Tasteful Touches

Stampin Up Tasteful Touches

Stampin’ Up!® has been on a campaign to help beginner stampers.  It is called #simplestamping.  Sometimes we forget that we were once a beginner stamper and didn’t have a clue how to make a card or have many supplies.  I learned at that time that I just needed to keep it simple.  My first Stampin’ Up!® purchase was a Valentine set, Whisper White cardstock, Real red cardstock and Black Ink.  The first cards I made were Valentines for my family and they all loved them.  Everyone needs to start simple and progress from there.

I decided to make a very simple card that just involves stamping with ink to show how simple is still beautiful.  I used the stamp set called Tasteful Touches.  This stamp set does have coordinating dies called Tasteful Labels (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle) but when first starting out you probably would not get them.  I stamped the feather in Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Just Jade and Seaside Spray.  I stamped the sentiment in Smoky Slate.  You don’t need to use all those colors.  One or two would do.

I can’t think of a single person who would not appreciate receiving this card in the mail.  Wouldn’t you?

As a reminder, this is my birthday week. I have decided to celebrate my birthday with you all week by giving FREE Shipping to all my customers who place a $50 order or more with me using the Hostess Code RMHPRSAM.  If you place an order online, I will rebate you the shipping costs by PayPal or if you live locally, I can give you a check.  If you need help ordering, let me know and I can place the order for you.  Remember, you have to use the Hostess Code in order to receive free shipping.  If your order is $150 (excluding tax and shipping) or more, do not use the Hostess Code so that you will get the hostess benefits yourself.  If you do that I will still rebate you the shipping.  This offer ends tomorrow, Saturday, August 29, 2020.

Tasteful Touches

Tasteful Touches is a stamp set in the 2020/2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  It is part of a suite called In Good Taste.  This suite includes the Tasteful Touches stamp set, the matching dies called Tasteful Labels (which includes ten different label dies to use for sentiments), the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and In Good Taste Elements.  One of my favorite things about this suite is the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.  It has some great background designs that look 3D.

The colors I used for this card are Pretty Peacock, Crumb Cake and Rococo Rose.  I first stamped the flower in Rococo Rose and cut it out with my Paper Snips.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink and cut that out using of the Tasteful Labels Dies.  It is hard to see in the photograph but this die leaves an embossing border around the edge.  I stamped the leaves directly on the piece of Good Taste Designer Series Paper and layered everything together.

I know it is hard to believe but Olivia Grace turned one last week.  Gosh, time really does fly.  She is the sweetest baby and smiles all the time (although her parents don’t always agree with this).  She is a beautiful little girl that looks a lot like her mother and her father.
