A Watercolor Stamp Off

Stamp Off Logo Clean

This week our Stamp Off Challenge is a Watercolor Challenge.

february-3

Now, this can mean a lot of things.  You can use your new Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils with a Blender Pen or Aqua Painter so you can just use regular ink.  I decided to use my Aqua Painter with regular ink to make my card.

Birthday Bright, Swirly Scribbles, Stampin Up, susanstamps.wordpress.com

To make this card, I cut the die from Swirly Scribbles on Whisper White Card Stock.  Then I took a piece of Watercolor Paper and measured with a pencil where the opening will be.  Then I squeezed the top of an ink pad and picked up some ink with my Aqua Painter.  I used Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry.  Here is what is looked like that this point.

Then I glued the Swirly Scribble over the ink colors.

Finally I pieced the outer edges from the original piece of Whisper White.  It was kind of like a puzzle.

The stamp set I used is a new one from the Occasion Catalog called Birthday Bright.  It actually goes with a cute kit called Birthday Bright Project Kit.  You can buy the stamp separately and I really like this set.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie created.  One of the things I love about our Friday Stamp Off Challenges is we don’t share our projects with each other ahead of time so I am going to be as surprised and pleased as you are!

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase! Get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 workshop (or order)! Join my Stampin Up! family and get a $125 worth of product for $99 PLUS your choice of TWO FREE STAMP SETS (an added value of up to $104)!!

Another Stamp Off Challenge

Stamp Off Logo Clean

Today’s Stamp Off Challenge is a sketch challenge by Jackie (apparently I get that part wrong a lot so I can’t really promise it is Jackie’s but I think it is).  It could also be a layout challenge because it is called Pile It On. In any case, here is the challenge.

november-4-2016

Here is my card:

Swirly Bird, Time Of Year, Swirly Scribbles, Bunch Of Banners

I used a few stamp sets for this card.  One is called Swirly Bird (the bird), on is called Time Of Year, which is a hostess set in the Annual Catalog (Birthday) and the happy came from Crazy About You.  I used a couple of different Big Shot Dies too.  The wreath is from Swirly Scribbles and I cut the banner out using Bunch Of Banners.

As a side note, Buffy, Jackie and I are on our way to go to Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage.  Buffy and I are both going to the one in New Jersey but unfortunately, Jackie is going to Phoenix.  I can’t wait.  We will get an early peek at the 2017 Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalogs and have a fun filled day with other demonstrators from the area.  If you are interested in more information and becoming a demonstrator, just send me an email.  I will be glad to answer any questions you have.  One of  my newest downline, Char, is also going! It should be a lot of fun.

Now let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made.  I am sure we will be wowed!

Swirly Bird Club Challenge

Every month I give my Club Members a card challenge to make for the next meeting.  Usually it is a sketch challenge but sometimes I do colors or themes.  Our September meeting is tonight and is another sketch challenge.  Here is the challenge:

Club Challenge Sept 2016-001

Here is the card I made:

Swirly Bird, Vertical Greetings

I used a couple of stamp sets to make this card.  The bird is from the stamp set called Swirly Bird and has a set of matching set of Thinlits called Swirly Scribbles.  You can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Vertical Greetings.  I love this set because of the sentiments can fit so nicely is a thinner spot because they are vertical (makes sense!).  The Designer Series Paper I used is called Floral Boutique.

In the next week or so I will show you pictures of the cards my club members made with this sketch.  They are an awesome set of stampers so I am sure they will be amazing.

A Swirly Bird Thanks

Swirly Bird, Hello You

I haven’t used my Swirly Bird Stamp Set or Swirly Scribbles Thinlits in a while so I thought I would bring them back out.  They are such fun to play with that it reminded me of how much I like this bundle.  Who doesn’t like scribbles, flowers, birds, kites, sailboats and splatters?  It has everything you could want!

First I decided to use a couple of the new In Colors for this card called Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy.  Then I cut the scribble out using our Silver Foil Paper to add a little shine to the card.  The “thanks” is from the Hello You Thinlits.

