Beautiful World

World Of Good is a suite of products that are in the 2020/2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.  This suite includes the stamp set called Beautiful World, World Map Dies (you can save 10% by purchasing them in a bundle), World Of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper,  Brass Foil Sheets, ribbon, an embossing folder and more.  I love it when Stampin’ Up!® puts products together.  It makes it so much easier than guessing what goes with what (especially for very unartistic people like me!).

Now that I actually am looking carefully at this card, I realized I did not use the Beautiful Word stamp set.  The entire card is die cut except for the sentiment which is from the stamp set called Well Said.  I thought it fit perfectly with the globes especially lately.  I don’t know about you but I miss my family and this would be a perfect card to let them know.

To make this card I first cut out the globes in the new Brass Foil Sheets.  The World of Good DSP has Brass in it so they match perfectly so I used that DSP as a background.  I cut the globe stands out of Seaside Spray cardstock as well as the sentiment using a new punch called Lovely Labels Pick A Punch.  This punch cuts out six different shapes for your sentiments and you can make them as short or as long as you want them to be.  It is a wonderful invention!

Peaceful Moments

On Monday I showed you how you can make a quick and easy card by letting your Designer Series Paper (DSP) do all the hard work.  Here is another example for you.  If you are anything like me, you purchase a lot of DSP but you don’t use a lot of it.  There is something that keeps me from cutting into that first sheet that makes it so hard to do.  As they say “just do it”.  What good is this beautiful paper if it sits around uncut and unloved?

The Designer Series Paper I used is called Ornate Garden Specialty Paper.  It is called Specialty because it has some gold foil designs on some of the patterns.  I cut a piece of the Terracotta Tile colored paper 4″ x 5.5″ and layered it onto a Whisper White card base.  Then I cut the flowered DSP 2.5″ x 3.75″ and layered that onto a piece of 2.75″ x 4″ Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment “heartfelt” (from the stamp set called Well Said) using Memento Black in onto a piece of Terracotta Tile cardstock and then the “thank you” sentiment (from the stamp set called Peaceful Moments) in Terracotta Tile ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut both of them out using dies from the Tasteful Labels die set

It took me longer to decide which DSP to use then it took to make the card.  So remember.  Cut that Designer Series Paper and use it!  That is what it is for.

Lift Me Up

Lift Me Up is a stamp set that is in the current Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog but will be retiring this year.  This stamp set has matching dies called Up & Away which will also be retiring.  This is a great stamp set that has 16 stamps in all.  It includes hot air balloons, clouds and a ton of very cute sentiments.  There are 15 dies in the set, one of which cuts out the amazing balloon and background pieces I used on this card.

To make this card, I first used a mask from Pattern Party Decorative Masks set.  This pack includes 4 different masks including the cloud one.  I used a Stamping Sponge with Balmy Blue Ink and then added a little Smoky Slate along the bottom of the clouds to give them a little depth. I then cut out the outline of the hot air balloon in Basic Black cardstock and the pieces used behind the outline in Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, and Gorgeous Grape.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Well Said and the matching dies called Well Written.   This stamp set and the dies will be in the new catalog but you won’t be able to save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle so if you like this set you will need to order it before June 4th.

Rooted In Nature

This is another card we made is our monthly club meeting.  I “borrowed” this idea from Buffy.  She made a great video showing how to get different colors in the tree.  She used Watercolor Paper, a different stamp set and spritzed the paper, which I did not but the cards are similar and I got the idea after watching her video.

You need to have a Stamparatus to make this card.  This is because you stamp the image over and over using different colors so you have exact placement every time.  This would be impossible to do without the Stamparatus.

To make this card, I first placed a piece of removable tape along the bottom of a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  Then I sponged So Saffron, Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam ink onto it.  When you remove the tape, it leaves a clean line where there is no ink.

Then I placed the piece of sponged cardstock into the Stamparatus and then placed the stamp where I wanted it.  I used various Stampin’ Write Markers to make the leaves different shades of green.  I first randomly put Granny Apple Green ink with a marker on the stamp and then stamped it using the Stamparatus.  Then I did the same thing in different parts of the stamp with Old Olive, Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz.  The last thing I did was color the branches and trunk of the tree with an Early Espresso marker.  Here is a close up of the tree where you can see the different colors a little better.

