Stampin Up Flowering Rain Boots

Flowering Rain Boots is a bundle that is in the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog and I think it is just adorable.  The stamp set includes the rain boots and tulip images I used along with a watering can, flower pot, some daisies and sentiments.  The stamp set has coordinating dies called Rain Boots Dies and you can save 10% if you purchase them in a bundle.  The sad part is this bundle is going to retire at the end of this catalog period.  Right now retiring products are only available while supplies last so if you like this bundle or any other products that will be retiring, you should order soon.

To make this card, I first cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (also retiring).  Then I cut this piece at an angle so it looked like the photo below.

After this, I flipped the bottom piece over, lay it underneath the top piece and adhered it to a Basic White card base.

Next I took some 1/4″ Gray Granite Simmer Ribbon and adhered it on the bottom of each piece.  I stamped the tulips, stems and rain boots in Fresh Freesia, Old Olive and Misty Moonlight ink and cut them out using the coordinating dies. I adhered these to the card using Dimensionals.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment from  the Sweet As A Peach stamp set (also retiring) in Basic Gray Ink.

Surgery Update:  It has been a few days since my surgery and I am getting a little better everyday.  I have not been able to get the hang of crutches (those things are deadly!) but my knee scooter works well.  Thank you for all the well wishes!  I truly appreciate all of them.  One of the fun things I have been able to do is spend a lot of time looking at the new catalog that starts on May 3rd.  Here is a copy of the cover.  It is full of wonderful products that you are all going to love!

Last year Rob and I discovered The Peach Truck.  The Peach Truck comes up from Georgia and sells the most delicious peaches I have ever had.  My friend, Buffy always talks about how delicious the peaches her father would grow were and I always though eh, peaches are ok but not the best fruit I have ever had.  Of course, I only tried peaches from the grocery store.  Well, now I know what she was talking about.  Those Georgia peaches are so juicy and sweet.  You have to eat them over a sink because the juice just drips.  They are just yummy!  I can’t wait until The Peach Truck arrives this spring!

You’re A Peach is another great suite that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021/2022 Annual Catalog.  What makes it even better is you can purchase the Sweet As A Peach stamp set and the Peach Dies for 20% during the month of March.  This suite also includes You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper and Mini Jam Jars.  You are are into making jams or jellies these Mini Jars are adorable.

To make this card I first stamped the leaves of the peach tree in Granny Apple Green ink on a 4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White card stock.  Then I inked up the peaches and flowers using Pale Papaya ink.  I took my Calypso Coral Stampin Write Marker and colors the edges of the peach stamp and the middle of the flower stamp before stamping on card stock.  Then I cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I cut a 4″ x 2.75″ piece of You’re A Peach DSP.  Then I decided that I wanted to do something different.  I ended up using one of the Basic Borders dies and cut the Basic White piece of card stock that had the leaves on it to cut the stitched scallops.  I did the same with a piece of Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya card stock and layered them all together on the piece of DSP.  I wrapped the 1/2″ Pale Papaya & White ribbon along the bottom and adhered everything to a Calypso Coral card base.

I also wanted to remind you that the 2020/2022 Incolors will be retiring on May 2nd.  If they run out of stock prior to that, they will not be restocking them.  These colors include Bumble Bee, Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade (my favorite), Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight.  If you like these colors then you need to purchase them before they run out because once they are gone, they are gone for good.

There are so many wonderful new bundles in the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog that it took me a long time to decide what to get.  To make it a little easier on me, I just decided to get everything I wanted.  It wasn’t great for my budget but it made me happy (which counts as very important, don’t you think?).

Honeybee Home was one of those bundles I wanted right away.  I have to say I have a thing about bees.  They like to sting my feet and boy, do they hurt!  I can’t wear flip flops at the cottage anymore because we have so much clover that the bees hide inside it and inevitably ended up having a bee fly between the bottom of the flip flop and my toes.  It happens every summer.  For some crazy reason I still love paper bees.  They are cute and make great cards.

