Christmas Pines

Earlier this week I was talking about using some of the older but still current products that we tend to forget about when new things come out.  It is kind of like when waving new shiny things in front of you, you forget what you are doing.

Christmas Pines is another stamp set that is in the 2017/2018 Stamping’ Up! Annual Catalog that I had forgotten about.  It is a beautiful stamp set that has matching Thinlits called Pretty Pines.  I love these Thinlits because they make beautiful pine cones and sprigs of pine branches.  My next door neighbor is so talented and she has these on her windows of her house (for real).  They are just beautiful and I wish I was that talented.  I keep trying to get her to come decorate my house but she still hasn’t shown up!  She is an amazing gardener her.  I won’t even talk about what my gardens look like!  They are pathetic!

Daisy Delight

It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge with Buffy and Jackie.  This time our challenge is to use Designer Series Paper (DSP) in our project.  We do this because, we are all hoarders and need to start using our DSP!

Here is my card:

I used the stamp set called Daisy Delight.  This set has a matching Punch called Daisy and you can save 10% by purchasing both in a Bundle.  I also used the new 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon in Pool Party.  This ribbon is so beautiful.  It is hard to tell from the picture but it has a slight shimmer to it.  Gorgeous!  Lastly, I used the Designer Series Paper called Delightful Daisy.  This paper has beautiful, soft colors such as Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder.

Now let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made with their hoarded Designer Series Paper.

Summer Silhouettes

Summer Silhouettes

Making a sympathy card is never a fun thing especially when you need to use one.  A good friend, who lives in Rome, Italy, lost a good friend so Rob and I wanted to send the husband a card letting him know we were thinking of him.  I made this card using the stamp set called Summer Silhouettes.  First, I stamped it in Black ink and then again in Versamark and embossed it using White Embossing Powder.  The I sponged So Saffron, Crisp Cantaloupe, Wisteria Wonder and Marina Mist (from the bottom to the top).  The parts that are embossed don’t pick up the colors of the ink.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Petite Petals Mother’s Day Card

Petite Petals

I made this card to send to my mother for Mother’s Day.  Usually when I send a card to my mom, I write inside it using a sticky note so she can use the card again (I do that with most of my cards so they can get recycled and sent to another person).  Last year, she called me and said how nice it was that I did that but I didn’t have to do it with a Mother’s Day card.  My mom is 89.  Her mother is no longer with us, so I guess she really does not have a need for it.  This year I will remember to write inside the card with the sticky note!

The flowers are from Petite Petals.  It has a matching punch also called Petite Petals and you can buy both in a Bundle and save 15%.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  That set has every possible sentiment you could want to make any card.  If I recommend any stamp set it would be Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I also recommend buying it in Wood Mount.  The stamps themselves are very small and easy to lose.  If they were in Clear Mount, it would be even easier to lose one.   I used the Linen Thread and the embossing folder called Fancy Fan.  The arrow comes from the set of Framelits called On Film.

Happy Birthday Balloons & Free Shipping Starting Tomorrow

Teeny Tiny Wishes

Have you tried Pinterest yet?  You really need to go look at it.  Once you get there “follow” me.  All you need to do is put my name (Susan Horr) into the search bar and all my pins will come up.  I have a few different Boards on there.  One of them is called Susan Stamps and it is the Board I post all of the cards (and projects) I made.  You can also follow my other Boards.  I have a ton of recipes of meals and desserts and a few things I ran across for the home.  It is easy to do and it will give you a ton of ideas!

I got this idea for this card from there.  It is not exactly the same because I changed it a little from the original.  I thought it would make a terrific kids birthday card or even a masculine card.  Everyone likes balloons especially on their birthday.  I used the Extra Large Oval Punch to cut out the balloons and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The Designer Series Paper is called Kaleidoscope and is in the Occasions Catalog.

Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

FebruarySaleabrationBlogHop
Welcome to my first ever blog hop!  For those of you who do not know what a blog hop is, it is where a group of Stampin Up! demonstrators make projects based on a theme and the viewer goes from blog to blog to see everyone’s projects.  You probably just came from Jean’s amazing blog.  Her projects are always gorgeous!

Why the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop?  If you are a Stampin Up! demonstrator you have access to a forum called Stampin Connection where only demonstrators can enter.  On that forum is a thread called the Wacky Women’s Watercooler.  It is basically a thread where we talk about anything and everything (except business!).  The demonstrators who go there the most decided to do a blog hop a few months ago.  I could never participate because I was usually out of town on the dates they picked but this time I am home and here (although a little nervous!).

