Grandchildren Valentines

I made these Valentines for three out of four grandchildren this year.  I will admit I did not make one for Olivia.  It is not because I don’t love her but she is only 8 months old and I think she would just eat it.  Everything goes in her mouth.  Then I would feel bad because she ate something that might not be so good for her.  Plus she might get Highland Heather Ink on her face and her parents probably wouldn’t like that.  I figure a grand has to be at least 2 before they get cards from me.  Until then, they just get lots of hugs and kisses.

To start with, I used the Note Cards & Envelopes that are in the 2020 Annual Catalog.  The cards are 3 1/2″ x 5 and you get 20 cards and 20 envelopes in the pack.  They come in Whisper White (I used this one for the Toucan card) or Very Vanilla (which I used for the elephant cards).

The top Valentine is for Nolan.  I used  the stamp set called Bonanza Buddies and the matching dies called Bonanza Dies.  They are part of the Birthday Bonanza Suite that are in the 2020 January – June Mini Catalog and you can save 10% if you purchase them in a Bundle.  The Suite also includes a ribbon, tiny little pompoms and gusseted cellophane bags.  This Suite is perfect for birthday parties and valentines!

To make Nolan’s card I first cut the tag out in Mango Melody cardstock using one of the dies from the Bonanza Dies.  I cut the Toucan out of the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper.  I love that the dies match some of the designs in this DSP.  The heart balloons are from a retired punch (sorry about that) and the sentiment is from the stamp set called Meant To Be.  It is in the Annual Catalog.

The next card was the one I made for Madelyn and Emy.  I used the Little Elephant stamp set and the Elephant Builder Punch.  I stamped the larger elephant in Highland Heather ink and the smaller one in Blushing Bride. Both granddaughters love sparkly things so I used some Wink of Stella on the heart and the elephants.  Every girl needs a little sparkle in their lives

Meant To Be

The of the great things that Stampin’ Up!® now does is to add dies to a set that do something different than just cut out an image.  Yes, of course, they cut out the images in the matching stamp set but they have also been including dies that do something different.

I made this card using the stamp set called Meant To Be from the 2019 Occasions Catalog.  This stamp set is perfect for Valentine’s Day.  It also has a set of matching dies called Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies.  The fun thing is they also added some special dies to this set.  If you look at my card you will see the stitched scalloped edges on both sides of the All My Love Designer Series Paper.  That was done by a die in this set.  The other special thing is the heart itself was cut out using two separate dies.  One cut the stitching around the heart and the other cut the heart out.  Actually, there is a second thing that die does.  It cuts the heart and cut a stitched scallop around the heart.  I used it in this card (bottom right in Whisper White).  Isn’t that fun?!

The colors I used for this card are Lovely Lipstick and Whisper White.  I popped up the heart with Dimensionals and used a piece of 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in Lovely Lipstick.

If you purchase the Meant To Be Bundle you can save 10% AND get a free item from the 2019 Sale-a-bration Catalog!  You can also get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 single or group order or Join my Stampin Up! family and get a $175 worth of products for $99  or get the Carry & Craft Tote and $175 worth of products for $129!

Favorite Occasions Catalog Challenge

Hello everyone!  Today’s Stamp Off Challenge is to use our favorite product from the 2019 Occasions Catalog.  This was.a hard challenge because I love so many things from that catalog.  Geared Up Garage is my favorite stamp set with matching dies.  Oh wait, maybe it is Meant To Be.  Well, I do love that but Piece Of Cake is so cute yet, I love the big words in Life Is Grand.  Hence, this is my dilemma.  I had to do some thinking here and realized if I could only buy one thing from this catalog (can you imagine how awful that would be?) it would be the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies.

The thing that is different than most other stitched rectangle dies is this set is meant to layer with each other and make frames.  Each die cuts a stitching in both the piece you are cutting out as well and the outside piece that is left so it leaves you with a frame with both edges stitched.

