Swirly Frames & Stitched Stars

First of all I would like to wish everyone a Healthy and Happy New Year.  It is hard to believe it is 2020!  It is going to be a year of change and excitement in my house and I am looking forward to all of it.  More on that later…..

I thought I would make a fun card to celebrate the new year.  The colors I used are Mango Melody and Bermuda Bay.  I first randomly stamped the circles from the stamp set called Swirly Frames.  I won this set at a Stampin’ Up!® OnStage event a while ago and haven’t used it much but it really is a fun set.  Then I cut out the stars using the Stitched Star dies in the 2019 Holiday Catalog.  Remember, this catalog is only going to be available until tomorrow.  Some of the best products will be going away so if you like something make sure you purchase it today or tomorrow.  Luckily the Stitched Stars are carrying over.  I cut the stars out using Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay and Gold Foil Sheets.  The little stars are from the swirly looking die in this set.  I love that it cuts out all different sizes.

The sentiment is from Vibrant Vases.  I have to admit.  I did a thing that you would never expect me to do.  Vibrant Vases is a Photopolymer stamp set.  The stamp I used also has the words “every tiny victory” underneath the word Celebrate.  I cut it off.  Before you faint, I realized that you can cut Photopolymer stamps and it doesn’t really hurt them because you can piece them back together on a block and they work as good as new.  You can also mask out the other words but cutting works so much better.  I thought it was a genius idea since I love the font on the Celebrate stamp but wanted to be able to use it as a birthday, anniversary, graduation or whatever you want to celebrate.

Lastly I add some Metallic Pearls in gold.

Happy New Year.  May all your wishes come true this year!

Beautiful Bouquet

I don’t know about you, but I am always seeing card inspiration everywhere I go.  Rob thinks I am a little crazy but if you are a stamper, I am sure you do the same thing.  The other day I was in an unnamed craft store buying some candles and saw this pretty wreath.  It was made of grapevine and had artificial flowers on one side.  I took a picture of it because I knew I could make a pretty card with the same layout.

To make this card I first stamped the circle from the stamp set called Swirly Frames in Soft Suede Ink.  Then I stamped the flowers and leaves from the stamp set called Beautiful Bouquet in Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather and Old Olive inks.  I cut them out using the matching dies called Bouquet Bunch.  This stamp set and matching dies are big sets.  The stamp set has 37 stamps in it and there are 21 dies.  Both of them are being carried over into the new Annual Catalog.

What gives you inspiration?  I would love to know.

Birthday Backgrounds

This is one of the cards we made in our monthly club meeting in May.  I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and thought it was really cute.  It uses a few different stamp sets and I am happy to day all of them are carrying over into the new catalog!  It is a very simple and quick card to make when you are in a hurry.

To make this card I first used the stamp set called Swirly Frames.  I actually won this stamp set at one of the previous OnStage events.   I used the rectangle frame and stamped it in Granny Apple Green.  I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock the same size as the center of the frame and stamped all the confetti and streamers in Highland Heather, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight and the adhered it to the center of the rectangle.  This way you don’t accidentally get some on the outline of the rectangle.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays in Memento Black Ink onto Granny Apple Green cardstock and layered that on top.
