Cup Of Tea

Stampin Up Cup Of Tea

I know people think I am crazy because I don’t drink coffee.  Actually, I have never had a cup of it in my life.  I never even tasted it.  I just can’t stand the smell.  My parents did not drink coffee at all either and neither do my sisters.  I guess it depends on how you were raised.  I drink a cup of tea every day, though, and I do get a little cranky if I don’t have one (unlike a certain person who shall go unnamed who gets violent with no coffee).  Ask me how I know! 🙂

The Tea Boutique Suite of products is in the Stampin’ Up! 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.  The suite includes the Cup of Tea stamp set, Teacup Dies, Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper and Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes.  You can order the entire suite using one item number (158670) or you can order things separately.  If you order the stamp set and the dies using the bundle item number (158667) you can save 10%. The Suite order number includes the 10% discount too.

To make this card, I first cut a 3.75″ x 5″ piece of the Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper and layered it onto a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Fresh Freesia card stock and a Basic White card base.  Next, I cut out the tag using the Tailor Made Tags and the same DSP.  I stamped the tea cup using Orchid Oasis ink on a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock and cut it out using the coordinating die.  I stamped the leaves in Garden Green ink and the flowers in Fresh Freesia and cut them out too.  I adhered the flowers using Mini Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment from the Sending Smiles stamp set and cut it out using a die from the Sending Dies.  Lastly, I tied a quadruple bow using white Baker’s Twine and adhered it using a Glue Dot.

Let me know if your parents drank coffee when you were growing up and whether or not you do too.  I would be interested in knowing if my hypothesis is correct or not.

Amazing Thanks

Stampin Up Amazing Thanks

Sometimes you just have to let the paper do the talking.  Stampin’ Up!® has the best Designer Series Paper.  There are so many packs to choose from and all of it is just gorgeous!  Plus, the colors are so beautiful and they all go together so it takes the guesswork out of trying to figure out what color goes with what.  Pretty Prints is one of the packs of Designer Series Papers in the 2022/2023 Annual Catalog.  It has these beautiful designs on the front and back of each sheet.  The sheet I chose uses Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Sweet Sorbet.

To make this card I first cut a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of the Pretty Prints DSP.  At first, I was just going to adhere it to a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Petal Pink card stock but I decided to wrap a piece of white Baker’s Twine around it to give it a little interest.  Then I adhered it to the Petal Pink card stock and a Calypso Coral card base.

Next, I cut a tag out in Petal Pink card stock using the Tailor Made Tags dies.  I cut the sentiment out of Calypso Coral card stock from the Amazing Thanks die set and adhered them to the tag.  I tied a bow out of some more Baker’s Twine and tied it to the tag and then adhered it to the card.  I just realized I did not use a stamp at all.  It was just totally dies.

Slim Sayings

Stampin Up Slim Sayings

I was so excited when I first saw the Slim Sayings Bundle in the Stampin’ Up!® 2022 January – June Mini Catalog. This bundle includes a stamp set called Slim Sayings (which has six different large sentiments) and coordinating dies called Slim Card Dies.  These dies are such fun because they cut our different backgrounds for your cards.  Slimline cards have been really popular lately.  I have actually made a few that I in the past but having sentiments and dies to go with them is great fun.  Slimline cards can be different sizes.  The products Stampin’ Up!® are made for a 3.5″ x 8.5″ card.  Some slimline cards are 3″ x 6″.  It doesn’t really matter what size you like because both are fun.  I even used the Slim Sayings stamp set on this card which is an A2 (4.25″ x 5.5″) card.

To make this card I first stamped the sentiment on a piece of Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper using Misty Moonlight ink.  This paper is one of the Sale-a-bration products you can get for free with a qualifying order.  I cut it out using a die from the set called Tailor Made.  Then I stamped it again on another piece of this Designer Series Paper and just cut out the word “one” using a smaller Tailor Made die.  Then I cut two pieces of 1/8″ Cotton Ribbon Combo in Misty Moonlight and attached one to the top of each tag. I took a piece of White Baker’s Twine (Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack) and tied a bow around both of them.  Then I glued the smaller one over the larger tag.  It lined up perfectly.

Next I took a third piece of the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper and cut out a rectangle using the Stitched Rectangles die set.  Then I ran this piece of DSP through my Cut ‘N Emboss Machine using the new Gingham embossing folder.  It is a little hard to see in the photo but it added a lot of dimension to the paper.  I layered this on a Misty Moonlight card base and attached the tags using Dimensionals.

If you order the Slim Saying bundle during the month of February you can get the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper for free!  This paper pack has 48 sheets of 6″ x 6″ patterned paper.

