Today’s Tiles

Stampin Up Today's Tiles

Today’s Tiles is a stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!®  2020/2021 Annual Catalog.  It has coordinating dies called Field Tiles and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I love this stamp set for a few reasons.  The mosaic design is a two step stamp set which means you make one image using two different stamps.  In this case, the tiles are made using 2 stamps.  Plus, this stamp set has some great sentiments such as “wishing you peace & happiness”,  “I am blessed to have you in my life” and “Thanks for being there when I needed you the most”.  There are six sentiments in all including the one I used on this card.  Sadly, this is another bundle that will be retiring on May 2nd.

To make this card I first stamped the tiles twice. This stamp is pretty big so the best way to use it is in your Stamparatus or other stamping tool.  Once you have it lined up correctly, you can stamp it over and over again using different colors which makes it easy to make multiple cards.  I have to admit I used scrap paper the first time to make sure I lined it up correctly and it worked perfectly.  The first combination I used is Just Jade for the main image and Night Of Navy for the accents.  Then I stamped it again using Smoky Slate and Night Of Navy.  I actually did 4 or 5 more color combinations that I can use at another time.

After stamping the tiles, I cut them each one out and evenly layered them on a 3 3/8″ x 5 1/2″piece of Basic White cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment in Night Of Navy ink and then layered that on a 3 5/8″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Just Jade cardstock.  The card base is Night Of Navy.   I can use the other tiles and make another card sometime in the future.

Stampin Up Today's Tiles

The stamp set called Today’s Tiles is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2020/2021 Annual Catalog.  I have a confession to make.  This stamp set was not on my radar for my first order in this catalog but apparently I got my item numbers mixed up and it arrived with that first order.  Since it was not planned, I didn’t get the dies (called Field Tiles Dies) but they are now on my list.  Sometimes mistakes turn out to be a good thing because I really like this set now.

Today’s Tiles is a two step stamp set.  That means it takes two or more stamps to make an image.  Here is a big hint.  You need a Stamparatus (SAR) to match up this image.  I tried to do it using blocks but it was too hard to line up for these old eyes.  The SAR made is really easy to do.  After I stamped both of the images together I liked it so much I decided to go ahead and make up a bunch of them using different colors.  I am sure you will see some of them in the future.

As you can see I had a lot of fun making different color combinations.  I think the red and green one looks Christmasy to me and the Smoky Slate and Night Of Navy could definitely be for a masculine card.

I cut the sentiment out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

Here is a picture of Madelyn at her “kindergarten” class.  Schools are not open in Nashville due to COVID 19 so some of their neighbors got together and hired a teacher to help them with online learning.  These shirts made me laugh.  2033 seems so far away!!  Madelyn is the silly one in the middle.

Here is a picture of Emy on her first day of school in Pre-3 with my son, Zachary.  Emy loves to dress up as a princess (as most little girls do).
