Another August Birthday Card

Amazing Birthday

I got the idea for this card from Shelli Gardner.  Shelli is the Co-Founder and CEO of Stampin’ Up!  She has a blog where she occasionally posts pictures of cards she has made or received.  Her blog address is www.soshelli.com in case you want to check it out.  Anyway, she made a card that sort of, but not really, looked like this.  I just took her design and made it my own.  It is called CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) and is perfectly allowable.  Whenever you CASE something, it is always nice to give the original card maker credit.

I used a few different stamp sets to make this card.  They are Amazing Birthday, Mixed Bunch, Flower Shop, Petite Petals, and Gorgeous Grunge.  I used a new Thinlit called Striped Scallop as well as all the punches that match the flower stamps.

Graduation Card With Flower Patch

Flower Patch

This is supposed to be a graduation card for my niece.  The problem is that I went online to look up the school colors and they are black and gray.  Well, black and gray might be ok for a nephew but this niece of mine is a girly girl so those colors would never do.  I did notice that some of the pictures she posted on Facebook had her in a uniform that was black but either had a splash of red or pink so I picked pink.  I suppose I could have done a Class of 2014 graduation card, but again, she is a girly girl so I wanted to make an appropriate card.

To make this card I used the new Striped Scallop Thinlits Die for the background.  I did use black so at least she got one of her school colors!  Remember, when you use this die, make sure you put waxed paper between the die and the cardstock for easy removal.  The flowers are from the new Photopolymer Stamp Set called Flower Patch.  This set is a two step stamp set, which is terrific and being clear, it is easy to line up.  The sentiment is from And Many More.

Congratulation Sarah!  We are proud of you!