The Honeybee Home bundle includes the stamp set with the same name and coordinating dies called Honeybee Blooms.  Stampin’ Up!® also offers an embossing folder called Hive.  These products work so well together.  To make this card I first embossed a piece of 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic White card stock using the Hive Embossing Folder.  Then I cut out a circle using the Layering Circles dies in Bumble Bee card stock (appropriately named) and embossed that with the folder too.  I stamped the flowers and the bees in Memento Black Ink and colored the flower using my Stampin’ Up!® Blends in Fresh Freesia and Old Olive and the bees using my Bumble Bee Stampin Write Marker.  I adhered it all onto a Bumble Bee card base.

The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment from the stamp set called Sweet As a Peach in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool.

The Honeybee Bundle is actually part of the Heart & Home Suite that includes another bundle called Blessings Of Home, lots of different embellishments and some beautiful Designer Series Paper.

Stampin Up Sweet As A Peach

I know it is now Fall (it was 30 degrees when I got up this morning!!) and Christmas is coming but I decided to make a fun summery card.  Sometimes I get so caught up in the new catalog that I forget there is still the Annual Catalog out there with wonderful products.  I decided I hadn’t used the You’re A Peach Suite  lately so I took it out. This suite includes the stamp set called Sweet As A Peach, the coordinating Peach Dies, You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper (I didn’t use this on the card today) and the Mini Jam Jars.  It was the first suite I bought out of the Annual Catalog because I loved it the minute I saw it.

The fun thing about this card is it is a fun fold card.  I don’t know the name of it but it doesn’t really matter.  Here is what it looks like when you lift up the front of the card.

Stampin Up Sweet As A Peach

To make this card I first cut an A2 (8.5″ x 5.5″) card base in Basic White card stock and folded it in half.  Then I placed it in my Paper Trimmer and cut from the score line to one corner.  I cut a piece of 4″ x 5.25 piece of the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper and then cut that in half from corner to corner.  I adhered one of the pieces to the front of the card base.  I also cut another 4″ x 5.25″ piece of DSP and adhered that to the inside of the card base.

The folding part in the middle of the card is 8.5″ x 3.25″ and then folded in half.  I decorated the front of that also using the Pansy Petals DSP.  I stamped the peach using Pale Papaya ink and the stem using Granny Apple Green Ink.  Then I cut those two images out using the coordinating dies from the set called Peach Dies.  I stamped the sentiment in Fresh Freesia Ink onto a 2″ x 3″ piece of Basic White card stock and then onto a  2.25″ x 3.25″ piece of Fresh Freesia card stock.  Then I adhered the entire piece onto the card base.

It was a pretty easy fun fold card to do and did not take a long time.

Sweet As A Peach

Stampin Up Sweet As A Peach

This is another card we made at our last stamp camp meeting.  We used the You’re A Peach Suite that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.  This suite includes the stamp set called Sweet As A Peach, the coordinating dies called Peach Dies (and you can save 10% if you purchase them in a bundle),  You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper and Mini Jam Jars (which are adorable!).

To make this card I first stamped the leaves in Granny Apple Green ink and cut them out using the coordinating die.  I stamped the peach in Pale Papaya and then used a Stampin Write Marker to add a little bit of Calypso Coral on the edges.  Then I cut them out using the die set too.  I added a strip of the You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper along the edge of the card and then a small strip of Balmy Blue over that.  I used my Blending Brushes to add a bit of Balmy Blue to a 3.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Basic White cardstock and then layered the leaves over it.  I attached the peaches using some Dimensionals.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue ink.

Last week was another whirlwind of grandchildren at the cottage.  This time my son, Zachary and his wife, Mary came with their two children.  Emory (or Emy) is four years old and her brother Jackson is 10 months.  Once again we had a great time swimming, boating and making lots of crafts.  Emy and I made a couple of cards to send to her cousins too.  She is a natural at it!  Here is a picture of  a very happy Jackson playing with a swim noodle and Movie Star Emy.

