A Christmas Card For Lou

Festival of Trees

A few years ago a bunch of us got together at my house to make our own Christmas cards together.  It was a great way to get it done and have fun at the same time.  Everyone brought some food and drinks to share.  My friend Lou was having a bad day.  She wasn’t feeling very well and she had a bad week at work.  Normally Lou is laughing and smiling and having a great time.  She was a little quiet and somber when she arrived.  Everyone took out their supplies to make their cards.  Most of the colors were green and red or blue and silver.  Then Lou takes out her colors.  She brought black and dark gray.  We knew it wasn’t going to be a good day for her.  I am not sure she even made a card that day at all.  We all still laugh about this.  So, in honor of Lou, I made this Smokey Slate and Basic Black Christmas card.  Of course I had to brighten it up a bit with the Real Red so it kind of ruins the moment but I was still thinking about her.Blog Signature-Fall

Watercolor Winter Part Two

Wednesday a few of my club members and I got together to make the cards that are in the Watercolor Winter Card Kit.   This kit is in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  I showed you a few of the cards yesterday and here are some more.

I love the colors in this kit.  There are Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.  It has has Gold Glimmer Paper.  If you buy the kit and the matching stamps, it comes with everything you need to make 20 cards!  I did use a couple of the snowflakes from the Frosted Sequins that are also in the Holiday Catalog.

Fun With Watercolor Winter & Friends

Stampin’ Up! has a great card kit in the Holiday Catalog this year called Watercolor Winter.  The kit makes 20 cards (5 each of 4 designs).  They are really cute.  A few members of my stamp club got together last night to put the cards together.  We followed the directions on some of the cards but also changed them up a bit too.  Here are a few of the cards we made.