To make this card, I first cut out the frames using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies in Whisper White, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral.  Then I used an Aqua Painter with Blushing Bride Ink and painted the background onto the Whisper White card base.  I stamped the hearts is Calypso Coral and then cut them out using the Meant To Be stamp set with the matching dies called Be Mine Stitched Framelits.  You can save 10% by purchasing these in a Bundle.  Then I just put it all together.

Now, let’s go see what are Buffy’s and Jackie’s favorites from this catalog.  Maybe they had an easier time picking out what to use but somehow I doubt that!

A Valentine Stamp Off Challenge

Hello again!  It is time for another Stamp Off Challenge featuring BS & J Productions (Buffy, Susan and Jackie).  Today’s challenge is to make a Valentine’s Day card.

I used the stamp set called Heart Happiness to make my card for this challenge.

Heart Happiness is a perfect set to use to make a Valentine’s Day card.  It actually has a set of Framelits that go with it and that go with another stamp set called Sure Do Love You.  That is one of the great things I love about Stampin’ Up!.  You can mix and match stamp sets, dies and colors because everything goes together so well.

First I colored the larger hearts using my Stamping’ Write Markers in Flirty Flamingo, Marina Mist and Island Indigo.  Then I stamped the little heart and cut all of them out using the dies called Lots To Love Box.

I also used the stamp set called Number Of Years and a set of Framelits called Large Numbers to make the banner for this card.

Now let’s go see what Jackie and Buffy made for their Valentine’s Day card.

Club Member Valentines

Every month I give my Club members a “Challenge” to make a card and bring it to our meeting to share.  Normally the hostess for the night gets to keep the cards, but occasionally one or two of them make an extra for me.  Of course, I love it when that happens.

This week, I was able to keep three cards, although one is mysteriously missing, but in any case, I have two of them to show you.  The first one was made by Karen.  I love it.  She did a great job on this card.

The next card was a joint effort by my two new Club members, Karin and Katie.  I thought they were so brave coming to the meeting for the first time and making a card and I am so glad they did.  This card is so cute!

Stamp-A-Stack Part III – Love Birds

The third card we did for our Stamp-A-Stack used an older set called Aviary.  It uses non-traditional Valentine colors of Baja Breeze and Night of Navy.  I used to say that Baja Breeze was my favorite Stampin Up color but I gave up saying that because I have about 10 favorite Stampin Up colors now.

Hearts A Flutter Valentine

This card uses the Hearts A Flutter Stamp Set and Matching Framelits (you can get them both in a bundle and save some money!) as well as Itty Bitty Banners and the matching Framelits for that set called Bitty Banners.  Then the bottom of the card was cut with the Large Scallop Edgelits and then embossed with Delicate Designs.

Valentine’s Day is coming soon but there is still time to order.  Click here before it is too late.

Perfectly Preserved Hearts

The Occasions Catalog has a little tiny set called Itty Bitties which I thought would go perfectly with the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set.  It has little tiny hearts, butterflies, lady bugs and leaves.  All together is has 56 different stamps that could be used with many sets.  By the way, even though Perfectly Preserved was in the Holiday Catalog, you can still order it.

The hearts in this card come from a variety of stamps sets.  I used Itty Bitties for the littlest hearts and lips.  I used Tiny Tags for the larger stamped hearts with the swirl in them.  The outlined heart comes from Hearts A Flutter.  As you can see, Stampin Up has tons of choices when it comes to hearts.  Of course, I had to have them all.  What else is new!?!

Another Sneak Peek

Here is another card I used with supplies from the Spring Occasions Mini.  The stamp set and matching Framelits are called Hearts A Flutter.  The background is made with a new Embossing Folder called Honeycomb and the ribbon is 3/8″ Striped Organdy Ribbon and comes in Melon Mambo (as shown), Old Olive and Marina Mist.  You are going to love the new catalog when it becomes available on January 3, 2013.  The design for this card is from the web site called Mojo Monday.  It is the first time I have actually participated in any kind of card sketch.