Hello everyone.  It is time for another Stamp Off challenge with Jackie, Buffy and me.  This time we have an inspiration challenge.  I don’t think we have done one of these before.  If we have, it was a long time ago and it was fun to do.  An inspiration challenge is when we are given a photograph and we need to use that as inspiration for our creation.  Here is the photo we used:

Isn’t this a fun photograph?  There are so many things we could use for inspiration on it.  I went back and forth between using the colors or the layout.  I love the colors but we don’t have a turquoise anymore so that made it hard.  I decided to use the plants and the floor as inspiration for my card.  I just loved that floor and the flowers and plants.

To make this card I used a few different stamp sets and dies. To make the floor I used a stamp set called Watercolor Shapes.  This stamp set is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021/2022 Annual Catalog.  I stamped some of the shapes in Sahara Sand ink and some in Smoky Slate.  Then I cut out the flower box in Basic White card stock using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

Next I stamped the background leaves using the Plentiful Plants stamp set with Garden Green and Granny Apple Green ink and cut them out using the coordinating dies called Perfect Plants.  These are also in the Annual Catalog and can be purchased in a Bundle to save 10%.  I stamped the leaves in the front in Granny Apple Green and the berries or flowers hanging down in Flirty Flamingo ink.  Then I cut out a bunch of tiny flowers using the Peach dies in Fresh Freesia, Mango Melody and Basic White card stock and scattered them around the flowers and leaves.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment from Sweet As A Peach in Garden Green and adhered it to the card.

Now, let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made using this inspiration photo.  I always love this part of our challenges.

Let The Designer Series Paper Do The Talking

This year Stampin’ Up!® has outdone themselves on Designer Series Paper.  Normally I purchase 2 or 3 packs of it but this year I think I came close to buying them all because they are all so gorgeous.  Expression In Ink Designer Series Paper is one of these.  It is just beautiful.  This paper has beautiful colors like Polished Pink, Pear Pizzazz and Pale Papaya plus it has gold streaks running through them.  This paper is perfect for when you are in a hurry and need a card quickly but you still want it to wow the person you are sending it to.

To make both of these cards all I did was cut the DSP and adhere it to a card base (Pear Pizzazz and Polished Pink).  Then I just added a sentiment.  The Pear Pizzazz card using two sentiment stamps from the set called Sweet As A Peach.  I stamped both sentiments in Shaded Spruce ink. Then I added a couple of the Genial Gems.

I used the stamp set called Biggest Wish on the Polished Pink card.  I did stamp the background of the sentiment with a stamp from Artistically Inked using Polished Pink ink because I felt it needed a little more color.  I first stamped it on a scrap piece of paper before stamping on my card stock to make it a bit lighter.

Simple cards are quick and easy to make when using Stampin’ Up!® Designer Series Paper and adding a sentiment so don’t be afraid to make one to send to someone.  They will love it as much as if you spent hours on it.  PS:  You don’t have to say it was an easy card.  They will never know!

Seascape & Soft Pastels

Hello everyone!  It is time for another BS & J Productions Stamp Off Challenge.  This time our challenge was to use the Stampin’ Up!®  Soft Pastels Assortment otherwise known as chalks.  I have to say, this was a challenge for me.  I remember have chalks a very long time ago but I rarely used them.  As a matter of fact, when we moved a year ago, I threw out the old tin of them.  I discovered that Splitcoast Stampers has a bunch of techniques you can use with chalk.

Here is the card I made.

I decided to use one of the Plenty Of Patterns Masks (or stencils) for my technique.  It is very simple and easy to do (which everyone knows I love).  I took a piece of Basic White card stock and layered a mask over it.  I taped it on the sides so the mask would not love around.  Then I pressed Versamark Ink all over the mask making sure it was completely covered.  Then I let it dry over night.

