Everything Eleanor

Everything Eleanor

This is one of the cards we made at a workshop I did for a friend.  This friend of mine doesn’t like bright colors and tends to lean towards the more neutral ones.  It uses the stamp set called Everything Eleanor that is in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  I actually received this set free when I went to my first Leadership Conference with Stampin’ Up! a few years ago.  I think it was held in San Antonio, Texas that year.  I love the big swirl that is in the set.  It makes a great background for cards.  If you are interested in finding out how to get free merchandise, just send me an email.

The sentiment is from the stamp set called Yippee-Skippee!

Festival Of Trees Birthday Card

Festival Of Trees

The stamp set called Festival of Trees is a great set to use for your Christmas cards but it can also be used for everyday cards too!  I love it when a stamp set has more than one use especially when it is supposed to be a Christmas set.  You can really use this one year round so you get more for your money.  The Festival of Trees stamp set in the Holiday Catalog.

The sentiment on this card comes from the stamp set called Yippee-Skippee.  This set is in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  The colors I used are Wisteria Wonder, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi.

Petite Petals Birthday Card

Petite Petals

I saw a card similar to this one on Pinterest and thought it was really cute so I decided to make it but changed it up a bit.  I used the stamp set called Petite Petals that has a matching punch also called Petite Petals.  I decided to use most of the colors in the Stampin’ Up! Brights Collection to make it bright and cheery.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Brights Color Collection Paper Stacks.  I love these Paper Stacks because they have 4 sheets of every color in the family.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Yippee Skippee.  I thought it was fitting because it looks like a happy card to me!

Buffy’s RA (Random Act)

Yippee-SkippeeSometimes it is fun to get a card in the mail that you weren’t expecting at all!  I decided to hadn’t sent Buffy (my best BFF) a card in a while so I made her one using a special stamp from the stamp set called Yippee-Skippee.  It is one of those stamps you would not use for everyone but it is my favorite to use for Buffy because I freakin’ do love her!

For the background of this card I used the Positively Chevron Background stamp in Tangelo Twist.  The ribbon is also Tangelo Twist and is my favorite ribbon (3/8″ Stitched Satin) and comes in all the new In Colors.  It is soft and easy to tie.  Buffy and I do a ribbon share when a new catalog comes out.  I tend to hoard my ribbon so when they eventually retire, I still have tons of it left.  Sharing a roll is perfect for me because I will usually use most of it up.  The hearts are from a new punch pack called Itty Bitty Accents.  The pack has the heart, a star and a flower.

Secret Garden’s LImited Time

Secret Garden, Yippee-SkippeeThis is probably be the last post you will see by me showing Secret Garden.  It is retiring in a little more than a week (June 1st) and will not be available for purchase after that.  It really does make me sad because I love any stamp set with matching Framelits.  It means no fussy cutting!  You just stamp and run it through your Big Shot and voila!  It is cut out perfectly!  If you have been following my blog at all you might have noticed that there was not much cutting out.  There is a reason for this.  Take my word for it.

How good is your eye?  Did you see something on this card that might be new?  Yes you did!  It is the new Thick Baker’s Twine that will be in the new catalog.  It comes in all the 2013/2014 In Colors.  You are going to love it!  I used it in Coastal Cabana.

The sentiment I used is from Yippee- Skippee and the I cut the tag out using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

If you love Secret Garden as much as I do, make sure you order it before it is gone for good!

Gorgeous Grunge ROYGBIV

Gorgeous Grunge, One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! are all the beautiful colors they have.  There is a color for everyone.  If you love bright cheery colors, you will love their Brights Collection.  Is you love soft colors, you will love their Subtles Collection.  They also have a Regals Collection which has a lot of Fall-like colors and of course, they have Neutrals.

I made this card using some of Brights Collection and a couple of Regals.  They are the colors of the rainbow (ROYGBIV – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet).  The splatter stamp comes from the stamp set called Gorgeous Grunge.  I don’t think there is a stamp set alive that I disliked so much in the beginning and then grew to love (I can blame my bff, Buffy for that)!  It is funny how that happens.   The sentiment is from Yippee-Skippee!.  Both of these sets are being carried over to the new catalog (awesome, right?)

Hexagon Hive

I just love the 2013/2015 In Colors.  I love all of them but my two favorites are Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe.  You thrown in Calypso Coral and you have a  beautiful color combination.  The Designer Series Paper called Sweet Sorbet that is in the Sale-a-bration Catalog goes well with these colors.  You can get this Designer Series Paper for FREE with a $50 order!  As a matter of fact you can only get this paper by making a $50 order.  It is not for sale.

I layered a piece of Calypso Coral over the Designer Series Paper after I cut it out with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit.  The trick with this Thinlit is to use a piece of waxed paper between the Thinlit and your cardstock.  It makes it so much easier to get the cardstock out.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Yippee Skippee.

Flower Shop Happiness

DSC01729

Here is another summery birthday card for one of my many December birthdays.  I just realized that I usually try to make bright, happy and non Christmas themed cards for my winter birthdays.  I wonder if that means I should be making birthday cards with snowflakes and evergreens for the spring and summer birthdays.  I don’t think that will happen.

I used the stamp set called Flower Shop with the matching Pansy Punch for this.  You can save 15% by buying both of these items in a bundle.  The ribbon along the side is called 3/8″ Ruffle Stretch Trim and is in the color called Coastal Cabana.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Yippee-Skippee!.

Flower Shop With Vellum

DSC01376

The other day, I left the house to do some errands in my usual shorts and flip flops and someone commented to me how it was time to put these things away.  The rebellious person in my refuses to give up on summer until the first frost.  Oh wait.  We did have a frost, but it didn’t count because this week it has been sunny and warm so I am ignoring that first frost.

I guess this is true in my card making too.  I know I should be making cards with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and other fall like colors but I rebelled a little today and made a summery one.  If I had my way, I would live in some place like Hawaii where it is summer all the time.

I made this card using the Flower Shop Stamp Set and matching punch (Pansy Punch).  You can get both and save 15% on the Bundle.  I stamped the flowers on White Vellum Card Stock.  It give you kind of a see through effect.  Do you recognize the leaves?  I used the wing from the Bird Builder Punch!

Awesome, Thanks!

As many of you know, I am not a big purple person.  I used to work for someone who loved purple and wore it all the time.  It is funny how you attach good or bad connotations to someone you have met before in your life.  I have a couple of friends who love purple so I am going to be a big girl now and get over my disdain for the color.

I made this using the flourish from Everything Eleanor.  Then I covered it with Designer Series Paper and Elegant Eggplant card stock.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Yippee-Skippee!  I added the butterfly because during the month of September you can get the stamp set Papillion Potpourri and the Bitty Butterfly punch for 15% off!