Here is a picture of Madelyn at the big pool for the first time.

Swirly Scribbles Again

Swirly Scribbles, Confetti Celebration, Number of Years

As you know, I really love the Swirly Bird stamp set and the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.  I use them a lot!  I always feel that if I can get a lot of use out of one stamp set and Thinlits, then it is definitely worth buying.  There are some sets out there that really can only be used one way (I won’t mention them by name).  Some of them are cute but again, you make one card out of them and you are done.  This is not true with the Swirly set.  There are so many uses for it.  Remember, if you buy both in a Bundle you can save 10%!

This time I stamped the sentiments from the Confetti Celebration stamp set.  The Hooray is backed by one of the Swirly Scribbles dies.  The banner is from Number of Years and it was cut out using the matching Framelits called Large Numbers.

Don’t forget it is Bonus Days.  For every $50 you spend during the month of July you earn a $5 coupon towards your August purchases.  There is no limit as to how many coupons you can earn!

Buffy’s Color Challenge

Buffy has a group of demonstrators that meet once a month to do projects.  She was so kind to invite me to the online portion of her group because I don’t really have an active Upline.  She gave this group of ladies a color challenge  to do.  It was to use Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush and Dapper Denim.  Here is the card I made using these colors.

Mixed Borders, Swirly Scribbles

I used a new set from the 2016/2017 called Mixed Borders.  It is such a fun stamp set because it has a few border stamp sets that have a space in-between them where you can fit a sentiment.  To make the border above I stamped two of them.  One is a flower border and the other one is a leaf border.  Under the sentiment is a blank spot where I could have stamped “I hope your birthday is amazing” but I chose to put it on a tag.  By the way, the tag is from the stamp set called Rose Wonder that has a matching set of Framelits called Rose Garden Thinlits.  Then I added the swirl from Swirly Scribbles.

Swirly Bird

Swirly Bird, One Big Meaning

As you can tell, I love the new Swirly Bird stamp set and the matching Swirly Scribbles Thinlits that are in the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  There is just so much you can do with this set.  You probably already know I like it since I changed my blog heading using it.  You can save 10% by buying them in a Bundle.

This time I used the set to make sailboats.  Of course, this makes Rob happy because he loves to sail.  He always complains there aren’t a lot of stamp sets that have boats in them so he was happy to see this one.  He actually doesn’t really care, but he pretends to like it when there is one.  He is happy that I have found a hobby but isn’t really into stamping himself.  Of course, he wishes it wasn’t quite so expensive but he doesn’t really mind.

Swirly Scribbles

Swirly Bird, Swirly Scribbles

Here is another card I made using the Swirly Bird Stamp set and the matching Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies (you can save 10% by buying them in a Bundle).  As you can tell, I love this set.  It really is very versatile because it has so many different looks.  Be prepared because you are going to see a lot of cards made with this set.  Every card looks totally different.

I cut the word “enjoy” using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies.  There are two word dies with this set.  The other one is “for you”.  That is one nice thing about Stampin’ Up!  You can mix and match most of their products to make different cards.

A Stamp Off In Color Challenge

Stamp Off New Logo

Today’s Stamp Off Challenge is to use our New In Colors.

2016 2018 In Colors

We could use all of them or just a couple.  If you know me at all you know I would not use all of them.  I would get hives using all of them so I decided to use four out of five.  Not too bad for me!

Swirly Bird, Swirly Scribbles

I made this card for our challenge but liked it so much I decided to use it as one of the cards  for my Stamp Club.  The stamp set I used is a brand new one from the 2016 Annual Catalog.  It is called Swirly Bird and has a set of matching Thinlits called Swirly Scribbles.  You can save 10% by purchasing both in a bundle.  I can tell you that you are going to see this set used a lot on my blog.  I like it a lot because there are so many different ways to use it.  The In Colors I used were Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum and Emerald Envy (with a little Daffodil Delight thrown in).

Now let’s head over to Buffy’s and Jackie’s blog to see what wonderful creations they made!
