Happiness Surrounds

Stampin’ Up!® is offering a limited time bundle during the month of November called Snowflake Showcase.  It consists of two stamp sets called Happiness Surrounds and Snow Is Glistening, a set of dies called Snowfall Thinlits, White Velvet Paper and Snowfall Trinkets.  It is an awesome set of products that I knew I had to have the minute I saw it.  The snowflake dies are the most beautiful I have ever seen.  One stamp set is for the Christmas or winter season and the other can be used year round.

I used the Happiness Surrounds stamp set for this card to show you it is not just for winter.  The colors I used are Lemon Lime Twist, Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana and Highland Heather.  I first embossed a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Lemon Lime Twist using the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder.  Then I punched out a circle of Flirty Flamingo using the 2 1/4″ Circle Punch and embossed that using the Subtle Embossing Folder to give it a little texture.  I stamped and cut out the rest of the pieces and layered a piece of Gold Metallic Thread behind it before adhering it to the circle using Dimensionals.  The Gold Metallic Thread added a little sparkle to the card.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Tropical Chic.

Remember these products are only available through the month of November or as supplies last.  Don’t miss out on these beautiful products.  I put all of them in the links below.

Alpine Adventure

Alpine Adventure is another stamp set that is in the Stampin’ Up!® 2018 Holiday Catalog.  It has a set of matching dies called Alpine Sports Thinlits and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  A few years ago, Stampin’ Up! sold a stamp set similar to this one but it did not have matching dies.  This set goes over the top and actually has 12 dies in it.  One of them cuts out the cutest wooden sled and the rest of the dies have a lot of detail to them.

To make this card I first stamped the snow shoes in Crumb Cake ink and cut them out using the matching dies.  Then I cut out two snowflakes using Balmy Blue cardstock.  I stamped the background of the card using two snowflakes.  One is in Balmy Blue and the other is Blueberry Bushel.  I cut a circle out of the Best Route Designer Series Paper  Series Paper and then a scalloped circle in Balmy Blue using the Layering Circle Dies.  I stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel and cut it out with a die that is included in the Alpine Sports Thinlits Dies and put it all together.  The ribbons is 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in Blueberry Bushel.

Today I am headed to Orlando for the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Convention.  It is their 30th birthday so it should be a fun celebration.  Thanks to all of you, this year I earned a promotion and can go to CentreStage which is a free day at Epcot with Rob.  I am really looking forward to that!  I will try to put out little posts of information if I can.  It is going to be four full days of seeing new products, spending time with Demonstrators from all over the world and making fun projects.  We will also get to see the 2019 Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalogs!  Thank you for your orders over the years.  I couldn’t have done it without all of you!

Zachary’s Father’s Day Card

2015-06-21 11.02.22

This morning my son, Zachary, went down to my stamp room and made this card for his Dad for Father’s Day.  He used a sailboat die that I happen to own.  I know it is not Stampin’ Up! but when you have a family full of sailors you need to find something to use.  He did use Sea Street for the fish, flags, line and anchor.  The inside of the card used a the Happy Father’s Day stamp from Guy Greeting.  I thought he did pretty well.  Of course, my stamp room is a mess, but that is ok.  It is worth the clean up!

A Washi Tape Tea Party

Tea Party, Washi Tape

If you haven’t purchased any Washi Tape, you really need to.  This stuff is awesome!  It works like scotch tape.  You just peel off a piece and stick it on your card.  It is that simple.  You don’t even need scissors to rip it off.  Really, if you haven’t bought any you have to try it.  “Try it.  You will love it.”

The tea pot with the flowers is from the stamp set called Tea Party.  It is in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  I used markers to color it the different colors.  The sentiment is from a stamp set that is in the 2015 Occasions Catalog called Crazy About You.  There are 30 different word stamps in the set and it comes in Wood Mount, Clear Mount or Photopolymer.

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase! Get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $300 workshop (or order)! Join my Stampin Up! family and get an extra $25 with your starter kit!

My 2014 Christmas Card

Wondrous Wreath

This year I used the Stampin’ Up Stamp Set called Wondrous Wreath for my Christmas Card.  This was my favorite set from the Holiday Catalog.  I love it because you can use it any time of year by just changing the colors.  You can make a spring or summer wreath by adding flowers on it and a fall wreath by stamping it in fall colors (Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, etc).  It is a 3 step stamp set which means it has three different stamps that you layer on top of each other.  I used Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon and the Encore Silver Ink Pad.   One of the best things about it is it also has a set of matching Framelits called Wonderful Wreath so no tedious cutting.  If you look closely, I stamped Lovely As A Tree behind the window.  The sentiment is from Holiday Home.

Watercooler Color Challenge

Four Feathers, Work Of Art, For All Things

The other day I was in my stamp room trying to design a new card and wanted to use some colors I haven’t used in a while.  I pulled out Night of Navy and was trying to figure out a couple of other colors to use when I got an email from the administrator of the group that does the Watercooler challenges.  The email said the next challenge was a color challenge using Night of Navy, Marina Mist and Silver.  Perfect!  I now had my my colors.

I didn’t have any silver cardstock so I decided to heat emboss the card using Silver Embossing Powder.  The middle feather from the stamp set called Four Feathers is embossed with silver as well and the chevrons from Work of Art.  The sentiment is from For All Things.

If you would like to see the other cards made with these colors you can go to the Watercooler Challenge Web site starting at 10:00AM.   There are some awesome creations there.

Flower Patch For Freshly Made Sketches

Flower Patch

Whenever I need a little inspiration I try to either find a card sketch, color combination or challenge that I like.  This time I used this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card challenge.  Here is what it looks like:

FMS+Final+145-001I used the new Photopolymer Stamp Set called Flower Patch.  I stamped the largest flower in Bermuda Bay and cut it with the matching Framelits called Flower Fair. Then I stamped it again in Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie and cut out the smaller sections of the flowers by hand and put them together using Dimensionals.  The little flag shape at the bottom is a new Big Shot Die called Party Pennants and the sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes.  That is a stamp set that is not in the catalog but is available for purchase.  If you click on the tab at the top of my blog that says “Merchandise Not In The Catalog” you will see a few other items that are not in the catalog but are available to purchase.