The sentiments are from the stamp set called Well Said and the matching dies called Well Written.  Everything I used on this card will be in the 2019/2020 Annual Catalog.  That makes me happy!

A Color Challenge

Hello everyone!  Today we are having another Stamp Off Challenge.  This week we have a color challenge!

IMG_20190118_125107

It took me a while to figure out what stamp set to use for this challenge.  I decided to use a set that hasn’t received much use lately called Bike Ride.  I think this is a fun stamp set and it has a matching set of dies called Build A Bike Framelits.  It also made these crazy colors easier to use.

To make this card I first stamped all the bicycle parts in Blackberry Bliss ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut them out using the dies.  Then I stamped the books in Smoky Slate ink and colored them using my Blackberry Bliss, Mango Melody and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Markers.  I also colored the handle bars, seat and pedal using the Mango Melody Marker.  The Designer Series Paper I used is called Nature’s Poem.  It is in the 2018/2019 Annual Catalog.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Well Said.  This set is in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.

Now, let’s go see what Buffy and Jackie made using these colors.  I always look forward to seeing their take on our challenges.

A Well Written, Well Said Piece Of Cake

This card uses four new products from the 2019 Stampin’ Up!® Occasions Catalog.   They are the stamp set called Piece Of Cake with a matching punch called Cake Builder Punch and the stamp set called Well Said with the matching dies called Well Written Framelits.  Both of these Bundles can be purchased at 10% off.

Piece of Cake is on Page 18 of the catalog.  It has six different double layered cakes, along with a cake stand, sentiments and various things to decorate your cake with.  The Cake Builder Punch cuts out the cakes and the cake stand.  I stamped both images in Memento Black Ink and then colored them with my Smoky Slate and Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends.  Then I cut both of them out using the punch.

Well Said is on page 27 of the 2019 Occasions Catalog.  You can buy this set and the matching Well Written Framelits dies in a Bundle and get 10% off.  These dies are amazing.  There are 24 dies in the set.  Most of them are words you would use frequently such a “happy”, “thanks”, “love” and others.  There are a couple of leaves and flower dies too.  This is one set that is a must have if you make cards.

The Designer Series Paper I used is called Best Route and is in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.

Quick & Easy Cards Part IV

Welcome back to fourth post in my Quick & Easy cards using Designer Series Paper series.  If you missed the first three posts you can see them HERE, HERE and HERE.  This series shows those of you who think you don’t have time to make nice cards, how to make them and be able to share them with family and friends plus they get you to use your stash of beautiful Designer Series Paper.

This card uses the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack as a background.  The Happiness Blooms also has Designer Series Paper called Happiness Blooms so you could use either.  I first stamped the word “Best” using Night Of Navy ink onto a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and then punched it out using the Tailored Tag Punch. This stamp comes from the set called Well Said.  It has matching dies called Well Written Framelits.  They are both in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  Then I cut out the word “wishes” from this set of dies and adhered it to the Tag.  I wrapped a piece of 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in Call Me Clover around the Paper and placed the tag over it.  Lastly, I adhered it all to a piece of Call Me Clover and Soft Sea Foam cardstock.

Again, this card took less than five minutes to make and uses that Designer Series Paper that is sitting on your shelf!  You know I am talking to you!

Come back tomorrow to see the last card in my Quick & Easy card series.

Quick & Easy Cards Using Designer Series Paper Part II

In case you missed yesterday’s post, I am spending the week showing you quick and easy cards to make using Designer Series Paper.  These cards are for people who tell me they are too busy to make nice cards and for those who hoard their Designer Series Paper.

Today’s card uses Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This paper is great because it can be used for birthday cards for everyone.  I think this card could be a masculine card.  Again, it was under five minutes to make.  I adhered the piece of DSP to Basic Black Cardstock.  Then I cut out the “birthday” from the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die.  I decided to cut off the “Happy” because it was quite large and took up a lot of the front of the card.  Instead, I stamped the word “happy” from the Well Said stamp set that is in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.  This stamp set has matching dies called Well Written Framelits Dies (and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle).  I didn’t use these dies but they are awesome!

Again, this is a quick and easy card that is nice enough to share.

Come back tomorrow for another card in my series.