The Soft Pastels Assortment has eight different colors in the box.  I used the Night Of Navy, Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana chalks.  The other colors in the box are Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody, Mossy Meadow and Poppy Parade.  I just ran the chalk over the dried Versamark ink.  The chalk sticks to the ink really well.  I did end up spraying it with Krylon Clear Acrylic Coating but I am not sure if that was necessary.  I just didn’t want to send someone a card where their hands would get all chalky.

Next I cut out the Seahorse from the Sea Life Dies in a piece of Basic White cardstock and then again in a piece of Highland Heather.  These dies coordinate with the Seascape stamp set and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I snipped out the three little parts that hold the Seahorse together.  I backed the negative piece of the Basic White cardstock with a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock and then adhered the Highland Heather Seahorse inside it.

The sentiment is from Sweet As A Peach.  I stamped it in Highland Heather ink and adhered it over the Seahorse with Stampin Dimensionals.  I felt like the card needed something more so I added three of the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels and a piece of Highland Heather Grosgrain ribbon behind the Seahorse.  This ribbon is just gorgeous and has just the right amount of sparkle.

By the way, today is Rob’s and my anniversary.  38 years together!  It is hard to believe.  Happy anniversary, Rob.  I love you even more today and 38 years ago!

You’re A Peach is one of my favorite suites in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021/2022 Annual Catalog.  It was definitely on my first order.  The suite includes the stamp set called Sweet As A Peach, the coordinating dies called Peach Dies (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle), You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper and these adorable Mini Jam Jars.

I love peaches although I don’t get them very often.  The grocery store peaches just aren’t that good.  They are hard as rock and lack flavor.  When we moved to Tennessee my daughter in law told me about the Peach Truck. It comes to Tennessee when the peaches are ripe in Georgia.  A couple of days before we left for the cottage, Rob saw an ad for the Peach Truck and it was going to be near our house the next day.  I had to go get some of the peaches and I have to say, they did not disappoint.  They were the best peaches I ever had.  Of course, Jackie and Buffy make me so jealous because they both grow peaches (well Buffy’s mom grows them) but the Peach Truck makes up for it.  They were delicious!  One thing the peach lady told me is to store the peaches in a brown paper bag until they are soft enough to eat.  Perhaps I need to try that with a grocer store peach, although I know it still will not be as good and the fresh ones on the Peach Truck.

To make this card I first stamped the peaches from Sweet As A Peach using Pale Papaya ink while rolling the edges in Calypso Coral.  That technique is called Rock “n Roll.  Then I stamped them on Pale Papaya cardstock and cut them out using the coordinating Peach Dies.  Then I stamped the leaves in Shade Spruce ink and cut them out using the dies too.  I layered them on a piece of the Beauty Of The Earth Designer Series Paper that looks like a sky.  I added the tiny little Calypso Coral flowers and then stamped the sentiments in Shade Spruce and Calypso Coral in.  I cut them out using a Tasteful Labels die.

I was going to start this post as saying the You’re A Peach Suite is one of my favorites in the 2021/2022 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog but then I remembered that I probably say that about every suite in the catalog.  I definitely have a lot of favorites and the peach suite is one of them.

One of the reasons I like doing the BS& J Productions Stamp Off Challenges is because Buffy, Jackie and I all have different tastes.  Jackie loves funny stamps and critters.  Buffy is mostly a vintage stamper and I love flowers.  I can never have enough flower stamps and according to Stampin’ Up!® flowers are best sellers so I can’t be alone.  The great thing about SU is they offer enough products to make us all happy.

So, after all that is said, Sweet As A Peach IS one of my favorite bundles in the new catalog!  It has a set of coordinating dies called Peach Dies and has beautiful Designer Series Paper.

To make this card I first stamped the peaches using Calypso Coral ink onto Pale Papaya cardstock.  I stamped the flowers and leaves on Basic White cardstock using Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz ink.  I cut them all out using the coordinating dies.  Then I cut out the centers of the flowers.  I layered everything onto a piece of the new 6″ x 6″ In Color Designer Series Paper and on a Basic White card base.