Blackberry Beauty

Welcome to another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Buffy and me.  This week our challenge is to use the Colors Of Fall.  I actually made three cards using the Colors Of Fall.  I wrote an entire blog post for this challenge and then I changed my mind and decided to use this card that I made with the gorgeous Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper.  If you don’t have  this paper, you need to get it.  It is in the 2021 July – December Mini Catalog.  The paper uses the colors Blackberry Bliss, Cinnamon Cider and gold foil. It is just beautiful! You can click on the link below to see a close up of it.

Here is the card I made:

Stampin Up Blackberry Beauty

This card was very simple to make but I think it is very elegant.  I first adhered a piece of the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper to a Blackberry Bliss card base.  After that I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Peaceful Moments using Versamark Ink.  I embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool.  One trick I learned is if you heat the embossing powder from behind it does not warp the card stock as much but still melts the powder perfectly.    I repeated that step two more times in order to make the sentiment stand out more.  It is really easy to stamp something a few times in the same position using a Stamparatus because if you put the card stock in the same place each time, the sentiment will stamp in the same place.

After embossing the sentiment three times I cut it out using a die from Tailor Made Tags.  This die set cuts out eight different sized tags in two different designs.  I cut out the feather from the die set called Nature’s Thoughts in Gold Foil and adhered it to the tag using Stampin Dimensionals.  Then I tied a piece of gold Baker’s Twine (retired) and adhered the tag to the card.

Now, let’s go see what colors Buffy and Jackie used for their cards.  I am sure they will be beautiful!

Biggest Wish

Stampin Up Biggest Wish

Right now Stampin’ Up!® is having a sale on some of their gorgeous Designer Series Paper packs.  The Beauty Of The Earth is one of these packs that is 15% off until August 2nd.  This paper is so beautiful and it makes a wonderful card to send to someone by itself.   All you need to do is add a sentiment and you are done.   The best thing about Stampin’ Up!® Designer Series Paper is it takes the guess work out of trying to figure out color combinations.  It does it for you and I love how it uses colors I would never put together by myself but go so well together.

Stampin Up Beauty Of The Earth

For my card I took a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of the Designer Series Paper and adhered it to a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Evening Evergreen Card stock and a Basic White card base.  I could have just taken a small “thank you” stamp and added to the paper and it would have been a perfect card but I wanted to step it up a bit.  I used the stamp set called Biggest Wish and stamped the word “thanks” in Cinnamon Cider ink on a piece of Basic White card stock.  Then I stamped the smaller sentiment underneath using Evening Evergreen ink and then cut it out using a new die set called Tailor Made Tags.  I added a small piece of Evening Evergreen 3/8″ Chevron Weave ribbon on the end of the tag.  The whole card took only minutes but is definitely beautiful enough to send to someone.

There are lots more different packs of Designer Series Paper that are just as beautiful on sale until August 2nd so don’t miss out on getting your favorites!

Biggest Wish

Stampin Up Biggest Wish

This simple card was made using lot of fun new products in the Stampin’ Up!® 2021/2022 Annual Catalog.  Let’s start with the sentiment.  It is from a new stamp set called Biggest Wish.  I love that it has big, bold words.  There are five large words in capital letters which include happy, birthday, thanks, hello and friend.  Then it has five lower case stamps using the same words so you can mix and match them.

I stamped the words on a piece of Basic White cardstock and then cut it out using the new Tailor Made Tags Dies.  This set of dies has eight different sized tags in two different styles.  It also has two dies that cut out a circle or half circle to surround the hole.

The Designer Series Paper I used is part of the Host offerings that you can earn for free.  It is called Pattern Party.  It has a whooping 48 double sided 12″ x 12″ sheets of paper ( four each of 12 different designs).  There are some sheets that have black and white designs and some with beautiful colors. This product is not available to buy.  You can only get it through hostess benefit.  Place a $150 or more and you can use $18 of your reward money to get it for free.

The last new product I used on this card are the Basic Border Dies.  I love these dies and you will see them a lot.  They cut out six different borders such as the stitched zig zag one I used, as well as a chevron, rounded, cloud, and two other.

To make the card I first stamped the word happy in Pale Papaya ink and then birthday in Poppy Parade.  Then I cut it out using one the of Tailor Made Tags Dies.  I colored White Baker’s Twine using my Pale Papaya and Poppy Parade Blends.  I cut out a piece of Poppy Parade and Pattern Party paper using one of the Basic Borders Dies.   I adhered the tag to the card using Dimensionals.
