music playing near us, with food trucks and beer tents.  It was lots of fun!

There are only a few more days left to purchase the Stampin’ Up! products that are retiring.  A lot of things have already sold out but there are still plenty of wonderful products left.  May 1st is the last day you will be able to purchase them.

I decide to use a few of the retiring colors (Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, and So Saffron) on my card.  The first thing I did was take a piece of Soft Succulent card stock and cut it out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  Then I embossed it using the one the Basics 3D embossing folders that are part of the Online Exclusive products.  I layered that on an Evening Evergreen card base.  Next, I cut a piece of Basic White card stock with the Scalloped Contours Dies and layered that on top.

Next, I cut the flowers and leaves using the Dainty Delight Dies with Evening Evergreen and So Saffron card stock.  The dies, along with the Dainty Delight stamp set are in the 2023 January – April Mini Catalog.  They are being carried over into the new Annual Catalog that begins on May 2nd but you will not be able to get the 10% discount after May 1st.

The sentiment is from Altenew.  I stamped it in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder.  Then I cut the ends using the Banners Pick-A-Punch and adhered it to the card using Dimensionals.

Farewell So Saffron, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent.  You’ve been good to me!

Lately, I have been focusing on products that are retiring so if you like them you can purchase them before they retire.  Now, so many products are already gone, I decided I needed to focus on products that are carrying over and still available.  Even though you will be able to purchase these items, you may not get the same price once the new catalog starts.  If a bundle carries over, you will not get the 10% discount for purchasing them together.  Stampin’ Up! only offers the discount the first time a bundle is in the catalog.  If they carry over, the bundle discounts disappear.

Sweet Citrus is one of those bundles that lose the discount.  It includes the stamp set, the coordinating dies and an embossing folder.  By the way, I love that Stampin’ Up! is no longer naming the stamp set one thing and the dies or embossing folder another name.  It certainly makes it a lot easier to remember all the names.

Sweet Citrus is a two-step stamp set where it takes two or more stamps to make an image.  In this case, the rinds are one stamp and the inside is another.  The nice thing is both of them stamp all three images at once.  Then the coordinating die cuts them apart.  I stamped both of them in Daffodil Delight ink before cutting them out.  Next, I stamped the leaves three times in Garden Green ink and cut them out using the die.

I cut out a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Garden Green card stock and a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper.  This paper will be retiring on May 1st.  As of this writing, it is still available but things change quickly so I apologize if it is gone already.  Next, I cut a piece of Garden Green and Basic White card stock using the Deckled Rectangles dies.  I layered everything onto a Basic White card base.  I layered the leaves and the lemons on top.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green ink.
