The internet is really an amazing thing. You can find anything on there. Now, you can’t always believe everything you see and read but there is a lot of useful information out there. If you are looking for new stamping ideas or techniques there is a wealth of web sites out there. The best part is it is ok to use a technique you found. It is called CASEing (Copy and Share Everything). There is a certain etiquette that if you know where you got the idea from, you should say so but sometimes you don’t know where it came from. All you need to do is say that you “found this on the internet but don’t know who came up with it”.
I happen to find this technique using masks or stencils on the internet. Jennifer McGuire did a video about it and I thought it was amazing. All I did was place a mask over a piece of Whisper White cardstock (it helps to use Washi Tape to keep it in place) and sponge color over it. Then I moved the mask a bit and sponge another color. I did this four times to make the background in this card. The colors I used are Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Sweet Sugarplum and Pool Party. Each time I moved the mask so there was only white space and then sponged. Isn’t it awesome?!
The stencil I used is from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks set. It was simple to do and I love the results.
The word “celebrate” is a die from the Sale-a-bration Catalog called Celebrate You Thinlits. The ‘you” is from another Sale-a-bration item called Amazing You. You can get either or both of these items with a qualifying order. The leaves are from the Leaf Punch.