This hop’s theme is about the products in the Sale-a-bration and Occasions Catalogs.  The first card I made is a wedding card.  You could probably use it for just about any holiday or event (well maybe not a masculine birthday card).  Just change the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and it becomes whatever you want.  The card uses the Spiral Flower Originals Die that is in the Occasions Catalog.  It is so easy to make a flower using this die.  It is a Bigz die so you can cut up to 4 pieces of cardstock at a time.  I didn’t have a black brad so I decided to dip a brad from Antique Brads in Versamark and then Black Embossing Powder and heated it up with my Heat Tool.  The Designer Series Paper is called Modern Medley and is in the Annual Catalog.

The next project(s) I made used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch which is in the Occasion Catalog.  I actually saw this technique on Pinterest and fell in love with it.  I had to figure out how to make it but it wasn’t hard to do.  If you look closely, the “tag toppers” are all one piece with the card.  Of course, I decorated it differently then the card I saw, making it my own.  I actually made two of them, one has the tabs on the side and one has them in the middle.  Both cards use the Designer Series Paper in the Sale-a-bration Catalog called Sweet Sorbet. You can’t buy this paper but you can get it for free with a qualifying purchase.  I love the colors of this paper.  I used the stamp sets called Perfect Pennants and Chalk Talk for these cards.

The last card I made uses the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Banner Blast and the matching Banner Punch.  You can not purchase these items right now but you can get them for free with a qualifying purchase.  The card also uses the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder that is also in the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  By the way, the Banner Punch and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder will be available for purchase in the 2014/2015 Annual Catalog that comes out in June but you can only earn the Banner Blast Stamp Set through a qualifying purchase.  The Birthday Wishes stamp is from Four You.

Pool Party Valentine

DSC01885

Everywhere I look (Stampin Up! website, Pinterest & Facebook) I see the color combination of Pool Party and Real Red.  They are not colors I would normally put together, but after seeing it a bazillion times, it has grown on me.  Therefore, I made this Valentine card using those two colors together.  The large heart and banner came from the stamp set called Hearts A Flutter that has matching Framelits, also called Hearts A Flutter.  The little embossed hearts are from an embossing folder called Adorning Accents.  There are three small folders in this set.  Lastly, the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time!  Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase!  Get and extra $30 in Hostess Benefits with a $300 workshop (or order)!  Join my Stampin Up! family and get an extra $25 with your starter kit!

The Twelve Days Of Christmas – Day 10

DSC01402

Welcome to Day 10 of the Twelve Days of Christmas Series.

This card is probably the most involved of all the cards I have shown you, yet is still very easy to make.  It uses a non Christmas stamp set called Mosaic Madness that has a matching punch called Mosaic Punch.  You can buy it in a Bundle and save 15%.  When you first look at this set, you would not think it could be used as a Christmas set but they do look like ornaments when stamped alone.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, which everyone should have in their stamp room.  If you don’t you really need to buy it because it has almost every sentiment you can think of.  It is a must have!

To make this card a little easier, you don’t need to actually punch the ornaments out.  You can just stamp them on the Whisper White card stock and draw the strings.  Easy!

Tea Party

Tea Party

Tea Party is one of those Stampin Up! stamp sets that are really meant to be used with vintage cards.  I really think someone needs to spend some time with me teaching me how to do vintage cards because I just can’t get the hang of it.  So here is a vintage stamp set in a “clean” card once again.

As you know, I am having a love affair with the new In Colors.  Each color is just so beautiful alone but they go together so nicely too.  This card uses Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana.  I have heard this said before, but I agree that whomever named these new colors must have been hungry when they did it.  Four out of five names have something to do with food (the others are Baked Brown Sugar and Strawberry Slush).

The catalog this year has beautiful In Color ribbons called 3/8″ Ruffle Stretch Trim.  I used it in Crisp Cantaloupe.  I cut out the banners using the Bitty Banners Framelits and the Designer Series Paper is from the In Color Designer Series Paper Stacks.

Dress Up Again

I am warning you now.  There will be a lot of posts using the new Dress Up Framelits from the Occasions Catalog.  I love these Framelits, which I am sure you will be able to tell!

This time I made the skirt out of the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper for that is in the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  You can earn this paper FREE with a $50 purchase!  The jacket is made using Pool Party Card Stock and the buttons are Basic Pearls
